The girls that work there (Sept 2024) were not friendly, as though they were better than their fast food job. Seating area was dirty - needs major power washing. We come here mainly for the slush floats, tuna sandwich and gravy cheeseburgers although the menu is pretty big. The slush floats are made with a huge scoop of vanilla ice cream and either strawberry or coke slush. So yum! We love it so much we went twice it's also funny that it's called a drive in because there is no drive in here & Blanes serves fresh local Hawaiian food plate lunches, big portions and in an open air dining room. The food is worth the wait...don't be deterred. Ambiance is what you make of it. The building looks to be a former auto shop. There are tables chairs and it's open air, more of a eat and go. Being from Oahu, we don't have very many true drive inns anymore like Blane's. My wife had eaten earlier but I was hungry so I pulled into Blane's Drive Inn. I love this place! It was clean and spacious and you can see into the service area and see how clean everything is. I ordered a Teri hamburger deluxe with 2 medium sodas. The two sodas came out to $6.56, more than what my hamburger costed. I never thought I would have to pay over $3 for a medium soda. The Teri hamburger was old school where you can taste the filler in the meat which I don't mind because back in the 60's and 70's that's how we all made hamburger patties so it tasted nostalgic. if you don't mind eating a burger with filler this burger was delicious. The teriyaki flavor was very subtle, which I like, and there was no sloppy sauce brushed on it, which I don't like. I thoroughly There was enjoyed my meal. There were a lot of call in and takeout orders while I was there and the staff seemed reasonably efficient in serving everyone in due time. I look forward to trying Blane's again. read more

Called at 5:30pm and phone was turned off showed up an hour before closing mind you they closed at 8pm they turned of there stove. I saw the lady cleaning it already. Fortunately they did and it was as good as I remembered, thinly sliced, tender, juicy, with just the right amount of fat resembling bacon, all marinated in a sweet teriyaki sauce, with rice and mac salad.
