Ordered via Doordash and the food came pretty quickly between ordering and the driver picking it up. The food is reasonably priced for what you're getting, which is decent sushi. I would love to come back to try their rolls as well.

Always happy with Kozo Sushi Kapahulu. Everything I tasted yet was sooo delicious . Employees super nice!Thank you!

Fast food sushi... That doesn't make it any less delicious though how the expanded their menu is quite amazing. I remember way back in the day that my parents would order sushi for not just the New Years gathering but any with their friends and order a platter of sushi that was always done beautifully. What I do love that everything is made to order as many places may do so but do have some items grab and go but not here it's all made to order but doesn't mean that you'd wait forever for it as they do work efficiently the problem is for you to decide what you want is easier said than done with so many options but my favorite are the hand rolls since the completion isn't done until you unravel the nori from the wrapper so it's always nice and crunchy. Love this Kapahulu location with decent amount of free parking it shares with a few other biz which can get crowded but the option to have it is nice and convenient along with a quick stop at Jamba or Starbucks lol! The staff here is very nice as we had a nice conversation about Japan her dream destination there isn't seating in the very tiny and cozy shop but do have some tables outside which are usually taken by regulars so it's more of a stop and shop location. Thank you!

I recently had a potluck to attend and decided that a sushi platter would be perfect! I looked at Yelp reviews and chose the Kozo Sushi at this location. I was not disappointed. I called my order in and the young woman I spoke to was friendly and helpful. My Sushi Platter was ready for pickup on time. Chopsticks, Napkins and Shoyu was available if needed. Everything was packaged and presented very nicely. The assorted Sushi was fresh and delicious. It was also affordable and well worth it! At the potluck, the Sushi I brought was the first to be eaten up. I will definitely be back to get Sushi and highly recommended this Kozo Sushi location.

    Online Happy hour ad

I'm usually happy with Kozo Sushi kapahulu but I guess they don't honor their ads for happy hour. It said that the happy hour pricing was 20% off AND buy 3 get 1 free hand roll. When we get there to pay, they say it's one or the other, then fix your ad since it's posted online and says double but is misspelled.

Hand rolls. Crab cucumber is my fave.

Nestled next to Starbucks it is not clearly visible from the street. I usually go to the one in kahala. This one has way more parking and much friendlier service. I came around 4:45 and to my surprise it was happy hour hand rolls. Buy 3 get 1 free! I was delighted to hear it, love a good deal. Now that I know this I will be coming back again. I got 3 crab cucumber rolls a Natto roll. All were perfect. Lots of pictures of the different menu items so it's easy for you to see what you are getting and good for kids too. Seating area outside is a bit unkept and could use a power wash but that's on building management. I took mine to the park and ate it. Will be back for some more happy hour hand rolls.

They gave me cut spam not warmed up and no sauce. Def go to another Kozo if possible for spam roll.

Def go to another location for spam roll. They took away the sauce and it's just raw spam inside. If you like that go for it. If not gotta go somewhere else. I asked if that's normal and the main guy there said yes. I didn't want that again so I left. No money back offer.

I ordered from Uber Eats, and I have to say it was tasty. I got the Tsunami Maki, Spicy Ahi Maki, Ahi and Salmon Nigiri, garlic soybeans, miso soup and gyoza. Everything was fresh and good. The garlic soybeans were just a little salty but not enough to make me stop eating them. I will be ordering again!

Update on this Kozo Sushi located on Kapahuluu next to Starbucks. I'm not sure if this location is franchise but it's totally different feel from other other 2 location I normally go to. For example they just give your sushi as is. They charge for a bag like a grocery store lol. The King st and the Kahala location at least put your hand roll or maki sushi in a plastic bag free of charge . Also this location is high tech their menu board is all digital and it's hard to read. Also they have a computer so you can put in your order and pay by a card so you don't have to wait for a counter person . It's totally different from the other Kozo sushi . Plus the person at the counter made a mistake on my order . I'll probably not return to this particular Kozo sushi in the future. I will definitely go to my usual Kozo location. The worker in the front had the best customer service (09/21/23 @ around 2pm)! she was so sweet and attentive and just for that, i will definitely be coming back again. i ordered the ahi lovers set and a habanero hand roll. for both the total came out to about $18 + a few cents for the paper bag. which isn't bad at all, considering sushi at safeway and food land can cost the same if not more. the sushi was great especially for the price, habanero roll wasn't that spicy but my spice tolerance is very high lol. interior was well kept and the vibe of the place was relaxed.

Awhile back, someone posted a photo on Facebook of a sushi platter for her dinner and I decided then and there that would be on my bucket list - a sushi platter all to myself. Well, I couldn't really eat all of it myself but it was super fun to try. Kozo Kapahulu has awesome happy hour deals, etc. that other kozos don't (I called a couple of other locations, and they had no idea what I was talking about - made me feel a lil crazy). Anyway, Kozo Kapahulu's Black Friday deals were for discounts on gift cards, and an unbelievable price for a platter of sushi, oh, and a deal on a spicy ahi bowl - so I told the family to ditch the thanksgiving leftovers, and they could help eat my leftovers from the sushi platter, haha. The aloha platter was huge with lots of fresh fish - ahi, aka (my fave), egg (let the kiddies enjoy that), and shrimp and salmon (other faves). Also love the small rolls, cucumber, daikon, and ahi that are covered in nori. I didn't quite make my goal of eating a whole platter myself, but I also did enjoy the spicy ahi bowl and an unagi roll (free for signing up for five stars!). I've also used the yelp ordering for super easy and quick pick up. This is a great and convenient location after visiting the zoo and other spots around Kapahulu, too!

While at a high price point, everything included in the sets were refillable so it was filling even if the entree portion itself may not seem like it. From the chicken to pork, shrimp, beef and poke, I didn't think there was anything that was lacking in flavor. If there was a way to order the macaroni salad as a side instead of just with the kid's entree, I totally would have. Even with reservation, it took us a while to get seated. But this was also the aunties ensuring we were going to sit together instead of two groups, so they waited for tables to open up to accommodate us, in addition to allowing us to be seated earlier (~30min), so I couldn't complain. And when another table opened up, without even asking, they pushed the table close to us again to allow for more space while we were already seated before our entrees came. The hospitality was so nice it felt like we were in Japan again. Super small shop but well worth it.

This was my first visit to their new location, just downstairs from the old one. The new location is much more spacious and feels brighter than before. It feels a lot less cramped inside. It took about an hour from when we were seated until we got our food - I don't really remember having to wait that long before - but all was forgiven when the food arrived. Service was friendly but a little bit absent during the wait, but for whatever reason improved dramatically once the food actually arrived (or maybe just my mood improved!). Since we didn't get reservations we had to do walk in. The waitlist didn't seem bad when we first signed up but it took forever to finally get a table. It was a hot day so we were waiting outside, for nearly an hour. There were only like two or three parties ahead of us on the waitlist. We finally got seated and the people right after us on the list got seated at the same time (they put their name 15 min after us). I would not recommend the waitlist, since it's not consistent. The food itself is always delicious. The new space was nice (and larger). Our server was very nice also. We both got tonkatsu. I got the mizore and my partner got the sizzling one. I appreciate the choices of rice and miso soup. I really enjoyed my Shiso rice and the white miso soup. I think even though I enjoyed the ground daikon but I also think I would've been happy with just a regular tonkatsu, similar for the sizzling platter.

Izakaya Mitch's specializes more in cooked dishes while the other side is more about the fresh / raw fish. But that didn't stop us from ordering the assorted sashimi. All the fish were from Japan and yes you can taste the difference. The fatty tuna was obviously my favorite but even the regular tuna and the hamachi was so buttery, it just melts in your mouth. Plus, it comes with real wasabi. Not horseradish, real wasabi. For the cooked dishes we got the hokkaido crab tempura with a side of matcha salt. One of the best tempuras I've ever had. The kamameshi, a rice dish with their fish of the day. We got the half order and it's kinda like a bibimbap where they mix the rice for you at your table.
