My kids love it when the Hot sign is on. They love looking at how the donuts are made. I think the best time to come is between 5-8pm when the donuts are coming right out. I personally don't like the drive-through AI ordering screen, but when I pull up to the window I seem to always get the same cashier (older white lady with blonde/natural hair) and she always reconfirmed what I order and my tap to pay has been funky on multiple occasions and she's always extremely nice about it and patient and that's really hard to come by nowadays. I'm not usually a Krispy Kreme fan, but their heart-shaped donuts caught my eye on their app. It's the season for all things heart-shaped, so I decided to give them a try. I found the nearest location and indulged. To my surprise, they were actually pretty good! In the past, I've found Krispy Kreme donuts overly sweet, but these were a pleasant change. Why? Bc they are just the right size for me, not too fluffy or large and I really like the glazed chocolate. We ordered the half-dozen and we got the 2 seasonal ones: one was an apple-filled and the other I think was a pumpkin creme. This is the only Krispy Kreme location I know about and I wish they would open more in Sacramento!! We also tried the seasonal pumpkin spice latte and oh my goodness: it was better (and affordable) compared to Starbucks. The service was great given by the barista and the cashier. This place is great--but only if you're going for the glazed. And even then, only if they're hot. That's the real sweet spot. When those hot glazed donuts are fresh out of the kitchen, they're unreal. Soft, warm, melt-in-your-mouth good. Honestly some of the best glazed donuts out there when they're hot. Everything else? Just okay. The other varieties don't really hit the same, and cold glazed loses the magic fast. Donuts tasted good but the whole store was very dirty. The bathroom is really really gross and the paper machine is broken and towels keep dispensing onto the floor. It smelled terribly, there was some type of liquid on the floor, I hope not pee. The person behind the counter came out from the back and didn't wash hands once. And though they had gloves, they were handling money and donuts with the same gloved hand. There was no greeting when we entered, and there was no clarity on where to go for pickup vs ordering in store and our order was 15 minutes late which for us wasn't terrible because we had no obligations today, but could be bad for someone on a schedule. read more

I guess people equate donuts with breakfast for the most part, and I walked in mid-afternoon to get snacks for the family. $18 for a dozen donuts seems a little pricey, mainly because these are just run of the mill donuts (glazed, chocolate Kreme filled, and sprinkle). If Krispy Kreme offered voodoo style donuts they'd be worth the price, no question. I'm pretty sure I'll be back, but it may be a while. Always fresh, perfect fluffy donuts with fun themes and designs that are executed well. Even when it's a full house, the line moves quickly, the shop is quiet and you can be in and out or in and seated with donuts and coffee quickly. However, the employees are what makes this location special. The manager, David is friendly and helpful, the staff (shout out to Marissa and Angie) are always kind and they all seem to enjoy working with each other. I hope that Krispy Kreme recognizes that while these donuts are tried and true and you sort of know what to expect there, the staff here are above and beyond! They make every visit fun but this week they made our visit extra special as we just had to try the Harry Potter/Hogwarts donuts! We love trying the seasonal flavors but these are really something special! And the golden snitch latte - yum! Went here for the first time in forever, craving donuts. We used the AI ordering system in the drive-thru, which was not great (it removed & added things from/to our order because it misinterpreted what we were saying, and took much longer than it should have to get basic questions answered, for the same reason -- all leading to a frustrating ordering experience). Then, we arrive at the window & the elderly woman cashier asked if we'd ordered "X", which wasn't our order. So, she then proceeded to ask for our order (though we had just finished ordering using the AI). When I asked why we needed to order again, she replied, "Oh, that doesn't work [the AI ordering]", though our order was correct on the screen when we finished...and, she also said, "It mixes up online orders & drive thru orders". It sounded more like she didn't know how to tell which orders were which, so instead just decided to have us order again for her convenience (which was annoying, after using the unimpressive AI ordering), rather than fixing the underlying problem which was either her lack of understanding of their ordering system or an overall problem with their AI ordering system. The solution shouldn't be to aggravate customers by making them order twice due to a broken system or lack of training. The donuts were fantastic, as always The AI & customer service were terrible. read more
