This review is about One Touch Nail Spa near Nimmo Parkway in Virginia Beach. On July 10, 2025, I came in to have my artificial nails removed so I could start fresh. At first, a gentleman began the removal process, and he was very gentle and careful. Unfortunately, partway through, another technician named Mimi took over. While she was clipping my nails, one of the clippings flew into my left eye, which startled me and caused pain that I still feel to this day. What disappointed me most was that she did not apologize; instead, she simply commented, "Oh, it got into your eye? We deal with that all the time in this job." I found that response dismissive and unprofessional. I have also noticed that pricing at this salon is inconsistent, with different technicians quoting different rates for the same service. When I asked about the price difference, Mimi responded in a way that felt dismissive, almost as if she didn't believe me, even though the records should have shown what I was charged previously. Another concern is that Mimi has made negative remarks about other salons I've visited, questioning where I had my nails done and laughing at their work. I found this behavior unprofessional and uncomfortable. In the past, I also experienced poor service quality. For example, before traveling overseas, I had a full set done here. By the next day, my nails were bubbling, peeling, and bleeding color. Unfortunately, I had to spend an entire month abroad with my nails in that condition. When I returned and informed the salon, they offered no compensation or courtesy to make it right, despite the fact that I was a regular customer. Based on these experiences, I no longer feel comfortable returning to One Touch Nail Spa, especially while Mimi is working there [don't matter she owns that place which that's even worse] I believe customers deserve consistent pricing, respectful treatment, and professional service. Unfortunately, my experiences have fallen short of that standard. read more

I will say that Mimi as a nail tech is very talented and honestly, I would've become a regular customer spending over 200 at every visit if it weren't for my last interaction with her. In my last visit with her, I sent her an inspiration pic a week ahead of time, when it came to my appointment, I showed her a color that I would like, she went to get a bottle, but never showed it to me for my approval so when I saw it, it was a little too dark, I thought it would be fine to ask to go lighter as none of the polish had yet to be applied to my nails. However, she threw her arms up and GROANEDDD to the point that everyone in the salon started STARINGG. It was loud enough that another tech stared at me and stated that I had done something wrong. I immediately panicked and started apologizing, I wasn't sure if she was actually mad or just joking. But the fact that she minimally spoke to me for the next hour and a half, made it very clear that she was upset. The nails did turn out very well, and I did have an appointment for a pedicure afterwards, so I stayed, but her response definitely made me extremely anxious and uncomfortable. Thinking back on it, considering the nails were at $105, I still tipped her $20, and none of the polish had yet to be applied to my nails, I don't think it was that outrageous to ask to change colors. First off, they lie about their prices. Kim did my nails, and charged me $60 for SNS, and a mediocre manicure. She soaked my nails in cold water for approx 10 seconds, and then trimmed my cuticles without any real effort. When it was time for the SNS, she did a sloppy and quick job. My nails looked like wide blobs. I was no happy. When it was time to check out, my friend who had a soak off and the same SNS set done, was charged $45 and I was charged $60. A couple weeks before this, I had gone there to get my toes done, and while they did a decent job, I should have known they were sketchy with their prices. When we were picking our pedicure package, the price on the "menu" was $40. She quickly said $50. I said, no the price clearly says $40 and she told me that was an "old" price. Well why did they have it out then? Shady business practices, and sloppy work. Save your money and go elsewhere! read more

I always start my reviews with 5 stars and then remove stars as things are not within standard. When I walked into the place it was nice at first glance but then I quickly saw how run down everything was. Run down cracked old salon chairs and stools. The decor is old with dust all over the top of them. The music was relaxing. When I was adjusting my chair the lady told me that I pressed the buttons too many times. She got mad at me and asked when I was going to stop. Oh I didn't know there was a limit. The normal pedicure is $25 I asked how much with gel and the price jumped to $45. I don't know why I stayed but I did. Maybe I stayed to give them a chance. I still don't understand how it's $20 extra for gel polish. I asked but she kept saying "$25 normal pedicure and $45 gel polish" The chair I sat in was ripped and old. The other chairs appeared the same. I was pressing buttons on the chair to be comfortable and the lady literally stopped the pedicure and asked if I was ok (in a mean tone) I said I'm fine. When I pressed buttons again she stopped the pedicure and said "you press button too many times." When she started to use the foot grater thing I asked her nicely to stop. She said "I have to, you're foot is dry" I asked her again to stop using it and she did. My pedicure ultimately looked ok but the service was bad, the ambiance was old and tattered and I'll never go back again. read more

I have gone here several times and this is been my favoritego to salon to do my manicure and pedicure or my mom introduced me and I have always been pleased with their service everyone here is very friendly from my past experiences in other nail salons it's hard to communicate with them. I like to have detailed design and sometimes I request for a unique style of nail art that nobody knows how to do but I've never been disappointed because Eric always pulls it off well. I like that Eric knows what he's doing with my nails and is a very skilled worker. Dire need to get my pits waxed. Came in and told them that I need them done, they directed me to the back and was told to lay on the salon chairs. The lady greeted me and started waxing away. She plucked the rest. After you're done you pay upfront at the register. It was $15 and I tipped $5. I was in a rush when so I didn't get to take a second look at my pits. I used to love coming here. I think they have gotten new owners as well as new staff since the last time I came here in 2016. Anyways I came here today for a pedicure. I was not happy with how my polish came out. I gave the lady a gel polish because I like how much longer the gel pedicures last. Well I guess I should have said I wanted a gel pedicure because she painted the polish as if it was a regular polish and also did not cure it with the uv light so it didn't even dry completely before I even left the salon. I went to this salon for the first time yesterday. I got a fill and a gel polish. I could see how sloppy the paint was going on and asked my nail technician to clean up the edges. This is how my nails looked after she "cleaned them up" and when I left the salon. It looks like my seven year old painted my nails. A man who seemed to be the owner was standing right there and never walked over to ask me if I was happy with my nails or what the problem was. Well I called and tried to make an appointment with him for a Sunday and was told rudely by staff that there are only walk-ins available on Sunday. So I show up at 11am and wait for them to open the doors, about 5 minutes late, before being told he wouldn't be available because someone had an appointment with him. I had two delightful experiences with Mimi. She was friendly and did a great job on my nails, and I tipped her generously. On Tuesday, I returned for another service. I tried to engage her in conversation to no avail. She barely spoke to me, but carried on with coworkers in her native language. When she had finished with me, I expressed to her that my feelings were hurt. She ignored me and muttered something to a coworker. I puzzled and hurt as to why she treated me in such a way. I highly recommend setting an appointment with Eric. He is very talented in nail art. If I find a picture of a nail design I want to recreate he is always able to. I have even let him try his own art ideas on my nails and I've never been disappointed. I get several compliments on my nails per day and I'm constantly asked where I get them done. Prices are seemingly average. On my last visit I got a gel fill-in with French tips and a pedicure with French toes which cost $55 total. The pedicure chairs are massage chairs with so many different settings I couldn't decide which to use. I definitely didn't want to get up! I had to find another salon for my nails after repeatedly getting the runaround about wait times and the nail technician that was supposed to do my work! In addition to this, I was burned by the waxing two times in a row! The final straw was when I pointed out a nail polish color that I wanted, and a tech happened to be wearing the same color! When she finished, I told her that the color didn't look like the one that I asked for? Upon my next visit, when I was just getting my nails done and I pointed out that the color wasn't the same as the one the nail tech was wearing, she claimed that she had changed polish!! I liked the color so much that I had written it down AND my SNL was Vietnamese! And what she had actually said when I asked the 1st time was " there's not enough left!! I have long nail and toe beds.
