    Margarhetia pizza (half way gone)

Recently tried this place back in December and haven't stopped going back since. The food is great but the customer service is the best! We've had pizza delivered twice now & both times the delivery guys have been incredibly kind and personable! For the portions & quality - this place is a must try!! & don't skip out on the Tomato Basil soup- so good!!!

Italian Bistro has been my go-to for quality Italian food for almost three years now. The pizza is excellent, and gluten free crust is an option. The pizza, calzones, and stromboli are the best I've ever had, and I've lived in several states and countries and have sampled Italian food far and wide, but what puts this restaurant over the top is the fact that they also serve excellent salads. Some pizza bistros are more than happy to toss a few olives and a tomato slice on iceberg lettuce and call it a salad, but here, the salad is actually crafted as carefully as the pizza, which means a lot to me since vegetables and leafy greens are a must when it comes to my dietary needs. The Adriatic salad is so good that often times I come here just to get that. The small is really like a large, and the large feeds me for lunch and dinner. The staff is always friend and service is excellent, and that's saying a lot being that the Hampstead/Surf City location borders tourist central. The bistro itself is quaint and perfectly suitable for dining inside, and the exterior does have a nice seating area with tables covered with umbrellas, which is where I like to sit if I come here after I've walked the Surf City Bridge and feel the need for a breeze.

Burnt chicken in the chicken carbonara ruined the entire plate.

Our first time trying this place (take out). Ordered: Chicken carbonara Manicotti Pros: -Friendly staff Cons: -Small dinner portions for the price -Burnt chicken - ruined the chicken carbonara -Minimal seating for dining in -30 minute wait to get food -No garlic bread or plain bread included with meal -Manicotti was received cold. -Only dinner portions offered at night. Not sure if we will return

For as much as I paid for this I had hoped to get a full portion. With sauce lol. The pizza was fine

Garbage. Waited 2 hours for ice cold food that went straight into the trash can. Nothing close on being Italian.

Conveniently located in the center of Topsail Island, it was a 15-minute drive from our 2022 Airbnb stay. With next two stays at Saltwater Suites in 2025, the drive was less than 5 minutes. In the three stays, we had breakfast here six times. It had everything we wanted. My son and I are sticklers for routine. In the first four visits, we ordered the same thing: 2 scrambled eggs with toast & home fries for me, and pancakes for him. Orders were placed at the counter. Then we went upstairs to the dining area and waited for the orders to be served. There were no issues with the order, food or service during these visits. In both 2022 visits, I had coffee; in both 2025 visits, I had Mountain Dew. Refills are free for both coffee and soda. My order tasted better than a similar one I had at Tick Tock Diner in New York City. It was great value for money. I always felt that I ate enough to last me through lunch. There was no reason to try anything different. Unlike Tick Tock Diner, NY Corner Deli did not have any TVs in the dining area. I appreciated this as we go to the beach to get away from the world. Furthermore, there weren't many people in the dining area whenever we were here (before 9am). Can't speak for the dining experience at any other time of the day. Things were slightly different when we visited in 2026. Pancakes were not available, so son had french toasts in both visits. In the first visit, I ordered my usual; in the second visit, I tried something different and ordered western omelet (with toast & home fries). Don't let the photo fool you. The western omelet was bigger than it looked. "Hearty" is an understatement. It was so filling that I skipped lunch and had a light dinner. Mountain Dew was no longer available as the establishment defected to Coca-Cola, so I had Coke Classic both times. If you like a decent breakfast and a quiet atmosphere, New York Corner Deli is the place to be. It will continue to be our breakfast place whenever we are in the Topsail / Surf City area.

The walls are covered in black-and-white prints of the Brooklyn Bridge, sepia-toned yellow cabs, and metal street signs screaming Broadway and 5th Ave. The seating is divided into two thrillingly average, non-beachy options: Upstairs or Downstairs. Both levels feature the exact same standard-issue, wobbly metal diner chairs, with vinyl tables upstairs. The menu is an everything menu, nothing specific, no specialties, consider this a one stop shop for anytime of the day. It serves up a breakfast that is heavy, completely unpretentious, and designed to fill you to the brim. Like the rest of the menu, it doesn't aim for culinary innovation; it aims for maximum density and they are open when everyone else is closed. By the time you scrape the plate clean, you are utterly, heavily full and ready to take on the day. Cheers!

My SO and I checked it out for a quick dinner on Tuesday evening. I hope they do well and remain open, as I believe many people are still discovering what Vietnamese food truly is in this area. If you're reading this, I highly recommend you give it a try! Healthy, delicious food. STAFF We were greeted by two friendly wait staff upon entrance and asked if it was for dine-in or to-go. We dined in and the gentleman staff assisted us. He was attentive and did a great job! INTERIOR Spacious and clean. Plenty of tables that seat 2-4 and larger parties if tables are combined. I appreciate the Vietnamese pop music playing. FOOD -Crispy Eggrolls: These are shrimp-based egg rolls. The shrimp in the filling were fresh. Other items in the filling include cabbage, carrots, onions, and clear vermicelli rice noodles. Overall, the shrimp were fresh. -Combination Pho: I ordered a regular bowl which had plentiful portion. This came with ribeye, beef brisket, and meatball. The garnishes included jalapeno slices with seeds removed, bean sprouts, basil leaves, and a lime wedge. Sriracha and hoisin condiments were available at the table. The broth was tasty and fragrant. Everything was delicious! There was a good ratio of pho noodles to protein. -Grilled Pork Banh Mi: A solid baguette. I appreciate the pickled carrots and radish-- not overly pickled. It comes with cucumber, jalapeño, and a house mayo that's spread onto the baguette. I must add, the house special mayo saved the sandwich. The grilled pork is cooked well but could use a little more seasoning. Recommend this for a lighter meal. Overall, a delicious meal with excellent food quality.

This is our go to spot if I'm not making Pho at home or if we need a quick dinner solution. It typically takes 10-15 minutes for our order to be ready and their other dishes, such as the spring rolls and salad are also wonderful. Thankful for the quality ingredients they use, especially when others have cut corners to increase profit margin.

WAIT TIME/LINES We got there 1.5 hour till closing (7:30PM) and there was a decent line. We waited in line for about 25 minutes until we got to the registrar to order. Apparently, the staff member informed us the line was wrapped around the shack earlier in the day so I'd say we got lucky with our timing. SERVICE Customer service was excellent. There was a staff member consistently handing out samples of the Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque while we waited in line. During our dining experience, the staff member came around with various samples of Whoopie Pies. DINING AREA There are a decent amount of picnic style dining tables around the back of the shack. All outdoor seating. I wish there was more shade as the sun was setting and it gets pretty hot with the humidity. FOOD - Maine LobSTAH Roll:I ordered this along with a few others in my party. It comes with your choice of Plugra melted butter, mayo, or both! The mayo was a packet, in case you were wondering. I thought it was a house-made mayo with herbs infused, which would be a great idea for them to add some freshness to the dish. The lobster was the star of the show -- fresh, large chunks, and a plentiful portion. The bun was toasted. It came with a lemon wedge, half a pickle spear, cole slaw, and a bag of Cape Cod potato chips. The cole slaw was tasty -- I appreciate the chopped approach. - Maine Lobstah Bowl: A few family members ordered this. It mainly consisted of lobster, slaw, and lettuce. Delicious. Overall, cute Main LobSTAH Shack with good Maine lobSTAH!

I can't tell if they delete them on purpose or if they have major issues with their entire system. Sadly, because of this I will write less and not waste my time redoing it. Yes the lobster is good, and the guy who took our order was funny and friendly. Our food came out fast and was exactly what we expected from a Maine lobster shack. You eat outside under a shade on picnic tables. There is no inside so keep that in mind and if you need the restroom they don't have one, you'll need to run across the parking lot to the tackle and bait fishing shop (which is a really cool store and lots of boating, touristy, beach stuff too). To us where they really shined was the soups. I had the clam chowder and my wife had lobster bisque. Both were excellent! Almost everyone sells clam chowder up and down the barrier islands but many do the water based version with canned clams which are hard and too chewy. This was a proper clam chowder made with fresh clams and real cream. It was spot on. The same for the bisque. If you're unsure, they offer sample tastes of the soups. Will we go back? Yes. Was it expensive? Yes. We spent $90 bucks for lunch and that's a lot for us so it won't be a regular stop for us, if we were more affluent we would eat here more often.
