The person at the billing…read morecounter came across as rude and did not really answer the questions we had, which made the interaction unpleasant. A friendlier and more helpful attitude would really improve the overall shopping experience. That said, the store itself is large and has a good variety of products. We were looking for a specific type of rice, but unfortunately they didn't have it in stock. However, they did have fresh vegetables and a solid selection of groceries, which was good to see. Overall, the store has potential because of its variety, but better customer service would make us more comfortable about visiting again.

I have been a regular customer at Cherians Indian Grocery in Cumming for the past 12 years, and…read moreuntil today, I had never experienced such poor customer service. During checkout, the cashier, who seemed to be new, made multiple billing errors with my items and did not handle the situation professionally when the mistakes were pointed out.My Idly rice bag was clearly marked as $21.99, but she billed it as $22.99. When I pointed it out, she asked me to go take a picture of the price tag. I told her I did not have my phone with me, and she said she would go check herself. She went but never returned, so I had to go and show her the price tag personally. Even after seeing the $21.99 label, she seemed confused and went to another counter to discuss it with another employee while chatting and laughing instead of resolving the issue professionally. Another item, Paneer, was marked $4.99 on the shelf but was billed as $5.99 and already packed into the bag. I had to ask her again to verify the price before she corrected it. To make matters worse, I had purchased 2 packs of Maggi and returned 1 pack before payment. She started searching through all my groceries as if something was wrong. When I politely asked what she was looking for and explained that I had only returned one pack, she responded very rudely, saying she needed to check everything. After payment, I simply told her that speaking to customers that way was not good for the store's reputation. Instead of handling the feedback professionally, she argued back and told me not to speak to her like that. I understand that new employees need time to learn, but basic customer service and proper training are extremely important. Long-time customers should not have to deal with repeated billing mistakes and rude behavior. With untrained staff and poor customer interaction, Cherians' reputation may suffer in the future.

Plus, they honor the GoodRx coupon to bring it under $50/per item. Thank God! Also, we ordered food via Instacart, Sal brought out our two bags. Very friendly. All items present. Every Publix is the same, friendly employees who offer amazing customer service. The reason I'm reviewing this Publix is because they are convenient and open "late". I knocked off a star because I'm not a huge fan of their prepared foods/deli section. My subs never turn out very well when I order at this location. Comparing them to the one that I pass to get to them, it is NIGHT and DAY, plus ANOTHER NIGHT...LOL That being said, my issue is with the bakery... I have placed orders several times (6 or more) and the orders were NOT filled. I will show up with my receipt, time of pick-up, instructions and still NOTHING. They just give me a dumb look, say "I'm sorry..." and I leave empty-handed. Luckily I have other shopping to do, otherwise I would be angrier. HULK SMASH!!! However, I just keep my cool and go on. When they do have my order (I play lotto on those days...), my order is over-cooked, even when I expressly asked otherwise (i.e. "light cook") as my receipt reads ..UGH Do not bring it up to management (I did that FOUR TIMES) Publix corporate (I did that THREE TIMES...), that does NOT help  In my strong opinion, based on their repeated screw-ups? DO NOT USE THIS PUBLIX BAKERY. Either go elsewhere or do what I did, grab an old-school Betty Crocker cookbook (the one in red and white checker)and learn how to make your OWN baked goods. At least they will not be MIA or BURNED.

I've been in the store more times than I can remember and raised my son on some of Ester's Publix Apron recipes. It has been a good relationship until October 2, 2025 when one of the store managers, Mark forgot the basic principle for Publix. The Publix Promise is rooted in the company's commitment to customer satisfaction and transparency. FAILED Immediate Resolution: Pricing mistakes are resolved on the spot, eliminating the need for customers to return to customer service for corrections. FAILED (Check the tape and see exactly how long I waited and how long it took for Mark to come and dismiss me) Customer Empowerment: Cashiers are trained to handle pricing discrepancies efficiently, ensuring that customers feel valued and respected. FAILED (Mark missed a training opportunity) The cashier, whose name I withhold out of respect for age and lack of experience, was not the one who devalued me and disrespected me; that was all on the manager Mark. I can only assume that he felt the cashier told him everything he needed to know, thus dismissing me as an interruption to his day. Sadly, he hasn't a clue. We're all entitled to a bad day, so I'm hoping it's just that and not a sign of things to come at my neighborhood Publix. I was there before Mark came and will probably be there when he leaves. If today is any indication of things to come...it won't be long. I was intentionally vague because I'm convinced Mark is still clueless as to exactly what happened. I know this for a fact because I was actually trying to help. Please spare me any copy-and-paste or prearranged apologies and explanations. You can also keep your store credit or gift card. This wasn't a money grab, simply a paying customer offering feedback as a gift so that Publix can get back on track. I waited at least 15 minutes for Mark to leave me shaken and disturbed. It could have been handled so much better. If this is Mark's persona, and Mark is the standard for customer service at Publix - God help us all!
