Ebi Fry & Chicken Katsu Lunch Special
Rozanna M.

This has been an at least once a month lunch spot for my work bestie and myself! Located directly to the left of entrance on the Makai (downtown) side of Pearl Ridge (Gens/parking entrance). Food is always consistent: fresh, super crunchy and delish! Can't go wrong with the cabbage salad, so simple but so much flavor with either dressing. We always add cheese to our curry, seems to balance the curry and gives it creamy taste/texture. Service is always pleasant. Restaurant is in the smaller side but has a cozy feel.

This is who was dining. They wouldn't sit 11 adults!!! I've been here before and the food was nothing to phone home about so I just left it alone. Someone asked me to take them to get katsu close by, so I chose this place because it's 4:00 and I figured it would be pretty empty. Well, it was, and they still wouldn't seat us.

Came by for a quick bite and was seated decently quickly after a short 10-15 minute wait. We both the chicken katsu and ebi fry lunch special and we added 10 piece katsu-kushi and 2 pieces of the mushroom katsu kushi (I think I honestly do not remember). The chicken katsu and ebi fry lunch special was good, the curry was pretty flavorful. It reminds me of golden curry I'd make at home. The katsu was crispy as expected. I liked the rice too, the perfect kind to soak up the curry and pair with the katsu. The Katsu Kushi was fun to eat as it had a good amount of variety. I enjoyed the mochi quite a lot, the beef was a bit tough to eat, and I would note that the soft shell crab was extremely fishy. Like INEDIBLE fishy. I don't know if they always have it like that or if it was just an off one. Either way it was NOT pleasant. The service was friendly, I would definitely visit again if I'm craving katsu and/or curry and was near the area (wouldn't go out of my way for it though).

Had a BOGO 50% coupon and was hungry for Tonkatsu so I made reservations. Arrived at 5pm and was promptly greeted and seated. Surprised there was another party already there. Place was filled by 5:30 or so. Go early is you done want to wait. Servers were great. Very attentive and helpful. They wanted to be sure we understood what the two salad dressings and two tonkatsu sauces were. They checked on us several times during our meal. I requested no onions in my miso soup. When it arrived there were onions. I was just about to pick them out when she rushed over, apologizing for forgetting, took my soup and brought back a fresh bowl with no green onions. Our drinks came quickly (hubby's was Orion, mine Toki whisky in the rocks) and both were great. The plate with pickled cabbage, kimchee, kimchee takuwan also came quickly. I LOVE their kimchee takuwan - so delicious! Sadly, no refills... We both ordered the 190gm pork loin tonkatsu because it had a bit of fat and is more juicy. It came quickly, too. The cabbage was plentiful (and refillable), the pork was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and juicy. Rice was great. Overall it was a great dinner, reasonable, too with the BOGO 50% on the second entree.

Food is fresh. Service is friendly. Inside is nice and quiet. I'd come here for a good lunch. The sauces are tasty and match the food perfectly.

We walked in for an early dinner and were seated right away. The servers were very nice. We got the chicken katsu, pork loin see, and pork fillet katsu set. The katsu is very crispy and delicious. The miso soup is good. The cabbage salad and pickled vegetables are refillable. We were very full after. I love that there is a katsu place in Pearl City so it's convenient for those who don't always want to go to town. And it tastes good!

Eating at Koromo was one of those rare instances where the food is so remarkable that you find yourself continuing to eat long after you are full. I ordered the pork loin katsu and was initially concerned that the meat might be overcooked; however, it was prepared to absolute perfection. The breading was remarkably crispy and flavorful, the rice was perfectly sticky, and the curry sauce was outstanding--truly a 10/10 dish. It provides a calm, quiet atmosphere complemented by high-quality, solid dishware. The exceptional environment was matched only by our waitress, who provided stellar service. Because my mother had never tried Japanese curry before, our waitress took the time to guide her through the options. The food arrived promptly, and she remained highly attentive throughout our entire meal.

My nephew introduced me to Koromo for their delicious Tonkatsu. The Tonkatsu here at Koromo is crunchy and juicy. It comes with rice and cabbage. The service was mediocre and considering the prices are on the high end.

Wow, the food was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor! Even with a small crew, the service was outstanding. They were super quick and paid attention to everything. I was really impressed by how attentive everyone was. Definitely a great dining experience all around.

Tonkatsu

Lunch special tonkatsu miso soup rice and all you can eat cabbage. Service quick for a weekday business lunch. Quiet enough to have business conversations.

First time for me eating here. My son, his wife and my grandson wanted us to join them for dinner. I had the Pork katsu with choke cabbage. And btw Free refill oncabbage. Overpriced for one thing. 8oz what you see with the cabbage - Kim chi and miso soup is $32.00. I think little overpriced. 4 adults with a coupon of 50% off second meal. $125.00 total Oh and 1 drink which was $11.00 So again if you want to spend $$& on what I feel you can get elsewhere for half that cost. Then Koromo is for you. I think this is the first and last time for me. Food taste the same as L & L .

Don't think this place is subpar because it's in a mall. This place is delicious and the servers were wonderful! You get to grind your own sesame paste while you wait for your food. The chicken was crispy and juicy. The pieces were huge! Our server even offered us extra cabbage for our leftovers and extra of the delicious dressing! It's pretty small but you don't feel smushed which is nice!

Come for the pork loin curry. Place is pretty pricey and this feels like the best value. Pork is fatty. Curry is spicy. And you get unlimited cabbage. Teishoku was fine but the side veges weren't too good so might as well get curry instead

They have tables that could easily sit 12 people (probably more with kids). They also have counter-height tables that seat about four, and of course, there's the bar. Bathrooms were spacious and clean. Immediately after we sat, a worker brought us menus and showed us the QR code to order. At first we were taken aback but it turned out to be super efficient. Since we wanted to pay separately, it was easy since we simply had to open our own tabs. Plus, we didn't have to wait or flag down anyone if we wanted to order more food or drinks, just add it to the tab. We got the ahi dip, oxtail soup, smashburgers, lechon, honey chicken burger, onion rings, and fries. The chips were just a little stale and the lechon needed a bit more salt. The dip was good and the lechon was crispy. Onion rings for the burgers is an extra charge, but they give a lot! I was expecting seven onion rings but they gave at least 12. The food was good so much so that I want to go again and try more. Our 16oz Mililani Red was terrific. I mean, beer is what they're known for. It was $7.50. We also got samples of the slushies of the day: Liliko'i-Orange-Guava and White Peach Lemonade. Both were really good. Perfect slush consistency. LOG slushie had a good bit of tang from the liliko'i. The white peach one was creamy with a nice hint of peach. Definitely need to try other drinks next time we come.

Fish tacos - 0 stars. Definitely a joke. There were 3 tiny open tostadas, each with a nugget size piece of fish with a bit of sauce and pico de gallo. No slaw. Couldn't believe they even served this. The server NEVER came around to ask how our food was. Probably didn't want to hear how terrible the 'tacos' were. I know, i know, my fault for not saying anything but we were celebrating and i didn't want to dampen the vibe so I'm saying it now.
