We decided to stop by with our 3 year old. It could be when we came but the service was fast and very responsive. It was about 2pm on Sunday. Our server kept coming back and asking about us (in a good way) and he was giving out high fives and peek a bo with our son when coming by. He really didn't need to but the extra was great and our son loved it. The food was really good. We did hot pot and bbq and it was pricey but all you can eat. They also provided a tablet to order more items, however server was very attentive to our needs as well. First time visiting on Saturday at 12pm and there was no waitlist so that's a plus. Our hostess/waitress was attentive and always checked on us. The sauce bar had many selection to choose from and is clean. Ambiance is ok as surrounding noise is loud so sometimes it's difficult to hear from your guest that sits across from you at a booth. On top of that the ventilation tube is centered on the table to a position where I could not see my guest, it blocks your view so you would need to slide left or right from your seat to see. When it's time to order food it's nice to make selection on a tablet. We were warned that the slicer machine is out of service and will take a short bit to get it working again. So all our selection of food item came out quick, even hot pot soup, except meat. Table size will need to be bigger when choosing both bbq and hotpot. We literally had to stack small plates on top of one another to make it all fit. I choose tomato soup base and flavor was bland so anything I add in the soup definitely will need to be dunked in dipping sauce. Most likely I will not visit again. read more

We have been coming to KPOT for a while, we started at the bellaire location and then came to the new one in Webster. The food was good as always, but this time the service was not good. I understand that there is a 2 hour time limit per table, but our server kept on nagging us about the time limit and it was already an hour before closing time. There were plenty of other tables available for other parties. We had ordered our last round of meat, and then maybe 10-15 minutes after our server started coming by like every 5 minutes reminding us we had reached our limit and it was time for us to go, and even said the manager said it was time for us to go. So we felt like we were being rushed out the door despite us not being finished with our food and having raked up a high tab. I despise having to write negative reviews. I don't do it often, BUT: Not a good experience, can't recommend this place. We were seated in a side room with some sort of dish cleaning station for employees on one end of room. Constant foot traffic, loud, and all we listened to was servers flirting and gossiping during our meal. Service was terrible. Rather than a waiter taking our order you have to use a tablet to let them know what you would like (noodles, veggies, meats, etc). Not a fan of this method. I ordered udon noodles. It too 30 minutes (this was after my wife received all of her items) for them to deliver the noodles to our table. I was shocked to see I was served a frozen block of noodles. Unbelievable and for the prices they charge, unacceptable. My wife was done with her hot pot meal before my frozen brick of dough arrived at our table. Our waiter was not good. He rarely came around and when he stop by he was condescending. I asked again about my noodles and he told us "the wifi is goes out sometimes" and this was the reason I was noodle-less for most of the meal. Our waiter did stick around when it was time to pay however. Stood around our table, uncomfortably close I might add, until I used to card machine to pay. One other thing: all of the bowls (for sauces) and the bbq burner at the table were still wet from dishwashing and cleaning. Not a huge deal but still a bit off putting. We were told that we needed to leave because it had been 2 hours. We didn't order or eat very much. It took approximately 15 minutes to 20 minutes from the time we sat down for our food to arrive. So it actually wasn't a full 2 hours. Our son eats very slowly. My husband and I were finished eating but we were waiting for our son to finish eating his meal. We had already payed the bill, well before the 2 hour mark (which we were not told about) and hadn't ordered any more food. We were just waiting for our son to finish eating what was already on his plate. We were not told up front that there would be a time limit. There was also no sign disclosing this. If they had told us we probably would not have stayed there because our son eats so slow. When I am spending $150 on a lunch. I expect to be able finish it. If we were ordering tons of food and stuffing our faces I could understand but we are just a normal family with a slow eater. The food was ok. Apparently, the printed menu was not up to date. We were shown more options on a tablet. The hotpot choice of veggies was limited with bokchoy and spinach being the two main vegetables. The atmosphere was ok. It was busy and bustling and there were carts bussing tables and it it difficult to get to the sauce bar, desserts, and snacks. To top it all off, we get our bill and it was for full buffet for 5 people, but there were only 4 persons in my party. When I questioned the waitress she said her manager took the head count and he would have to change it. Then, the bill came back with 4 full dinner buffets charged and we told the waitress that we had told her that only 3 of us would be eating and the 4th person only wanted something to drink, even so, it was just water. Then she called the manager again and I asked if they charged rent for taking up space to which he said no. The manager then stated that the fourth person had eaten. We admitted that she had tasted 3 bites of different meats, pork belly, steak and spicy pork belly. Additionally, that person had 3 spoonfuls of white rice. The manager said, "Well I have to charge for something". At this point, I told him that was not fair and hardly worth the price of $36 for the full buffet with hot pot. I told him to just go ahead and charge me and he said they has a "snack" menu item and would only charge $7.95. All in all, I've had better food, better service, and better treatment. Great and unusual place to have an active role in making your own unique and wonderful soup. There are several soup base flavors, and lots of meats, seafood, and vegetables to make a wonderful "K Pot". My Wife and I went there today for a wonderful Sunday lunch, and enjoyed every minute of it. Each time we go here, we learn a little bit more on how to do it better. I really wanted to love this place. I did... Pros: Loved their peanut sauce and our waiter was very friendly. Cons: Holy chaos. The whole thing is a chaotic mess. When you add your name to the list, you have to tell them if you want hot pot, bbq or both. We had no idea. We had never been here before! Our quoted wait was 30 min to 1 hr, while half of the tables sat empty. The vibe is video arcade mixed with Chuck E Cheese. It's pretty frantic. We were seated in a tiny side room (maintenance closet?) with 3 tables. Behind our heads was a makeshift bus station with piles of metal, hot pot/grill equipment. Every 5 min, someone came in and tossed more metal onto the pile. It was so loud, we jumped every time and once, our waiter had to ask them to stop throwing things onto the pile so we could hear him talk. Every 30 min, the pile toppled to the tile floor, which also made us jump and scream a little during our meal. We cringed every time someone came in the room. Good times. The sauce, "appetizer" & dessert station offers small, ramekin sized bowls that you will want 5 of if you actually want more than sauce at said station. Your desserts/fruit chunks are to be crammed into these tiny bowls as well, I'm guessing? Strange. People reach over all of the sauces to get what they need and drop glops of other sauces, spices, etc. into all the others. It's a mess. I did like some of the meat options, but several things were served to our table frozen solid. Wasn't sure how to grill frozen meat. Like I said, I really wanted to like it. I just can't. My daughter was so excited to try it out, but none of want to return because the execution was just that awful. I hope they read all of the comments and re-think some major elements. I'd like to see improvements made so this place succeeds in the long term. And for the love, please get guests OUT of the maintenance closet/bussing station. Tables don't belong in there. Maybe, at a minimum, get the metal equipment piled on the floor in the corner moved somewhere more appropriate or just stop chunking things onto the pile behind their heads while the guests are eating?
