Koto Buffet: We came here Saturday expecting to receive a great seafood experience, but left hungry and depressed at the cost of said experience. The wait staff was mostly friendly and wanted to give great service, but they were inundated with a full house. The lobster: over-boiled, under seasoned, and very small. The tail quite literally was 3 bites. Not a problem with the size so much as you can get more, but it was chewy, lacked flavor and was not juicy so we just moved on to the prime rib. It looked beautiful, but it was so tough I question whether is was prime anything. Ok, there's more food to try. The salad bar: ding, ding, ding! Great salad bar with lots of choices of fresh vegetables and dressings. Next, clam chowder. I love this...usually. This version was potatoe soup with, what I imagine, a spritz of clam essence-no clams were found. There should be a disclosure: 'No clams were harmed (or used) in this soup.' LOL. And my favorite part; the desserts: So many choices and they all look delicious. That's it. You know that cake with the carrot on top? Yea, carrot cake. Nope, not! It was apple spice cake. Yuk! Bait and switch, for sure. Chocolate fudge cake: delicious!. Soft serve ice cream: the way its supposed to taste. Chocolate chip cookie: ok-that's it. Food is hit or miss. Either super good or really bad. I often spring for the seafood night as you can't really mess up lobster. However it's very expensive for what you get. Service is ok. The cleaners do a great job at coming in behind you but sometimes getting seated is a headache. I've been a couple of times and I've been to dinner and brunch. I gotta say though the price for brunch is unbeatable with buffet items that include prime rib and bottomless champagne. Even with dinner pricing being more it's still worth it especially if you go to lobster night. The staff is super friendly when paying and getting shown your table. Food is refilled consistently so there's never a long wait until a tray is refilled. If Red Hawk wasn't so far from me I would be going to this buffet monthly. read more

The customer service from everyone that I met at the buffet bar were all so nice. They greeted you with kind words and the entire staff were so friendly. I can't thank you enough to the staff because they were genuinely kind and helpful. The food was delicious. I had about two slices of prime rib with horseradish, their scrambled eggs, calamari, and cinnamon banana pudding (with soft serve vanilla ice cream). I am going to come again for the all the treats I missed because of their wide selection and have to definitely come back for the selections I tried. The seating area had a nice view overlooking the mountains and trees. Such a cozy setting. Overall the visit to Koto Buffet was very serene and fulfilling. These guys were awesome! From the check in hostess to the waiters/waitresses! Such amazing customer service! I booked this restaurant for my son's birthday. It was easy and they were very accommodating. There were 64 of us and everyone had a great time! The food was good not great IMO. But some of our family really loved it. After reading a few Yelp reviews for this buffet, I was a little wary of trying it out. However, we were there on Wednesday and the buffet was $15 if you had a rewards card. I thought that was a pretty good deal and worth a try. The buffet had Italian, American, Asian, Mexican and a pretty impressive carving station. They had an omelette station and dessert, of course. The quality of the food ranged from really good prime rib to not so good baked fish. I think it's hard to keep fish from overcooking under heat lamps. There was enough variety to satisfy most people's cravings. The dessert area was OK, but I appreciated the inclusion of sugar-free desserts. What really impressed me was the service. The staff behind the lines were so kind and polite. The bussers were very attentive and cleared your plates as soon as they saw that you were done. The food areas were very clean and well-maintained. Koto is still a solid choice when visiting Red Hawk. We visited tonight and had a great time. Food was delicious and staff were so friendly; the staff honestly deserve a raise for how attentive and kind they were (and patient when my mom spilled crab butter everywhere). The highlights for me were the crab, prime rib, and the birria tacos. So crazy to say but birria tacos were the best thing we had all night! Everything we ate was great but man those tacos stole the show. Still a self serve drink station (with plastic cups which for some reason we liked that concept) and we filled up on our Starry drink! The main attractions such as the lobster and seafood and prime rib were actually really good and fresh I prefer crabs and they did not disappoint especially because they're hot they're constantly refilling these things so they were pretty fresh. The other food was skippable and I feel like the mexican corner is a waste but it does allow them to provide the other high end stuff. Once I heard my friend tell me that on Fridays there is lobster, and I was sold. I had been craving for some good lobster since being back from Massachusetts for a trip and I needed some back home. I was happy my vacation to Red Hawk lined up perfectly and I was able to go on a Friday. Let me tell you the lobster is out of this world!!!! It is Maine lobster. Drinks are self-serve (sodas and coffee at each corner). Didn't see hot or cold tea - maybe need to ask for the tea? Large variety of hot food, cold food, and desserts! Overall was a good experience, and plan to be back when craving for Lobsters. It's ok. I went on a Sat night for the all you can eat lobster & crab. I love lobster & had 3 while I was there but they were all overcooked. They boiled these things until they were cooked & then left it in 10 min longer. Lol! I get it. They want to make sure they're cooked & don't want anyone to get sick but the meat was tough & not delicate. The tomalley inside the body, a delicacy that I love, was cooked solid. I've never seen lobster cooked that long before. It was disappointing. I tried the peel & eat shrimp but they were very mushy like they'd been frozen & thawed a few times. I also had some galbi. Very tasty but a bit too salty. The prime rib was very good & the best thing I had that night. The dessert selection was ok. All very basic choices. Went recently to try the lobster and crab buffet for $59 per person for dinner. Have to say, not a fan. The lobster was rubbery and they only have snow crab. It is impressive to see the whole lobster on your plate, but it tasted awful. The claw meat was good. Interestingly , you have a giant looking lobster but after getting the meat out of the tail and taking out the spine guts, the amount of meat looked like a large prawn!!! My partner's tail was larger than mine, but even more rubbery. The rest of the buffet was typical and nothing really stood out that made us want to go back again, especially for that price. The service was also interesting. We did not seem to have a "server" only somebody coming by and removing our used plates and bucket of shells. This did happen perfectly and was appreciated. You get your own drinks at the drink station so there wasn't really a need for a server, but it would have been nice if somebody asked us if we were ok. Also, all the staff that I did encounter by watching around me and the one that cleared our dishes, they were all very nice. There was a regular customer at the table next to us and he seemed to know everybody and they all stopped and checked in on him and were very friendly to him as well. It was nice that the restaurant actually has windows and what a view! I had heard good things, and decided to come for Sunday brunch. I made a reservation online, but I didn't really need it, because when I came, the place was wide open. One is definitely needed for dates like Mother's Day, Easter, etc.... You pay at the beginning. The price is $44, which is very reasonable for what you get, but if you are military or a veteran, you get a 10% discount. You have to have your military status put on your players club card, and then when you come into the casino, you scan your card in the players club machine, and that will put the discount on the card. You then hand the card to the cashier at the buffet. The place is laid out well with lots of seating. The buffet was amazing! All kinds of breakfast items , an omelette station, and then for non-breakfast items, they had a salad bar, American, Mexican, Asian, (including sushi, ) Italian, pizza, they also had a Carvery that had ham, roast beef, and even salmon Wellington. I've had "beef Welly" before, but never salmon. It was delicious! The salmon was tender, and the puff pastry was wonderfully flaky. For a seafood buffet, it definitely lives up to its name. They had clams, mussels, shrimp 3 ways... peel and eat, breaded, and also on the Asian line with sauce, crab, legs, a seafood Newburgh that was delicious, and, had a *HUGE* amount of seafood in it. They even have oysters on the half-shell!! I have never been to a seafood buffet with oysters on the half-shell before. Everything was amazing. After all this, save room for dessert, because the dessert bar is massive, including soft serve, and a Sundae station. The bread pudding on the dessert line is delectable! Everything I ate was fantastic! The reason I am taking off a star, is because first, a gentleman had three very young children, running all over the place and yelling. That was very disruptive, and nobody said anything to him. Secondly, , all of your beverages, , including the champagne, you have to get on your own. That it's not a big deal, but It would be nice for somebody to come by every now and then, and simply ask how your meal is going. I had expected somebody to come by and offer me a glass of champagne. I mentioned that to the person who was busing my table, (a gentleman with black, curly hair, and a beard,), he was very friendly and very helpful. He pointed out where they were handing out the champagne, and apologized that nobody told me that. I don't even drink, but it would've been nice to know, if I would've been with another person. I love giving good reviews, and generally don't give bad reviews... but I've gotta be honest and give a bad one here. My wife and I decided to go for the Saturday night dinner (06/27/26) and enjoy crab, lobster and prime rib. The gentleman carving the prime rib made no eye contact with me at all, cut up some horrible looking chunks of fat, I expected to see him discard it, but nope, he put it on my plate. The crab was over cooked and way too much work getting meat out of the shells, and the lobster... well, it was a female with more roe in it than I'd ever seen, it was served unsplit so I had to tear the shell apart with my hands, and pull the very full poop shoot out of the tail, I bit into the tail and felt like I was trying to bite into a dirty tennis ball. I threw the whole thing away. I did go back and got a few pieces of melon and a couple of strawberries, they were a nice finish, but didn't justify the $118.00 price for dinner for two. We decided to not do any gambling and came home. There were other things we didn't enjoy, but not worth going into. It's very unlikely we'll ever go to Red Hawk again. If you're looking for a FANTASTIC dinner and happen to be in the Roseville area, we ate at a Brazilian steakhouse last week and it was epic, not anything like tonight's wasted time and money. Full disclosure: I despise all-you-can-eat buffets. But I was willing to put that aside and join my wife and her family at this restaurant's buffet last night. Everyone was excited at the prospect of all-you-can-eat lobster. I got through half of one and decided it was simply too overcooked, tough, chewy and dried out to continue. Others at the table acknowledged that, but continued to eat it because, after all, it was LOBSTER. Big deal. My advice? Find a market with live lobster, take it home, steam it yourself and enjoy it fresh. You can even use the shells and tomalley to make a decent lobster sauce. But that's how buffets work and all night I watched folks bringing back plate after plate of so-so food to their tables because...it's all you can eat! No wonder there is an obesity epidemic in this country. I sampled a variety of other dishes and was not impressed with most of them. Flavorless fresh fruit, over-steamed snow crab and desserts that looked nice, but ultimately disappointed. Highlights? Service was excellent, as any dirty dishes were immediately picked up and any trays low in food were quickly refilled. And, the most important part, the food was great! Was it the best food I have ever had? No, but for buffet standards, it was great. I like how fresh the sushi tasted and the meats in the carve section were tender and juicy. The Mrs. and I celebrated 2025 by coming out to Red Hawk. They have changed the buffet deal for the new year with $15 Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with 100 points on your players card. I am sure that they changed it as too many locals were taking advantage of the $15 buffet without gambling. Note that 100 points is $240 in gambling spend so very likely a losing proposition. The Mrs got to 100 points so to the buffet we went. Unfortunately the 100 points was only good for one $10 discount from the $25 base price. I think it would make much more sense if the discount was good for up to 2 discounts or lower the point threshold to 50 as who makes the trek to Red Hawk alone? Unfortunately the food was the most disappointing of the four trips we have made in the past year. - Beef roast: first piece was a bit dry but ok with some au jus. Second piece had way too much garlic, to the point of being inedible. We have noticed that whomever seasons the beef has a heavy hand with the garlic but this was the worst it has been. The meat was bitter with garlic. Just a waste of a beef roast in my opinion. - Mashed potatoes: looked like red potatoes and were good - Fried shrimp: highlight of the meal; popular so they were fresh and crispy - Fried chicken: good but not memorable - BBQ pork bao: not dim sum house quality but pretty good pre-made - Black bean chicken- second best item of the meal - Spicy eggplant: not sure what the cook was thinking as pieces were way too big so they were uncooked on the inside and had no flavor - Birria taco: beef pieces was too big/not shredded enough so not much flavor - Bread pudding: solid if a bit sweet for me. Came here for the seafood buffet. Had reservations but still had a considerable wait as there were many parties ahead and they needed to get tables ready. Once you get a table you can start getting food, and drinks are self service fountain drinks. The first lobster I got was delicious but I kept getting female ones with eggs in it that made it taste bad. Crab legs were good but a bit on the salty side. I like that they had bins full of crackers and wipes as well. Lines for the seafood were never long. Most of the food is pretty standard buffet level food, nothing stood out too much. But did enjoy sides like mac and cheese, risotto, and mashed potatoes that were really good. Service could be better. They didn't clear plates timely enough, so often times I had to stack my new plate on top of dirty plates since there was no table space.
