We went on a Saturday night for some apps and a quick bite. There were leftover menus from Valentine's Day. We ordered the roasted tomato bruschetta which was very good! Before anything, some warm bread and a little pesto was served while we wait. Then I ordered the tomato bisque which had some croutons and a little drizzle of evoo. I also had the side Caesar salad which had fresh mozzarella shavings and crispy croutons. It was too big for me to finish! Our server was Parker and he did an excellent job! We have always loved the food at Kornerstone Bistro. We generally go for lunch or brunch since we rarely go out for dinner. I do wish that they would offer some of the dinner specials for lunch. We would go more often if this was the case. My husband and I have health issues that we avoid eating a night meal. But I do want to thank you for returning your breakfast pizza to the brunch menu. It is a yummy    dish combining their best in class pizza crust with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, spinach, Italian sausage, pesto, cheese. It is my favorite brunch item at any restaurant. Tried this place again today and again was disappointed. Took a friend for his birthday. We had okay drinks but our appetizer was bruschetta, which was cold and out of the fridge. The bread was not toasted at all and the topping was ice cold. Inedible! He ordered a burger, which looked decent and I ordered the pasta with vegetables with marinara sauce. The bowl of pasta was barely warm. I complained and they said, we will bring you another class of malbec and warm the pasta. They managed to warm the pasta but ended up charging me for the second glass of malbec. I had assumed it was free as I had just complained about the cold bruschetta and the cold pasta. But no, when the bill came, I was charged full price for everything. I kept getting apologies for the bad food, but nothing else. I honestly don't think I could eat there again. Thru the years we have been here numerous of times! Every single time has been great! We like their drinks, the food and the ambiance! In the spring/summer outside they will have music so that is always a plus! They have daily specials as well! Last night I came with my girls and we ordered our usual appetizer, mozzarella fritti, dinner we had the kids pasta with marinara, the build your own salad and the Valdostano plate! My wife, neighbors Pete & Kathy, and me all spent an early evening listening to the solo guitar and folk singer while enjoying some top notch Italian food. All was delicious and comfortable. We live only a mile or so away so return visits will be on our menu. My wife, Wendy and I will be returning tonight and I see no reason to order anything else but the gluten free penne paste bolognese with hot Italian sausage again. Server took the order, delivered the food checked back and that was that . No mention of birthday or what we may be celebrating. We have other things to celebrate so we moved on. Friends and I had lunch here today before going to an art class in Hampstead. I ordered the cobb salad, which was very good, although the bacon was way overcooked. Some of the pieces were too chewy. The avocado was perfectly ripe; and the gorgonzola cheese was yummy. Same with the blue cheese dressing. Two other salads were ordered, and a Caesar chicken salad wrap. All very good. Nice service by our young waitress. While I made reservations in advance, it was not needed. It wasn't crowded at all. In nice weather, sitting outside is a good option. Very disappointed. My friends raved about this place and said they were taking me there for Mothers Day. We walked up and the doors are locked. They have a takeout menu near the door so I look at it. On the front it says hours of operation Sunday-Thursday 11AM-9PM. I see a guy in the back and knock on the door. We ask why they are closed and he says, We will be open at 5. I said that is not what this menu says. He looked at me and said, Oh they didn't changed it? And proceeded to say goodbye, see you at 5. No real apology. No note on the door. It's Mothers Day! Why would you not be open? Next time I go visit my friends, I think I will pop in to see if those menus have changed. What's really sad...I just checked their website and the hours have not been changed. Call before you go. read more

This was my first time coming yo this wonderful little nook in Porters Neck.. It is nestled in a shopping strip and you would never guess that once inside. We were greeted with smiles and were able to talk while looking at the menu. The waitress brought water and our drinks. We both got one of their special drinks and were absolutely delicious and refreshing. I had the the shrimp pasta dish and the flavors melted in my mouth. A little spice, just the way I like it. I was able to save some for leftovers, which was even better. My friend had one of the pizza choices and she ate the whole thing. Another good place to eat in Wilmington. We are going to go broke and gain 20 pounds our first year living here! This place was packed, so reservations are a great idea. It's large though with a nice outdoor eating area. This is a weird thing to complain about, but they have too many choices on their menu. This is an issue for me because it's difficult to be great.at that many choices. We were there with another couple and we ordered a lot of food and drinks. It was all good, not mind blowing, but good. The service was great though! We'll eat there again, but we aren't rushing to do so. read more

For over 7 years I dined at the bar there several times per week. But with their increase in prices and understaffed bar, I don't plan to dine there again. And some bar staff prioritize some customers over others, and have personal conversation at the expense of waiting customers. During my last visit I actually left due to poor customer service.... I couldn't get anyone to serve me due to conversations between bar staff and customers at the opposite end of the bar. The food is good though, honestly. I really enjoyed this spot to go and hang out with friends and have a chill lunch. Their prices were average for the area and we ended up getting a bottle of Rose with our lunches. It was good, however, they just sat the wine on the table without anything to keep it chilled which I found odd. We both ended up getting wraps that were okay. They just renovated and improved the look of their restaurant really investing in the Porters Neck community. My friend and I met for drinks and appetizers at the bar on Saturday night. With the recent situation I was happily pleased to see seats available and socially distance. The bartender Josh was friendly and accommodating making suggestions based on things that we both liked. We decided on the charcuterie board and could not have been more enamored by the variety. I personally fell in love with the chefs compound cheddar cheese. While I've been to this restaurant before and had great service, tonight was in my top 3 worst customer service experiences ever at a restaurant (globally). Took 15 to 20 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge we had been seated at a table. No wait staff coming over with water, no one coming over to greet etc. It took one of us walking to the entrance of the restaurant to be approached by a manager asking what we needed. (I joked that we weren't meeting the restaurant's age tier for clientele even though we're 36 to 41 YO and dressed well enough to be in their restaurant spending $$$.) The so-called manager came to our table and told us he'd ensure to have someone coming over and kindly took our drink orders / app order. He even went so far to say he'd go out of his way to wait on us if we didn't get good service. We all ordered drinks + an app and 7 to 8 minutes later two waters came over for four people. Three of us ordered water...the waitress that brought the waters laughed and said, "He said there were only two people here." At this point we should have laughed at them and gotten the hell out. The waitress was sincerely apologetic and told us no one had told her the table had been sat. She took our order later which we asked to come out at once/altogether since we had been sitting there for almost 30 to 45 minutes at this point for no reason other than server laziness or being completely ignored and them unorganized. The restaurant was empty. While the food is good, it's not worth the terrible experience and price point you pay to deal with the horrible service! The most disturbing part about the entire experience is there was no compensation for any of this restaurant's terrible mistakes. They didn't offer to pay or comp for anything on our bill... Three out of four of us at dinner worked in the fine dining/restaurant industry for 10+ years...combined over 40 years. While we've moved on to other careers, we were truly appalled that someone is running their establishment like this. Good luck read more

I came here with some friends since we were all in the mood for brunch cocktails and everyone wanted something different to eat, so we figured a buffet should please everyone. And it most certainly did! Since my friends and I just decided to come here on a whim we didn't have a reservation so we did have to wait... but it was well worth it! I am a huge spicy bloody mary fan and ordered that to start. I thought it was just okay, I tried their mimosa and actually liked it better. Oh the food... I loved the variety they offer for brunch, from the made to order omelettes and waffles, to eggs benedict, smoked salmon and bagels, rolled prime rib, hash browns, and more! Seriously, the fact that they offer such a variety of options made it so difficult to even know where to start! I tried my absolute best to sample everything but, alas, I could not get to everything. I will say my favorite item was the rolled prime rib but the spicy shrimp and grits was a very close second. I do appreciate that they make omelets and waffles to order though! Just a note, if you are ordering a waffle just know that it's a triangle portion, not a full Belgian waffle. It's probably better that way so they don't waste waffles because I'm sure people want to fill up on other delicious foods. Honestly, for the price of the buffet, it is totally worth it! Our absolute favorite place!! If you're from upstate NY and missing salad pizza, this place will make it for you & it's absolutely amazing! Everytime we come, our servers are absolutely phenomenal.
