I second what all the other reviewers have said about Kress. We absolutely love her. Personally, I do not enjoy (nor does my husband) decorating or shopping for furniture/decor, and I'm totally lame when it comes to color schemes. That's why Kress was so perfect for us. We basically told her what styles we liked and didn't like and she made it as easy as possible on us. When she found stuff she thought we'd like, she'd send us digital photos by email (always giving at least 2 or 3 options varying in price). Then, we'd tell her which we liked and she'd get it for us. Also, I'd send her links from time to time of things I needed but was too scared to buy on my own (see color lameness note above) and she'd either tell me to go for it or that it would not look good. She probably ended up saving us money on stuff I would have bought and then ended up hating! The other great thing about Kress is you can go as quickly or slowly as you like on your project -- and she'll break it up into chunks for you if you can't pay for it all at once. Anyway, can't say enough about her -- she's terrific!

Riley's "fairy room" - those are disney princesses in the picture frames - definitely her favorite part of the room!

She was wonderful to work with throughout the process. She was very consultative, caring and engaging. Florence would make color suggestions and listen intently to how I felt about each color and then she'd adjust the colors for each room accordingly. Florence visited the home numerous times throughout the color selection and painting process - before, during and after the painting was completed to ensure everything went smoothly. She worked closely with the painter to make sure that the colors selected for each room worked well together, and that the painter was well versed with the color selections. Florence is extremely talented and hardworking, and she was passionate about ensuring that I was thrilled with the final outcome, which I was. I would highly recommend Florence for anyone seeking to transform the interior of their home.

Because I was trying to keep to a budget, I wanted to select one color that worked in every room regardless of the different lighting. Florence arrived early, with large samples and knew exactly what I would like based on the inspiration pictures on my phone. I also happened to have a painter at the apartment at the same time who was pricing out the job and she briefed him on everything I needed so that I wouldn't have to. Not only that, but she made sure that I was getting a fair price for the labor and paint, which was not something she had to do. I completely trusted Florence and you can tell that she really cared that I would be happy with the results. The color we chose is gorgeous and I couldn't be happier. I'd hire Florence again in an instant.

I have specifically been working with Andrea, who has patiently answered a constant peppering of questions. The one question she didn't know the answer to offhand was thoroughly researched and followed up on. She also presented multiple options based on my room requirements in a custom PDF with photos, layouts, dimensions, fabric selections and prices in an easy to understand format -this is priceless in a world where too many choices can least to analysis paralysis. Regarding their products, they are one of the few companies that prioritize non-toxic and sustainable solutions. The furniture is built to last and very worth the investment. My only grievance is that I want it all and my small home won't allow me to!

She is easy and fun and pours everything into her projects and relationships. We had such a hard time working with our contractor on our reno, and I was so grateful for all of my time and back and forth with Corine because she, by contrast, was a dream. I honestly don't understand how any human can be so good at paint colors. What on planet earth is harder than paint colors!!?! Corine has this incredible talent for it -- she would flip through a deck (nay, decks!) and immediately narrow down to a few choices and then every single time for us, the perfect color was in there. One of my favorite things about how our renovation turned out and the thing I got the most compliments on is our paint colors. It's super clear that Corine loves design and something really cool about her is she wants her clients to have exactly what they want. Her tastes aside (she beautiful taste, obviously), she's just not one of those designers who only has one look/one vibe. She can deliver on anything and make it look amazing. I would work her again a million times over and had to come and leave a review. If your hesitant about working with a designer (as I was) give Corine a try and thank me later haha

To say we would use her team in the future is an absolute guarantee. When doing our research on designers, we knew we needed someone who was confident in their design aesthetic but flexible with ours, mindful but creative with budget considerations, and a brand/company who was passionate, professional, and hands-on - this IS CM Natural Designs. From the moment we decided to move forward, Corine and her team were ready and available to answer all of our logistical/design questions - they were professional, worked with our deadlines, SUPER organized, and the attention to detail was always evident in everything she and her team did. For our master bathroom, she helped us envision the look and feel and manipulated the space/design to reflect that. We wanted ours to be a complete juxtaposition between masculine (industrial look and feel of bathroom hardware and shower door) and feminine design elements (brushed gold details/decorative lighting). To say this was accomplished would be an understatement. We LOVE our bathrooms. The whole experience with CM Natural Designs, from start to finish, was as effortless as any renovation could possibly be. As there are ALWAYS bumps in the process of any renovation (i.e. contractor issues, unexpected costs, ect.), Corine and her team took ownership of our project and handled it with poise and professionalism from start to finish. We will absolutely use her team in the future and cannot recommend her company enough.

Zeus Remodeling - Landscape San Francisco

Zeus Remodeling

We worked with Zeus Remodeling for a project that amounted to a whole-house remodel (with…read morelandscaping) and were very satisfied with both the process and the end product. At the start of the project we set out to find a 'one stop shop' in that we were focused specifically on Design-Build firms who would help plan a vision and then execute to it. While my partner and I have strong aesthetic opinions neither of us are particularly creative and we were seeking a firm that could come in and present us with options that we could iterate on. Thankfully this turned out to be a strong match to Paul's artistic sensibilities. We interviewed several other firms through this process but none of them inspired the level of confidence or empathy in terms of what we were looking for. I should also call out Paul's skills in sketching as a tremendous tool in pre-visualizing options as we were discussing layouts or alternative designs An adjustment going into the process that led to a better outcome was recognizing that the project would evolve along the way. That can feel a little daunting going into a project of this magnitude but being prepared to adjust designs as new options presented themselves and being opportunistic worked out very well for us with the final result. While I suspect that some firms come with an attitude of 'give the client what they want but no more' in preservation of their margins I felt that Paul was constantly providing useful ideas and feedback - he was easily as invested in the project as we were and we benefited significantly in terms of the end result. Designs are nothing without execution however and I'm pleased to say that both Paul's subcontractors and the various vendors that he leveraged are true craftsmen. Clean lines throughout. Well fitted fixtures. As a tech/AV nerd who insisted on incorporating Cat8 wiring to every room and Dolby 7.1 Atmos Sound systems into several rooms I was encouraged that Paul's team were able to accommodate all the wiring requirements to specs that I provided. His team were even able to customize framing to accommodate built in wall speakers and other unreasonable requests. It's tempting to offer advice to others here because obviously we learned so much through the process. The one counterintuitive thing I will share, which Paul obviously knew but we learned by experience is that it's necessary to take your time getting to done. Moving back into the house post-remodel there are necessary adjustments to the work that only become apparent once you start to live there. Paul's team was very responsive in the months following the bulk of the project as needs arose and we felt supported working through the remaining small issues that came up. Would recommend to anyone seeking to take on a project like this, you'll be in good hands.

We also exchanged several emails, and I appreciated his willingness to dig up old information that I needed for insurance purposes. I think if you can get ahold of him or his team, they'll do a good job for you. They seem knowledgeable and capable in all things remodeling. My only demerit reflects the challenges I experienced in communications with them. They could invest in some processes, staff, or tools to make sure questions/requests don't fall through the cracks.

Kanika Design - Los Altos hill home remodel and kitchen remodel

Kanika Design

Kanika is an extremely talented designer, and I can't recommend her enough!…read more We bought a house in March 2020 - signed the contract days before covid stay at home orders. My husband and I then spent two years working from home together in our front room (we call it the study now) without any rhyme or reason, just putting our desks wherever they fit, because it all happened so quickly. It was awkward and ugly, cords and monitors everywhere, and not a great look for people walking in our front door. The whole time, I was thinking, "when this is done and at least one of us goes back to the office, I want to make this room into a nice space to read and relax, and also to WFH when I have to." That's where Kanika comes in. I tried changing the place up on my own, but every choice I made seemed to make my space uglier and more awkward. It was time to hire a professional. That decision was worth every penny. In the end, my project turned out to be slightly bigger than just one room. I enlisted Kanika's help in choosing flooring, baseboards and paint for the whole house, furniture for my entire downstairs (we were still using the old living room furniture left by the previous owners), and light fixtures throughout. She was easy to work with and understood immediately what I was going for. My study is a real showstopper now - the walls are this deep blue color that looks amazing, she designed a gorgeous custom bookshelf that makes perfect use of the space, and she picked a couch that is the perfect size, just the right color, and so comfortable. And we still managed to get a desk in there for those WFH days. Literally just the other day, I was on a Zoom with someone and thought "this room behind me is so pretty, it looks like a fake background." But it's real, and in my house! And it wouldn't have happened without Kanika. The paint color she helped me pick for my bedroom is something I never would have chosen on my own, but I still regularly think about how nice it looks whenever I go in there. Same with the color of the living room couch, I'd never have found it on my own, but now that I have it, I love it. She knows her stuff. Kanika's husband Adi runs the business side of things. He managed the project, hiring contractors and keeping everything on schedule. The work was done on time, and he kept us in the loop, patiently answering any concerns or questions. And, no shenanigans with the final cost. Really, hiring Kanika Design was a great decision for us.
