They're okay. They're close to my house but I stopped going to them because of my last experience. I added on a regular manicure after my pedicure. No gel. And it was not good. Maybe it's because I added it on at the last minute, but I decided that although my pedicure was nice, my overall experience that day was disappointing. The only reason I recommend this place is because the experience I had that day was atypical and I usually only go for pedicures. The acrylic and/or gel manicures are probably better. Change your hours! Got here right at 9am on a weekday. There was a lady working with a customer, and she said that people make their own hours here and someone could come in at 9:44, 9:06, or 10. The customer she was with even said people start trickling in late. The employee told me I could wait around for a bit or run errands first. So I decided to wait about 10 minutes. By 9:10, another customer came in and as soon as she walked in, the employee yelled, "Just come back at 10!" I was a bit shocked. That lady looked at her and said, "No thanks, I'll go somewhere else." I ended up leaving with that lady. Change your hours. If you open at 10, change it to 10. I recently got shellac nails 4 days ago...the polish on my pinky completely came off after I showered and most of my nails already have very noticeable chips on them. I was very disappointed with my service last week as the person who did my nails actually let me leave with some white polish on the back of my hand (how does that even happen and how are you okay with leaving a client like that???) and with white polish around my nails. I wish I had noticed before I left but the fact that she probably saw that and didn't fix it is completely unacceptable. I mean, I could have just done my nails myself. KP Nails has been around for a long time. My mom used to bring me since she worked down the street. I used to think they were decent, but that was just because they were the only nail salon I had been to. After trying out other places, I now realize that they are less than mediocre. Yes, most of them are very sweet and will still recognize you but quality services need to match that. I paid ~$55 for nails that were supposed to last about two weeks that only lasted about 4 days. Not a happy customer. I'm happy that I was able to be seated and worked on immediately without an appointment, BUT I felt like Tina rushed me the whole time during my pedicure. She did a poor job at cutting my toenails and cuticles. I knew I should have left when I questioned if the tools she was using were clean. She said that they clean the tools "daily." To appease me, she got up rinsed off the nippers and pretended like she grabbed new tools from the sterilizer. I let it slide and didn't call her out. But all hell broken loose when she started painting my nails because she didn't even let the base coat dry before she slapped on new polish. Also, she wiped off the base coat on my big toe because she needed to cut a piece of cuticle that she missed and she didn't put a new base coat on! Once I expressed my concern, she muttered something in her native language and Lisa had to finish the job so that Tina could start on a new customer. After Lisa finished painting my toenails she walked me straight to the register. The whole time I'm thinking "can I let my nails dry before you start asking for money?" All in all, there are too many nail salons in VB to settle for a rushed pedicure. If you do plan on coming here, don't get Tina. read more

I only get my nails did like twice a year, I usually go in for a regular Pedicure and Gel Manicure $50 total. I feel like their prices are reasonable and you get what you pay for. Jackie was my nail tech, she was very sweet and started a conversation with me. I came in on a Tuesday around 6, it was slow when I was there, so she worked on me right away. I was probably there for two hours total. She really took her time. The only reason why it's not 5 stars is because I wanted more of a massage, a bit more pampering on my feet and hands. My pedicure was great but when I asked if it was a good time to put my shoes back on the tech said it was fine they were dry - turns out they were ruined when I got home. So that sucks. For my nails I got shellac and when he asked whether I wanted them cut down I said no just filed...then out comes the nail clippers. It was too late to stop it. I don't get nails often, Lisa doesn't do the nails. That is the one thing I don't like having done because it weakens my natural nails. Tbh I moved to Virginia over a year ago and since then I never found a professional salon which is not overpriced or decent quality . This was a coincidence since their studio is next to a lot of other shops I have visited and I gave it a try. From the moment I walked in , I felt welcome. The nice lady at the front desk , welcomed me in a nice tone and asked me what I was here for. Since I needed an acrylic filling , I told her so - and since I am cautious, I asked for the price : 25$! Which was the best price I've heard so far , and I am still a student ! I accepted and the lady showed me table number 8 , which is Tony. I don't want to insult anyone when I say, that the owners , employees are Asian , because I am not from America either so my English is also not the best. They spoke fluent and very clean English which made me feel in so good hands. I never tried anything else then acrylic or gel - but tiny explained so much , what i could do , what he is going to do, what he recommend . It was very professional . So I came back today for a new set , but I didn't pause for about 8 month on my acrylic nails so they were really thin and sensitive . We switched to a manicure plus shellac and I haven't paid over 40$! Usually I tip about 5$ but I never tip unter 7$ with him because he is my favorite person now. I have been to KP Nails 3 times now. The first two times were for pedicures which were okay, but very rushed. The nail polish was very thin and needed more coats than they put and the lady did not massage my feet/legs at all . I went in today for a manicure and it was also rushed through. Within an hour a big chip had broken off of the polish and half of a nails polish came off a few hours later. As I was sitting waiting for my friend to finish with her manicure, I noticed tools and pumice stones were only rinsed in between different pedicures and the tub for the water was wiped out but not sprayed with cleaner. Needless to say I will be asking for my money back tomorrow and won't ever be returning to get my nails done. read more

I got a manicure at 2pm. By 3pm the next day, the polish had begun coming off all of my nails. By 5pm, three of my nails had no polish on them at all, and 5 of my nails had lost at least half the polish.
