Oh chef or owner, what happened? The food quality was not what it used to be. My chicken piccata was heavy on corn starch. The hummus was grainy. The chicken Athena had a frozen cooked spinach flavor. I was so sad. The staff were so nice though. Please make changes. read more

Service was nice, brought forth a dinner item that was requested for lunch. Food was good, not great! I'm a big fan of Greek food, but I guess there are regional differences. This was not Cretan quinine! (I worked in a Cretan/Turkish restaurant in college. Payment for bussing tables was in meals, and this Moussaka was pretty bland, used ground beef with no lamb, but it DID use sliced potatoes instead of pasta. Overall fairly good, but not great. read more

Amazing food. In my opinion best in Wilmington for cuisine. Service was amazing. Right around corner from my house so I frequent.

The service was friendly and prompt. The food was fresh and delicious. I sat outside at the small patio tables. Granted it's located near a busy street but with a good martini it's easy to ignore. read more

I had an enjoyable lunch while sitting outside with my friend. We both ordered salads, mine with Gyro, and hers with grilled chicken. We were given some tzatziki, which was excellent. The bread, warm from the oven, came with an olive oil and balsamic dipping sauce. The Gyro meat was thinly sliced and so flavorful! Our waitress was friendly and not intrusive. Decent prices for what we ordered. Their menu is a mix of Greek and Italian dishes. Looking forward to going back to try some other items on the menu. read more

The warm shrimp salad was incredible! It is an off menu dish you have to know about!! They need to put it back on menu!!

Great staff, food, and MARTINIS! Ha! I know it's a Greek restaurant, but this review is of the great service, martinis and cheese burger. Someday I'm going to order falafel or something, but the BURGER is the bomb! The place is casual and easy. I think I'm going go there now, this review writing is making me hungry! read more

The saganaki was excellent. The Athenian flounder was pretty good. Otherwise everything else was subpar, bland. The server messed up multiple times (maybe didn't pay attention well). Would go back only because there aren't many options for Greek food. read more

Everything about the olympia has been consistent for over twenty five years that I have followed them around, from wrightsville beach to the oleander location, they have always been a great choice. read more

Very disappointed after seeing so many great reviews. The app of Saganaki was not melted and hard. The gyro was thin and overcooked and little to no meat. read more

Very cozy little restaurant. Good vodka martini. The food was fun and very good. Scallops were a touch small but delicious. We'll most definitely be back! read more

Microwaved gyros. Unbelievable that people would have so little care and passion in their food after investing so much into a restaurant, you're better off cooking food at home than patronizing this place. read more

Two stars is because the service was good. Otherwise, straight up zero stars. This place claims to have authentic greek food. Plain, simple and easy as it gets greek are gyros. Pre made frozen slices of meat on pita thrown in the microwave is far from authentic. Pita was like rubber by the time I took the first bite. Don't waste your time or money going here! read more

I've been eating great Gyros for over 40 years! Had them in Cleveland, Chicago, New York, DC, and even Greece! I've even served store bought frozen ones from a Restaurant Wholesaler Store at my NFL Tailgates for years! However today I got shocked! I had an urge for one today in Wilmington NC and heard the Olympia Restaurant was one of the most authentic in the area! So I was so happy to try this local place......until I got my gyro! I was shocked that the Gyro was the same processed frozen meat I served so many times, well almost! I think the ones I served were more tasty! Anyway, just disappointed a restaurant who claims to be authentic would serve something like this! I won't be going back!m read more

Gordon Ramsey, please come here and save this nightmare kitchen. This restaurant is a perfect candidate for your show. I feel sick to my stomach after eating a microwaved gyro from here. It was the worst one I've ever had. read more

I'm surprised this place has gotten such low ratings. I think it has really fresh and authentic Greek food. The atmosphere is a little old school, but the staff is cool and the food is good. No better Greek food in Wilmington!! read more

The food was okay. Nice portions. The service was terrible. No water was offered, and when I asked for a glass the staff forgot! It wasn't that busy. Menu had many choices; my partner really enjoyed his lamb special. read more

The only place in Wilmington with great affordable Greek food. It's family owned too!

Very nice restaurant, casual, comfortable, and quiet enough to allow comfortable conversation. Staff is friendly and attentive. Menu is narrower than many Greek/Mediterranean restaurants, but broad enough to accommodate mast diners . Food is well-prepared and presented.Overall, pleasing, and worth return visits. read more

This a great family restaurant. The food is simple and enjoyable. My wife and I enjoy the lamb and Greek salads! The leg of lamb by far is my favorite. The staff are amazing; although they were busy compared to other time we have dinned; they accommodated us with the utmost hospitality. read more

The food here is part Greek, part Italian, and part seafood cooked in many styles. Had the moussaka and a burger and both were good. I was not in the mood for the menu, hence the burger. I was hoping for some specials that others had mentioned, but did not see them offered. Very professional wait staff, loved them. The have a large space available for groups of 30 or so, which is nice, and they did a great job with us. read more

The place is dirty - floors, baseboards, etc.... Had not been cleaned in a while. The scallops were so rubbery as to be inedible - sent it back. Will not recommend or return. read more

Had a great experience at Olympia today. Our meal was so fresh and filling. I had the salmon with greek salad. It has a lot of flavor and the portion was perfect. Before the meal they bring you out perfectly cooked pita bread with oil and vinegar. So delicious. Very authentic and a good atmosphere inside. Would like to go back and try other options. read more

Olympia Restaurant - Salmon - Greek Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

My best friend and I stopped in for the first time today for my birthday lunch. We sat at the bar and had fantastic service. The drinks were spectacular and the food was fresh, hot and delicious. I didn't catch the name of our first bartender but our second bartender, Jamie was equally amazing and went out of her way to sing me happy birthday and we had a great conversation. 10/10 recommendation this place! read more

One of our local faves. The lemon chicken soup is AMAZING. The service is always attentive and kind. Last trip I got the Country Salad (basic Greek Salad, Feta, Olives, etc) with Blackened Chicken, the Mrs got Chicken Pita (with that amazing soup). Olympia Restaurant - Dining Room - Greek Near Me - Wilmington, North Carolina

I've lived in wilmington for 9 years and had never tried this place until yesterday. And there was good reason why. It was an unappetizing overpriced dinner. The Food: Some of the lowest quality I've gotten from a restaurant at dinner in a long time. I ordered the Greek salad. It was only Ice burg lettuce, generic Italian/greek dressing, couple olives, huge tomato, red onion for $10. The flounder Athenian with fresh vegetables and rice pilaf: Awful tasting sides. No flavor in any of it and the pilaf plain and tasted old and veggies were completely bland and steamed out of a bag with no oil or salt even. $19 Shrimp Santorini: They were out of angel hair pasta so I got Linguini. Again the dish had no flavor. Could barely taste the garlic wine sauce and the ingredients again tasted caned and not fresh. $19 We both ate about 25% of our meal before giving up on it and being really disappointed we didn't say anything. But we could tell it was the bad food quality and recipes that we didn't like and most likely couldn't be fixed. The price: Overpriced for the cheap quality food. $55 for dinner then 20% tip left on top of course cause it wasn't the waitress fault the dinner was awful. The service: our server was lovely and the only reason we didn't complain or ask for our money back. The cleanliness: rather disgusting. The tile floors were filthy covered in cracked on black flood stains and dirty walls. It looked like the restaurant had never properly been moped or floors scrubs. The servers were sweeping up around us though. read more

Was excited to try Olympia after hearing some good things! Inside we found a cheerful server and a unique bar. We decided to order the Zeus platter to split, but asked if things could be grilled rather than fried. We said if not, no big deal - we can get something else. We were assured this was "no problem." Everything came out deep fried and dripping in grease! We had heard our server call out the instructions to the kitchen, so we didn't call her out on the issue. However, then her service went down hill. I sat with an empty water glass while being the only table in the house for example and it took us forever to get the check. Not only that, but for fried food - it was still poor quality. I wanted it to be good and hopefully they do something else well, but this was a deal breaking visit for me! read more

The Fish n Chips were cooked perfectly. While not necessarily a Greek dish, it is a reflection of the menu which has something for everyone. Definitely going back. read more

Had diner last night at Olympia with ours friends. The food was great. Really enjoyed the saganoki appetizer. The portions were generous and the quality excellent. The only thing better than the food was the service. Our server Jainie always had a smile and was very helpful with explanations of the dishes. She divided out 2 deserts into 4 portions so it was easier to share. Looking forward to a return trip and will request Jainie as our server. read more

Some of the best food and best service in Wilmington NC. Love this place. Blackened shrimp salad for lunch is banging.

Typically, my reviews of a restaurant are bourne of some craving for a particular food. To save you the mystery, yes I was craving good Greek food and needed a fix. I have driven past the Olympia many times so today my craving had me pull the pin and drop in. The menu was pretty complete, I was craving Soulvaki but it was not found on the menu :( Instead I took the plunge for the Zeus Platter (appetizer) and Chicken Pita. Zeus ROCKED! Hummus (yummo), skordalia (basically cold garlic mashed potatoes weird but good), shrimp (yummo x2), scallops (yummo x3), spanikopita (outstanding) and stuffed grape leaves (OMG!!!). The chicken pita was great too and the tzatzki was great! My partner had the Sliced Lamb Pita and I snagged a taste, incredible! He guarded the rest like a junk yard dog and when I whined for another piece sneaking across the table to snag one, I almost got a fork in the back of my hand! I will order that the next time for sure and have my fork poised for anyone who dares to snag the lamby goodness of this pita. The waitstaff was friendly, kept the drinks full and checked in frequently without being obnoxious. Good waitstaff in Wilmington is a rarity and one of my peeves. All around the Olympia is a great find and the food is worthy of any Greek craving...Opa! read more

Very long wait, poor service and the food was not very good. My "sea bass" appeared to be more like tilapia and my salad was larger than my entree. Disappointed read more
