They were really quick and allowed us to order at 9:29PM when they close at 9:30. The Chow Fun was really good, but the sweet and sour chicken was over done. If you like light sauce, don't order this. Without drowning it in the sauce it could break a tooth. The reviewer who mentioned it is open very late mislead my boyfriend and I to try this place after a movie. I felt bad ordering when they were trying to close, but we chose to go here based on that recommendation. They close daily at 9:30 PM. I am kind of confused when I see all the good ratings for this place. The only good thing I can say is that they are fast and an average price. Lets start with the hot and sour soup - this is the first time I have had this and it tasted like sugar, I had to throw it out. I also ordered the hot and spicy chicken - all the vegetables where over cooked and this is the only place that puts green-beans in it. The broccoli was very soft to the point that using chopsticks would just smash it. The sauce tasted like it cam from a jar, the chicken was very dry and no flavor (in both the soup and dish), very large pieces, no color and reminded me of something that you would get per cooked in a bag and heat up. Came in on New Year's Eve and was really impressed with how delicious all my plates were so I decided to update my review. Line to order was to the door but all the workers kept their cool. I always see the same faces when I come in so it's definitely a solid family functioning restaurant. I personally don't mind that they're very strait forward when getting your order. After all, the overall purpose is to get you in and out quick with a ton of food. First place I go to for chinese food! Can't recall how many times I've been here over the years. Service-wise, some of the workers are kind of rude (decent amout of yelling in non-English), but it's tolerable considering the food is delicious and cheap and the portions are HUGE (the styrofoam box is filled to the brim and sagging under its own weight). I usually order the special chow mein and ALWAYS end up with leftovers, even after sharing with 3 people each getting their good-sized portion... all for around 9 something bucks. I'm a week late on my review. I order take out, got chicken chow fun, egg flower soup, sweet and sour chicken dinner plate and orange chicken. I will give the food here a 2.5 stars. Believe it when they said the portion are huge. However I was very disappointed in regards to the quality of the food. The orange chicken was very good base on the sauce however the chicken was over cook, it was hard and I had the hard time chewing into the meat. The chow fun just look like a mess. I like that they used a lot of vegetables however the noodles wasnt the fat wide noodles I was expecting. The was more like pad thai noodles, I feel like was eating pad thai made with chinese fusion. Tired of eating Panda Express, I had been looking for a great Chinese food place for a long time. I stumbled across this one day with an old assistant manager and have been in love with the food ever since. The portions are huge and the wait isn't super fast, but it not too long and although the people sounds like they are yelling in the back, there is just a barrier in english. Family staple for 50 years in Clovis. Excellent taste, fast and inexpensive. Combination #3 is the wife's favorite, lots of diversity on this plate and it overflows. I love love love their Teriyaki Chicken, I think it's the best in Fresno and the portion is amazing. The BBQ pork side dish is generous, sweet, and juicy at the bottom of the container. Yummy, my mouth is watering thinking about it!! This place is strictly take-out. Yes they have tables but they are small. I see people using them waiting for orders so don't consider this a full service restaurant. It is truly a hole-in-the-wall with good food. I like watching them cook the food. The cashiers are always busy and not particularly outgoing but OK, so what? I want great food fast and Kowloon does that. Food was not great to me. Been here a few times the meat is always so gummy. So I asked for the meat to be extra fried and cooked very well done. The cook was very unhappy about it was obviously agitated speaking with the girl upfront(who was very nice). She then told us he says he'll do it this time but not next time.... they did it the time before and told us to order it that way but this time they scolded us lol. I didn't like being complained at very much and the food wasn't great. Meat was gummy and I learned my lesson not to give this place another chance. You may like it, but it's not for me. Been going there for years. Food has gotten worse over period of time. I ordered the Broccoli Beef. They amount of beef and Broccoli served over noodles is less and less each time. We thought we would try it again tonight. We ordered the Broccoli beef over the phone. Went to pay for it but asked to see the amount served. She looked at me with a scowl on her face and said, "You touch you buy!" I said in return, "I'm not going to open it, you are." Every thing was fine until she told me the price, $11.20. I told her that the menu price is $8.50 plus tax. She then said in a sharp tone "It's $2 more. Read the sign!" So I read it and it said that they are charging $2 extra just for beef dishes. I said I am not paying that! Give me back my money. She yanked the money out of the cash register and gave it to me with a pissed off look. Then she turned around and started speaking to the workers and they all started talking loudly and pointing at me as I starting walking back to the car. Never going there again.
