    What's lunch without dessert?

The service was friendly and prompt. The food was fresh and delicious. I sat outside at the small patio tables. Granted it's located near a busy street but with a good martini it's easy to ignore.

I had an enjoyable lunch while sitting outside with my friend. We both ordered salads, mine with Gyro, and hers with grilled chicken. We were given some tzatziki, which was excellent. The bread, warm from the oven, came with an olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. The Gyro meat was thinly sliced and so flavorful! Our waitress was friendly and not intrusive. Decent prices for what we ordered. Their menu is a mix of Greek and Italian dishes. Looking forward to going back to try some other items on the menu.

Very disappointed after seeing so many great reviews. The app of Saganaki was not melted and hard. The gyro was thin and overcooked and little to no meat.

I've been eating great Gyros for over 40 years! Had them in Cleveland, Chicago, New York, DC, and even Greece! I've even served store bought frozen ones from a Restaurant Wholesaler Store at my NFL Tailgates for years! However today I got shocked! I had an urge for one today in Wilmington NC and heard the Olympia Restaurant was one of the most authentic in the area! So I was so happy to try this local place......until I got my gyro! I was shocked that the Gyro was the same processed frozen meat I served so many times, well almost! I think the ones I served were more tasty! Anyway, just disappointed a restaurant who claims to be authentic would serve something like this! I won't be going back!m

Amazing food. In my opinion best in Wilmington for cuisine. Service was amazing. Right around corner from my house so I frequent.

We started with an appetizer we have not had before and we really enjoyed it. Get the Crab dip. You get a hot, bubbly dish of the dip with some fried pita chips. Get some bread at the table too, so you can enjoy the dip if you run out of chips. My husband loved it so much he ate it plain. We got some excellent entrees this time. We had the Figure 8 stuffed flounder. Instead of the green beans and risotto, he got risotto cakes and sautéed spinach. Risotto cakes are really good. Nice and crispy and so tasty. We also had the lemon pepper scallops with risotto cakes and asparagus. We really enjoyed everything and our server was so nice. I didn't take a pic but I also had the handcrafted lemonade which is delicious. Unfortunately no room for dessert, but they have some yummy selections to try. We have enjoyed coming here repeatedly and do enjoy this place. We have had very few minor issues that were not deal breakers for coming in. As with any restaurant, they will have some minor flaws. Overall it is consistently good.

Wish we were in the main room. Anyway, good size menu. Everything you need from chowder, fried platters, broiled dishes and non dish items too. We went with the basic fried platters. The flounder was good, hot and crispy. The fries basic. Cole slaw tasty. The hushpuppies were not good. Small, over cooked and dry. The food came out fast. The service was great. They had good dinner specials and bar specials too. I will be back. It's a good neighborhood restaurant. 3.5 stars. But sure it will be a four next visit.

So definitely book a reservation in advance if you can. We started with a dozen local oysters and they were very good. It was our first time trying NC oysters. The tuna crudo was delicious as were the complimentary cornbread. However the entrees stole the show. My wife really enjoyed her cioppino. It was different from the Cioppino we get on the west coast. I decided to give the swordfish a try based on the reviews. I've tried swordfish a few times in the past and have always been disappointed. However this recipe has turned me into a fan. It was the most delicious swordfish that I have ever had. It wasn't dry or fishy tasting. It was just perfect!

The funny part? The kitchen initially sent out the shrimp dish... without the shrimp. We had to ask for them to bring the missing shrimp, which they quickly corrected. I couldn't help but imagine Chef Gordon Ramsay standing in the kitchen shouting, "You served the shrimp dish without any shrimp, you muppet!" That alone was worth a chuckle. We sat at the bar, where service is usually outstanding. This time the bartender was clearly overwhelmed and stretched thin, so things moved a little slower than normal. Even so, everyone remained professional and friendly. Chef Dean Neff has set a very high standard here, and it's easy to understand why Seabird has received so much recognition and James Beard attention over the years. The food quality, creativity, and consistency continue to make it one of our favorite spots in Wilmington. A missing shrimp on a shrimp dish and slower-than-usual bar service keep this from being a perfect score, but neither issue was enough to spoil the meal.

For dinner my husband ordered the shrimp po boy and really liked the shrimp. I had the fried shrimp platter. It came with coleslaw, string fries, and hush puppies. We started with a dozen oysters. Unfortunately, the presentation and accompaniments were disappointing--cocktail sauce and horseradish were combined in the same container, and the mignonette lacked flavor. More concerning, several of the oysters had small pieces of shell in them. We ordered another half dozen, but they sat on the counter for quite a while. Multiple servers walked past them before they were finally brought to our table, which was frustrating. To make matters worse, my husband noticed a server drop a ticket on the floor, pick it up, and then place it back above the food that was waiting to be served. That raised some serious concerns about food handling and cleanliness. Overall, while the oyster selection is impressive, the service and attention to detail really fell short of expectations.
