Kozmic Cones is your basic ice cream shop. I ordered a Reese's Orbit. Basically it's a Dairy Queen blizzard. Tasted fantastic on a hot, hot day. And the medium was larger than I expected. But it's basically ice cream, so it's hard to vault it beyond three stars unless there were something amazing at hand. read more

We ordered them through the drive through and staff was kind to offer us cups and spoons to help us eat them cause they're pretty tall. On a hot day in Hilo I decided to give this place a try. Initial impression was a local style Dairy Queen. The drive through was busy due to Covid. Limited dining room seating (6) was an option, but was full when I got there. In terms of menu and variety, this place easily beats Dairy Queen. Slushes and slush floats (slush with soft serve) were available. Like other yelpers have mentioned, the menu is local style and chicken katsu was available. There was a daily special offered that I was told changes. And everything was fresh and made to order. Overall, this definitely worth at least a try. Not sure why Kozmic Cones got such mixed reviews. It's a locally owned drive thru/walk up with standard plate lunch fare and a creative dessert section. We ordered fried shrimp and chicken katsu. Both platters were neatly boxed and were hot and crunchy. The vanilla soft serve rivals Dairy Queen. If you love Melona popsicles or honeydew, get the melon slush float. read more

This place is so hit or miss, it's ridiculous. There's absolutely no consistency. Sometimes the fries are crispy awesomeness, sometimes they are floppy mush. Sometimes the food is decent, others times, it's way over cooked and inedible. It's like the hot items are made in large quantities and sit under heat lamps all day. Sometimes the orbits aren't mixed up and there's just a bunch of toppings thrown on top of the soft serve. The cones are pretty good, but everything else is a crap shoot. read more

Look I don't expect a lot out of this place. The food is decent. It has a drive thru. I'd rather support a local company. The burgers here are usually okay. But the other day we ordered a cheeseburger and a gravy burger. Both had burgers that were cooked into charcoal. Both had buns that were dry and stale. And the gravy burger just had a little gravy on one half. It was already a bummer because they were out of ALL ICE CREAM!!! Said their supplier didn't deliver. Okay. But to only have a small sign once you get up to the order speaker? Ridiculous! There should have been a LARGE sign up front. We would have skipped that day and come back another day. Hawaiian Plate here is awesome when available! I've had numerous Hawaiian Plates ranging from $10-15! This plate lunch was only $7.95. The taste is way better than any Hawaiian Plate I've had in Hilo, for much less! The chicken long rice was hot and flavorful. The kalua pork was very moist and perfectly salted. Thanks to yelp I learned of this treat, and my boyfriend and I swung by on a rainy night for a taste. It was worth the drenched hem of my maxidress (haha) to experience the deliciousness! I gave it 3 stars because the customer service sucks. They should organize better on how to call people for their orders. That window is too small and we can barely hear anything because the seats are far from the window. The cashier ( don't know her name, but she got frizzy hair type ) is not so good at talking to her customers. Always makes us repeat our order, even when we're not talking fast. But there slushee floats and soft serves are great! Really hits the spot on a hot day, and their food is also great! I love their fried chicken plate!!!! We came here with friends who were told by their sister in law about the snacks. It was a detour from Volcanoes NPS on the way back to Kona. The boys ordered the slush float which I have to say was one of the best I've ever had. The slush was carbonated which I've never had before. The texture of the slush was icy not really watery. The soft serve was creamy and icy too. So why 2 stars? I ordered a teri burger with no mayo and made sure they didn't put in mustard which I can't stand! So the order came out pretty fast. It looked good and I was ready to devour it! As I was ready to bite down I smelled something I didn't like. It was mustard! I took it back to the cashier and she thought I said no mayo and add mustard. What!!??!! So she took it back and 2 minutes later I got my new burger. Again as I was ready to bite down...what did I see? A whole lot of mayo! My friend said I heard you say no mayo and mustard. So frustrating! Good basic ice cream cones. As one reviewer noted, the cone was a little stale, but the ice cream itself & the toppings are great.

The food was okay, I didn't find it super tasty but I did enjoy the Banana shake they had on their menu. Going into the place I didn't expect anything great from them but since they were open late we decide to give it a try. We had the combo Katsu and Teri it was okay. The teriyaki was too sweet for me personally and the Katsu needed to be cooked little bit more. The rice was good and so was their salad. I would recommend this place for a quick bite but don't expect anything beyond extra ordinary. The staff was friendly left them a good tip since they look tired from working a long shift. I ordered the seafood platter and about 2 hours later my stomach was hurting and felt like I had to throw up.. from all the grease... or maybe it was bad fish.
