The food was exactly what I would expect and want from the area. Krain's has generous portions and down home farmhouse style fare. Is it outstanding? No, but it's good. The place has A LOT of interesting history, including a bakery. This place is hopping on the weekends so be patient. Food doesn't come out quickly but the staff is pleasant and efficient. After your meal, you will notice the bakery off to the left as you leave...it's literally a sign saying "but wait, there's more".....and you can't help yourself because it smells amazing. We didn't get the cinnamon buns and wished we had. We bought cookies instead. They weren't fantastic but our standards are pretty high. The ambiance is eclectic and the walls are covered with history and stories/photos of the place and the town throughout the decades. It is, literally, the oldest building around and will satisfy any history buff. I would give it 3.5 stars. The food is good. Not fantastic. Just good. I won't get the cookies again but I would get a cinnamon roll. To sum it up, Krain's has good ol' down home country fare that has been frequented by hard working, salt of the earth Americans since the early 1800's (yep, you read that right). This place is an institution and there aren't too many of these left anymore. So.....will we go back? Hell, yeah!

Krain Corner is history and it's a historic place for sure! Its is a house which got converted to a restaurant, you get the old charm in there once you enter. The place is maintained pretty well and can accommodate more than 50 people at once. We went for Saturday brunch and have enjoyed our meal. The Veggie sandwich was a bit bland and lacked the taste, the French Toast was like a warm blanket filled with love. For someone who prefers a smaller portion of French Toast, this is the place to go. Biscuits and gravy were so tasty and fresh. Don't miss this place for breakfast if you are in Enumclaw/Black Diamond/Maple Valley areas.

We had some friends visiting and figured we'd stop by for brunch. The food was actually really good and had good flavor. You could tell most of it was all homemade. We had the veggie omelette. A cheeseburger. A jalapeño and avocado breakfast burrito. Captains platter and a cheese omelet. Every person in our group enjoyed what they ate. There was a Downside however. We arrived at 12:15pm. Ordered our food within 15 minutes and it took an hour for our food to come out. So it was 1:15 at that point. My son that was with us had an appointment at 2pm so he was left having to scramble to eat his food and we ended up taking most of his home. Our waitress was pleasant my only complain would be that once she took our order we never saw her again. She didn't come by to make sure the food was ok or if we wanted anything else. If you have several hours to kill this is the place to go. If you don't you might look for someplace different. Food. 9/10 Service 4/10 (3 of those go to the bussers that helped us twice when we needed something.

I like the food here. First time trying it, and I was blown away by its taste. Service was decent.

Proper Patty ($11) - This burger comes with two smash patties, both of which are heavily salted and somewhat crisped up - the pictures from other people make it seem like they cook long enough to get lacy caramelized edges, but it's not quite to that point. Instead, the burgers, while not moist and fatty, aren't dried out either, and give a great beefy flavor. The burger sauce adds some tangy sweetness, and some pickles on top adds even more sweetness, but a very fresh crunch. It's otherwise pretty standard with the lettuce and tomato. A solid smashburger. (4/5) Fries ($5) - These are fried enough to give a crust on the potatoes, but not enough for the fries to be come crisp. Still, they aren't floppy, so while not entirely crisp, these are still good for eating especially since the insides are nice and fluffy. They are salted a lot, which combined with the salty dip (we went with the Bud's Sauce), equals a parched mouth after eating. I think they actually use a lime salt or something as I can detect a bit of citrus flavor. The Bud's Sauce is a nice mayochup mixture with I think a bit of smokiness from paprika and some chopped onion. It's sweet, tangy, and salty. (4/5) Overall Burger Buds serves some nice classic smashburgers! It's great for a visit while in town for a quick and easy meal.

Solid 3.5 overall…read more We like this place but I probably ordered the wrong thing on the menu - the vermicelli bowl with peanut sauce and the nuac Cham sauce. While the salmon BLT and grilled turkey sandwiches were fine, the bowl was not. The nuac Cham sauce had no fish sauce or taste and the peanut sauce did not taste like peanut sauce and was super thick. It was a bit weird with pickles at the bottom. Normally, the dish has jalapeño and the cucumbers are cut in strips v. Slices. The noodles seemed overcooked. The Portions are decent. We give the sandwiches 4 stars but the bowl is a 3 for taste. Everything else is good- service, average noise. Street parking but fairly easy to find a spot close by.

The poutine is what we started with, the fries were piping hot, the gravy was rich and delicious, and did I mention there was bacon jam in there? Since we had the poutine as an appetizer, we opted to get salads instead of the side fries for our burgers and sandwiches. I have to admit this is one of the most impressive side salads I've ever had. The greens were so fresh! On special they had their homemade clam chowder which checked all the boxes, it had a great balance of meat to potato to herb. I will be dreaming about this for the rest of my life. If you see it on special you need to get it. My group ordered the mushroom burger, the the bacon jamburger, and the French dip which we split three ways. And when I tell you we fought over keeping our own. I am not lying. The burgers were juicy, the toppings were generous and well balanced. The French dip had roast beef that just melted in your mouth. For the first time. I don't think I needed the au jus. One of my party ordered the truffle gnocchi with wild mushrooms. I don't know how, but it was somehow light, not too rich, and the gnocchi soft pillows had the perfect fluffy texture. We did have to take most of our food home because the portions were generous. And somehow the gnocchi reheated. Well. I'm going to call that a miracle. All in all, if you're anywhere near Enumclaw you need to go here. We made the trip from Puyallup because my dad could not stop raving about the poutine. Next time I'm in town. I will be back!

FARMHOUSE BREW: WHERE'S MY EMOTIONAL SUPPORT GOAT?…read more Look, their pour-over coffee is nothing short of miraculous - each cup personally blessed by what I assume must be artisanal coffee angels. BUT WHERE ARE THE BABY GOATS IN PAJAMAS? I arrived fully expecting to sip my artisanal latte while a miniature donkey named Espresso gently headbutted my knee for attention. Their single-origin Ethiopian roast? Divine. The tasting notes include hints of blueberry and jasmine. You know what DOESN'T include blueberry and jasmine? THE CONSPICUOUS ABSENCE OF A CHICKEN COOP NEXT TO THE SUGAR STATION. I brought three different types of organic chicken feed IN CASE THEY HAD A PREFERENCE. Sure, their cold brew is steeped for 19 hours in pristine mountain water collected by monks. But let's talk about what's really important: I've been here SEVEN TIMES and have yet to see a single sheep wearing a hand-knitted sweater waddle up to me asking for oat milk foam leftovers. I even bought a tiny shepherd's crook FOR NOTHING. The baristas can discuss coffee terroir with PhD-level precision, but can they tell me why there isn't a pot-bellied pig named Lord Bacon III greeting customers at the door? I specifically came wearing my rubber boots today, prepared to stand in authentic farm mud while ordering my cappuccino. Their seasonal spiced latte is a masterpiece of flavor balance. Whatever. I've been sitting here for two hours and not once has a heritage breed rooster named Colonel Clucksworth interrupted my laptop time with his perfectly timed morning crow. The ambiance is SEVERELY lacking in authentic farm chaos. Listen, the recycled barn wood aesthetic is cute and all, but you can't just slap some Edison bulbs on a ceiling and call yourself "Farmhouse" without providing at least ONE alpaca in a bow tie who judges people's coffee orders with gentle humming sounds. Five stars for their coffee program - their commitment to craft is undeniable. But NEGATIVE FARM ANIMAL stars for creating false hopes of being able to share my morning scone with a dairy cow named Ms. Moochiato. I've started a petition to add at least a small petting zoo corner. So far I have three signatures, including one that might just be a coffee stain that looks like a signature. P.S. I heard they're expanding their patio next month. I've already drafted architectural plans that include a miniature barn where therapy chickens can host coffee cupping sessions. I'm willing to negotiate on the chicken sweater designs. P.P.S. The pastries are excellent, though they would taste demonstrably better if delivered by a pygmy goat wearing a tiny apron and name tag. I've done the research - goat-delivered croissants increase customer satisfaction by 427%. Note: To the staff who keep explaining that "Farmhouse" refers to their rustic aesthetic - I understand, but have you considered that your tip jar would overflow if you just added one (1) baby lamb in rain boots who helps steam milk? Just one. That's all I'm asking for. I already have the rain boots in three sizes. Special Addendum: I'm not saying your business model is flawed, but I am saying that every coffee shop is improved by the addition of a miniature horse barista apprentice named Macchiato McFoamerson III.
