I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich, which turned out to be American single-slice on soft white sandwich bread. It was exceptionally soggy with grease.

Well this place was hard to find although it was well worth it . My sister seen this on Khontv2. So she told me let's go check it out. We finally got there and there's really no visible signage but we parked in a area looks like a clinic. In the lobby of the building there was a Longs pharmacy. There it was Pete's Belly Bustazs we ordered some homemade dressing a French, Somen and oriental. We also brought some salsa back to the hotel room to try . We also ordered cheese burger to go sorry no pics because I was so hungry and it was very good. Homemade patty with lettuce, tomato and cheese. If your in Hilo look them up I highly recommend this place . Support local

Went here because of reviews from Yelpers and a KHON TV spot. Bought a couple of bottles of salad dressing which was featured on KHON. We also bought a couple of cheese burgers. The patty was homemade and delicious. They are located at the front entrance of the Punahele Profesional Building. Enjoy.

Daily special, curry chicken stew,$8.75 for mini plate. Mostly potato's, everything very bland. It was ok.

I would give 4 stars for choices, friendliness and speed but need to focus on the food itself. I got one of the daily specials, Curry chicken stew that came w/rice and potato/Mac salad $8.75. It came out within 2 mins. and nice and warm. But the downside was it was more of a potato curry w/carrots and bits of chicken morsels in the curry gravy, no actual chunks of chicken. Basically it was a carb bomb of potatoes, rice and pasta. The veggies and curry were cooked good but everything completely bland, no spice/heat at all. Thankfully I had packets of S&P to help. Should have had a sandwich or salad I'm sure it would have been a better choice for me personally.

First time eating at this hole in the wall take out place. I'm amazed that this place hasn't been yelped that much. Glad my boyfriend introduced me to this place because I'll deff. be back again. I got the daily special which was a mushroom swiss burger and fries for under $9 & my boyfriend got the reg. Korean chicken plate which came with a scoop of rice and mac salad. They have a great variety of food with take out menus near the cashier. They also sell bentos, little snacks and pupu platters and are known for their salsas. Cute little place which gets super busy.. the staff seems great so you won't wait no longer then 10 minutes for your food!

Just a solid place that provides consistent food with nice portions for a reasonable price. Korean chicken and katsu are my go tos here.

Food was okay. But the customer service was not it. The lady that helped me was very rude.

Good food. Fast and friendly service. They are very clear on how long the food will take if it's not already made.

Home of the loco moco! Came to Cafe 100 on a Friday for lunch with a large group of students, and…read morethis was the perfect spot to grab a quick lunch. There were various options for everyone and easy ordering on the kiosk with pictures, which was super helpful. The dining area is spacious and breezy. I got a green river and portugese sausage loco moco, which are two of my favorite things! A lot of places don't have green river, so it was a pleasant surprise to find it being sold here. The Portuguese sausage was juicy and the gravy was the perfect consistency for the loco moco. I loved how many different meat options they had for their loco mocos. Definitely recommend coming here for a quick bite!

As a born-and-raised local, rice, gravy, and eggs will win me over every time, and I really wanted to love this place for the history alone. I'll be honest though -- the hype set the bar high, and I left a little let down. The regular loco moco was just okay. The hamburger patty tasted pre-made or frozen, though the gravy was solid (thank goodness). The beef stew also tasted pre-made and was lighter on the tomato flavor than I prefer. I ordered the steak as well (around $30), and it came out very well done. On the positive side, they offer a ton of plate lunch options, the space is extremely well kept for a local diner, and there's plenty of parking. It's covered outdoor seating only, but it's comfortable and clean. What surprised me most was the lack of visible history. I expected to see more storytelling about the loco moco origins -- photos, signage, staff sharing pride in it -- something that really leaned into that legacy. It felt a little missing. Still glad I tried it for the experience, but for me, it didn't quite live up to the legendary reputation.

K's maintains that claim with flying colors. Awesome gravy, perfectly cooked easy over eggs, and decent hamburger patties make this a must for that similar loco moco craze that I experienced during this recent trip home to Hilo. I promise you, you can't go wrong here. Lots of parking, lots of covered seating, very friendly service, lots to choose from menu-wise, and bonus being attached to a liquor store (Kadota's). It's been years since I've been here, I'm so happy to see they're still around. Slightly disappointed i have to order mac salad separately, and a double loco is mot the standard large plate lunch size, rather a slight smaller. That's ok, honestly, I shouldn't be eating so much stuff that is the loco moco for one meal anyway, much less having one 3 days in a row. But, I'll be back when I'm back. Delicious.

The food felt like the kind of dependable, everyday local grindz you come back for, especially if you want something hearty and familiar. The Shoyu Chicken had that savory, home-style flavor, and the Chicken Papaya was a nice change of pace with a lighter, slightly sweet savory balance. Service was quick enough for a casual meal, and the vibe is very old-school drive-in in the best way.
