The food here is TRASH!!! First of all the staff are very sweet loved them all especially Vincente. He was awesome. But secondly they gave us a menu at each meal no matter the time, and over half the stuff on the menu they didn't have. For breakfast they had no breakfast meat. No bacon, no chorizo (shocking in Mexico), nothing. But they had turkey ham but inside an omelet. That's it! Wtf?! Like really?! They advertise multiple restaurants but they only have one. One. One, one effing dining room. Most staff don't speak English so if you need extras like pepper and salt you won't get it. Ketchup? Forget about it. Ice? Yea right! We had to literally walk over to the kitchen and say HEY! Sir! Can I have some ICE! Damn! Steak automatically comes with brown gravy. Oh and don't let me get started on the dessert. Carrot cake had no carrot in it what so ever! did not have any ACTUAL carrot flavoring in it at all! Seriously. I couldn't place the flavoring. The brownie cake or pie or whatever it was tasted like it was a "just add water" And poof! A dessert. The taste was so off putting it was far from edible. Man. The mousse cake tasted like some type of weird jelly? I couldn't really place what it was. Steak was rough and tough. Couldn't even cut it with a knife. And to top it all off. The bartender at the pool bar had the AUDACITY to tap on the tip jar with a spoon. So. are tips required? At an all inclusive resort? I'm just asking cause sir. What the entire fuck! I ended up throwing like $20 worth of ones in the jar cause we had a party of 12. But this resort needs new chefs. Immediately. I WILL NOT RETURN. For $2000 canadian we've got: a room that smells like a sewage, no beech towels, breakfast of horrible quality (after this experience, Cuban food would be like the one from the 5-star restaurant), NO BEACH, outdated shower with moldy floor. This is all our dissapointment in one statement. And it is only the 1st day. DO NOT BELIEVE THE DESCRIPTION OF THIS HOTEL ON THE INTERNET: no buffet, minimal juices, and they are not fresh. I would honestly stay here again solely based on location. It is in the dead centre of Tulum. A straight 12 min bike ride to right of the hotel will bring you past Playa Paraiso and straight to the Tulum ruins. A straight bike ride to the left and you will be in the more bougie area of Tulum, where all the fancy hotels, bars and boutiques are. It's pretty safe biking, as the cars are used to the bikers and just go around you safely. The roads aren't super busy at all times. There are pockets of traffic that last about a minute and you're in the clear again to bike freely. Oh and I forgot to mention that Kore Tulum rents out the bikes for FREE from 7am - 6pm. We saved so much money biking everywhere, especially to the beach everyday. Although, the hotel does provides a shuttle. But the bike ride is literally 10 mins, so why bother. There is a spa scent in the air as soon as you walk towards the entrance of the hotel. I love that! You feel like you're in the jungle on the hotel grounds, as you are surrounded by trees. Oh and they also offer you a delicious welcome drink. It was seriously so good. I also forgot to mention that the hotel is extra safe and secure. They account for their guests each time they enter and exit and will not let anyone past the gates that aren't supposed to be there. This made us feel very good about staying there. I noticed they even mark down the taxi number that's dropping you back to the hotel. The rooms are very spacious and I love that there were his and her sinks in our room. But on this particular trip, it was hers and hers sinks. Girls need their space yo! The washroom in general was pretty spacious and had a nice large walk in shower. No problems with hot water in our showers. You need to let it run for a minute or 2 and it's the perfect temp. The furthest you can turn the tap won't be scalding hot. It will be the perfect hot temp for a shower, in my opinion. We were able to use the spa to change, as we had a later flight but found that there was no water in the change room area. We turned on all the sink taps and shower taps and no water was coming out. Even the toilets wouldn't flush. We had to ask them twice to turn on. The first time to change into our bathing suits and the second time to change out of our bathing suits into our flight home clothes. I found this a little odd but nothing that really bothered me or affected my stay/trip. The buffet food is not that amazing. I'm not going to lie. However, you will always find something to eat, even as a picky eater. We preferred ordering off the a la carte menus and we ordered room service several times. Some meals off the menus worth mentioning are the club sandwich on the lunch and room service menu, as well as the burger and popcorn chicken. Ask for chipotle mayo for the chicken. We also discovered, on our last day, the Thai fish ceviche. My friend ordered this and was in love. She was disappointed we didn't see the lunch menu earlier, as she would have gotten this everyday. Also, you're in Mexico, their guacamole and pico di gallo was AMAZING!! One day my gf and I just ordered a bowl of this with nachos by the pool and scarfed it down. Not a single avocado chunk or tomato was left behind. It was soooooo good! Anyways, as basically the only AI in the centre of Tulum, I think it's totally worth it. We reserved everything through Expedia for our first class flights and resort stay at Kore Tulum. We have never been to Tulum, MX but many people have said so many great things about it. When we landed and made it out of the airport we found our private shuttle we booked online through Expedia, which is completely worth it. It is about 1.5 from the Cancun airport. They sanitized our luggage before putting in the van. When we got to the resort till we left we had 5 star service. Everyone was very helpful, kind, and just wanted us to have a great time. Check in was easy, WiFi is strong where we could make some FaceTime calls as well. They also offer a complimentary welcome drink which is so refreshing. We booked a honeymoon suit. Everything looked amazing. We got beautiful animals made out of towels, champagne, and some dessert. The hot tub was also in the room. We didn't use it because it looked old. I didn't feel comfortable using it. Our water in the shower wasn't the warmest. We called to have it fixed it. They tried but didn't help much. Food and drinks would be the category that really needs some help in my opinion. Most of the food was sub par. Nothing we ate had the wow affect. The only I can say that was beyond amazing was a dessert that had passion fruit. It was like a cream puff without the cream. I had 3 orders so delicious. Breakfast and lunch menu was the same every day. The dinner menu changed every night. Our disappointment came when it was Mexican night but they didn't serve tacos. You can't come to Mexico and not try the tacos! We got the all exclusive package. The drinks were very weak barely any alcohol. What we needed doing is tipping more and than we got the good stuff and better drinks. Anytime we left the resort the lobby staff was extremely helpful and kind. They offer free bicycles. We took them to the ruins and beach. The staff all had face masks on. The food staff all had hair nets, face mask, and shields on in 100 degree heat. Felt really bad for them. We felt like we had the resort to ourselves many of the times because it was so empty. We kind of liked that. The pool table is extremely old and doesn't really work, but still fun to use. Lastly, the spa! We booked a couples massage. It was 5 star all around. One of our highlights. I have had plenty of massages in my life time and by far too massage. Kinda wanted to give 2 stars but after going down for breakfast which is supposed to start at 6 ,early flight I'm told not till 7. Also after being soaked in a rain Strom I asked to dry my trainers of which the manager said he'd call in an hour to let me know cool if unable to provide but at lest call furthermore a resort should have laundry service. On a good note the servers are nice the massage lady was sweet and gave a good massage . The food us ok mostly only ate breakfast. Free bikes altho a bit old . No yoga as advertised. Had a phenomenal time here at Kore. From the welcome cocktail, to the top notch security everything was fantastic. Sergio, the bartender at the bar by the lobby was our absolute FAVORITE. There were a few complaints such as feeling a little rushed to order our meals, and a few of the women staff not being the friendliest but the rest was lovely. Pools felt great, staff was very accommodating. The food like all places had some good plates and others which were not so favorable. Overall I would return to this establishment. But a heads up there is no beach access here, was not a big turn off for us since the beach is close by. read more

Would not recommend staying here. Even the spa is sooo low budget, not worth the money. The massage was good but the amenities and all of the things were cheap and unorganized. I would give it a 3. My wife and I went in march 2022. The rooms were nice for sure. The food was below average for an all inclusive. It seems most of Tulum is over run with grifters and the hotel is no exception. From the wait staff to the reception area and the tour guides, they are interested in over charging and under serving. Stayed 7 days at this all inclusive resort. It was ok in the beginning. Alcohol sucked though... totally watered down. Food was ok. Bed was horrible!! if you're looking for comfort, don't stay here! The views are breathtaking! Just beautiful!!! Housekeeping?? What's that?!?! My BF and I would usually leave our room fairly early and get back at about 5p. But unfortunately, the food is really lacking and also something really messed with our stomachs, we're guessing the ice (most resorts use only filtered water for ice but I'm not sure they were since after we stopped ordering ice, our stomachs got better)...could've also been one of their food items :/ also, the jacuzzi in our room would not run hot water and there were ants. Very nice all-inclusive! Staff are super helpful and always friendly! Loved the pool area and the amazing ocean views! Our room was large, clean and centrally located snd close to all the amenities! Food here was delicious and menu was rotated so something new to try every day! Location is ideal for all the local excursions...Tulum ruins, snorkeling, shopping at the central plaza, etc. Loved all the landscaping on the property and the breathtaking views from the cabanas. I would absolutely not stay here. Though the hotel looks beautiful the rooms are a bit outdated and they were so dusty we had to get our rooms changed. When we did there was mold and dust in the other room. There is no beach at all and the hotel is really a boutique hotel. The food options were not that great. They also have terrible customer service when it comes to the reservations/bookings side of things. They are really hard to get ahold of. DO NOT GO HERE!!! Cleanliness: 2/5 Service 2/5 Food 0/5 Views 4/5 The resort claims to be a 5 star resort, it's not even 3 I believe. The resort is pretty, but not 5 star for sure. We had originally booked all inclusive and when we got there we were told we don't have an all inclusive and would need $120/day for all inclusive package. We decided to see before we buy the all inclusive which turned out to be a wise decision. The first morning we went for breakfast, we had forgotten our cash in the room so we couldn't tip, which pissed the servers I guess. The second day we went for breakfast, the same lady who served us was so cold toward us when she seated us, then the staff didn't come to us for good 15-20 minutes. We could see them talk to each other in the corner but it felt like they were punishing us for not tipping them the day before. So we decided to give tip before they took our order and the service got decent after. Now coming to food, it tastes like you heat up bad leftovers in microwave. Other than nachos, there was nothing that was good and at times inedible. Two in our group were vegetarians, the steakhouse night, they had 0 vegetarian options, and they did not accommodate either. So we ended up ordering few sides and desserts and that was our dinner. They say they have two restaurants, but they only operate one at a time a VERY limited menu. Our last night, we ordered pasta (vegetarians) and I ordered parm chicken. It was a seafood cuisine night. My chicken was definitely microwaved and smelled and tasted like fish very heavily. The pasta was inedible, it tasted like eating raw dough with a can of oil!!!! It's a ripoff for those who are paying all inclusive for that food! Half of the time they were out of guacamole, but they would serve avocado and pico de gallo. So they had ingredients but no guac, LIKE HOW? The drinks were horrible! Way too sweet. They have only few drinks they can make. They couldn't make mojito or Long Island. I had pina colada two times in our entire stay, we couldn't drink what they had. The room: it definitely needs updating, the water pressure was so disappointing in the shower. It takes forever to wash hair because the pressure is so low. And the lighting was so bad, both of the lamps in the room didn't work. There wasn't enough light, and half the outlets didn't work. The bathroom wasn't very clean the first day we got there. We left tip for housekeeping, and our room was clean with fresh towels and hand wash towels the first and second day, then the housekeeping didn't see the tip we left for them and our room wasn't cleaned. The trash was left on the tv counter, dirty cups were still on the counter, no hand towels and we had been out of Kleenex for two days which we asked to replace. No refills for water bottles. We came back to the room and called for cups and towels, they would bring Half the items and we had to keep asking for rest of the items. It was extremely frustrating! THE MoST frustrating thing was our last night there, we had noticed the AC would be turned off every night for couple hours while we were sleeping. I like heat, but if I'm uncomfortable, everyone else around me is miserable. Our last night, our AC was off when we returned from our horrible dinner experience, I called the front desk after trying to turn it on, pressing all the buttons and holding down the buttons to see if it'll work. They sent someone over after few minutes, however as soon as they knocked on the door, our AC started, then he came, pressed the same button I had been pressing for so long and says "it's working." I was like it wasn't working. He goes "it's working" So we thank him and he leaves, then we notice the temp says 25degrees when we set the AC for 20 degrees so it had to be off for the room to be this hot. But we dismiss and try to enjoy our last night Amidst the disaster of a resort. Then I wake up at 4am extremely uncomfortable and hot, I check the AC and of course it's off again and I can't press any buttons. So I call again and they send someone again, but this time Before I opened the door, I checked to see if the power button will work. It didn't. However as soon as I open the door, I hear the AC go on again. The guy comes in presses the button and says "it's working" I tell him it wasn't because I had just checked before opening the door. He looks back at the AC to show me it's working. So I show him the temp is 24.5 deg when it should be 20 which we set the AC at. THEN he says "um it's back problem." I tell him next time be honest and tell us rather than make us look like crazy. He walks away and the AC turns off again after 20 minutes. I gave up after that. We were so frustrated and couldn't wait to leave. Do not waste your money here, go somewhere else. read more

It took about a hour of our time and we were told we would receive the photos in the future but we never did. I've tried to contact the staff but they have been unresponsive. I've called this place home for the last 6 days and was honestly sad to leave. We spent a lot of time at the resort (almost every meal), we loved our room, LOVED the wait staff who just go above and beyond for every guest. I really hope this review is seen by their bosses because they truly are phenomenal.  I hope they realize that.  Most of the meals downstairs for breakfast/dinner is buffet style but there are things you can order that aren't.  Just ask your server :).  We never went without drinks. Our empty plates never sat longer than 1-2 minuttes. They were so attentive to us! The dinner menu at the downstairs restaurant changes daily so it's not the same thing every day. The food wasn't the best food I've had in my life but it wasn't the worst. I'd probably rate that part a 3 out of 5. I thought the dinner on the sand one night followed by a dancing show was a neat experience.  We also had seen another show one other night we were there. Both were cool! We only went to the upstairs restaurant once. The menu wasn't as appealing to our group of 11. Also, menu food takes a bit long. As far as the room, I guess the only 2 things I didn't like is that there isn't an outlet by the bed and the bed is firm. The pillows were soft though so I was still able to sleep. They provide everything.  Even a shaving kit, toothbrush and toothpaste! Those are things I don't usually see at hotels. They gave the usual shampoo, conditioner,  body lotion, soap and shower cap as well. The room has a blow dryer, plenty of towels,  robes and slippers! I was surprised to see a scale in the bathroom. (I personally didn't care to see my weight on vaca after eating buffets! Ha). Room service is included in the all inclusive! That was nice! The resort provides beach cruisers which was a nice and easy 13 minutte ride to the Tulum ruins. Make sure you lock the bike up though or it's  $250 USD if something happens to it. I assure the bike isn't worth even half of that.  They're pretty old and rusted but they ride ok.  They will give you a lock to lock it up. The resort does not provide Wi-Fi and it's pretty expensive IMO per day.  I did find that to be silly. It doesn't have a beach access which is kind of a bummer. Closest beach access is prob a 7 or 8 minutte bike ride. They have a sand area with beach beds though.  And a small opening to the water but it was taped off. Hammock area was nice. 2 of the 4 hot tubs worked. The other were either cold or warm- not hot. I did try the hot tub in our room. The outdoor ones get dirty from trees but the cleaners cleaned it. I couldn't drain mine though. As for Security, we felt pretty safe.  It's gated and guarded 24/7. Nobody enters without guard letting them in and confirming what room # they're in and that they have bracelet. We are asked every time we came in and left. They also will flag down a taxi for us. The resorts front will break down larger bills for you. We appreciated that. Made it easier for us to tip. We also arrived way early for check in and they gave us bracelets to go eat lunch till our rooms were ready. They held on to our luggage for us. They also let us check in early after we ate and we were not charged extra. This  was awesome! One thing we were worried about since we knew we would get there too early. Plus we were hungry! At check out,  they gave us a voucher to stay longer and eat after we checked out and wait for our ride.  Like I said, staff was SO very good to us! ALL of us thought so. Check in was easy and pleasant. They charge for Wi-Fi in the room, which is not ideal. It was $18 a day and didn't work. The drinks they gave us upon check in were very good. Cucumber, mint and lime. Very refreshing. Nice pool and hot tubs. Spacious rooms with hot tubs. The bed was not super comfortable and we had a very thin blanket. No comforter. The AC situation was not good. It was either too cold or it didn't work. We couldn't turn it up past a certain point. We had to switch rooms on our last night in the middle of the night because the AC stopped working. The food was good, buffet was decent but ordering in the restaurant forever took a ridiculous amount of time. Room service is fairly quick but they always got something wrong. The most annoying thing was when we got there they said there was no beach access because it is too rocky by the hotel. When you book a beachfront hotel you expect to go to the beach from your hotel. There was tons of seaweed in the ocean anyway. Disappointing. The techs they sent to our room to deal with the AC did not speak English. Hard to communicate with people who are supposed to be helping you. A surprising number of staff didn't speak English, which surprised me since they work in hospitality. Only two outlets in our room worked. One panel fell out of the wall completely. It was ghetto. TV had no watchable channels. Mostly channels in Spanish. The spa was incredible smelling and they let us shower there after we checked out. Overall it was a decent deal considering the size of the hotel and the all inclusiveness, but it was less than ideal. They charge you for missing wristbands, which they don't tell you until you're checking out, so if you lost one, be prepared to scoop over $100. I guess they don't want people giving them away. Probably one of the worst places I've ever stayed at or been to. Their management sucks. Food sucks. The views are whatever. And there's nothing exciting about this so called overpriced resort. If you're looking for relaxation and for a home away from home experience...this is not it! Also their "front desk manager" Juan Laredo is a moron. I hope he sees this so learns what it means to be in management. He barely speaks English. Fine whatever it's Mexico, I should be speaking Spanish right? But this guy Doesn't know what communication is. Doesn't know how to be a manager, doesn't know what hospitality is but he's in this field of hospitality business. So problem number one, and this is the big one. We check in after a long day of travel and I go into the bathroom and feel a drop of water onto my scalp. I look up and nothing...so I brush it off and go on to unpack. About an hour later I decide to shower and try to get the hot warm going which by the way takes about ten minutes. And then I feel another drop of water hit my forehead this time...I look up and the ROOF IS LEAKING.... My friends and I realize there's a huge puddle on the floor as well and we throw towel onto the puddle and try to move all our bathroom things like our makeup, toothbrushes, facial products, and hair tools. It's all getting wet. We call the front desk and the phone decides to not work the first couple times we called. We finally get through and they send someone from maintenance who doesn't speak an ounce of English. The "fix" the problem and went away. About two hours later. Same problem. Roof is still leaking. And this time we're about to leave for a dinner reservation...we're running late and we call the front desk and ask if we could just get another room. They say no because it's all booked. Another maintenance guy comes in and at this point our other friends have already left to make the reservation and we don't know if we should just leave or wait it out...we wait and a second maintenance guy comes in to help. We call the desk and they said it'll take some time. So we decided to leave since all our valuables are locked in the safe. Before taking off in the taxi, we stop by the front desk and talk to Juan and address the problem with him face to face. He states that this is not his fault and that there's no way he can change our rooms or give us a refund for one night out of the three or do anything for us to apologize for the leaking roof in the bathroom. I'm appalled. Never once have I had to raise my voice with any hotel staff. I guess there's a first for everything though right? Things got heated and we exchanged words and my friends stepped in and said if the roof leaks again we want to be moved immediately. Next day arrives and guess what...the fuckin roof is leaking. Yes people, I'm not making this up. They say they can't move us that night and we will have to wait until the next day. We're late to every reservation we have , our other friends are getting annoyed as well, and we ourselves are having a frustrating trip because the bathroom is a mess! Finally they move us for our last night. They told us to leave our bags in our current room because the bell boys would move it to the new room. I come back to the new room and my friends bags are all there...my roller bag is missing! I'm frantically looking all over but nope. It's not there. I call the front desk and it took about ten minutes for them to understand what had happened and they said they would talk to the bell boys about it. Thirty minutes later someone shows up with my bag. Food and alcohol is shit here. The best think was their quesadilla and mojitos. The outdoor jacuzzis were all gross and had hair in it. Pool was dirty. No shots at the pool bar. Ocean is dirty and rough waters so you can't enjoy it. Save your money and go somewhere better. This place is trash. read more

I just stayed at Kore Tulum resort for the past 4 nights. The staff was incredibly fun, kind and helpful. The resort is beautiful if you're looking for a Hilton, 5-star vibe. It's all inclusive, but... that comes with its drawbacks, like food quality and alcohol options. However, at the end of the day, it's still pretty solid. I stayed in a King bed suite. The room was huge, beautiful and had a great ocean view from the Jacuzzi tub. The location is pretty nice in terms of proximity to the main road to the jungle, and the main strip of Tulum. They let you take the bicycles for free, so it's not too bad. You can cruise around everywhere. Although I would recommend having a car rental so you can drive to Chichen Itza, Valladolid, and Coba. There isn't a big beach front at the resort. Be aware, most of their beach front is a rock face, so you'll spend most of your time in the Kore pool, rather than the ocean. Overall I give it 5-stars because of the staff hospitality, cleanliness of the resort, convenient location, and all-inclusive pricing. If you're younger and trying to party in Tulum, this isn't the spot for you. This is more geared for a middle-aged crowd and relaxation. read more

This is probably one of the only normal resorts you'll find in Tulum. We decided to book here because it was really reasonable compared to a lot of the other "eco-chic" hotels in Tulum, and me and my boyfriend weren't too keen on the idea of paying $500+ a night for dirt floors and shared restrooms. And, we also got all inclusive included in our price so overall it was the best deal. We came here not planning on eating much of the all inclusive, but it wasn't that good anyways. Breakfast and lunch were decent, but dinner was pretty gross and the dining room was super tacky compared to everywhere else in the hotel. We did dinner the first night here and then the rest of the time ate out elsewhere. The rooms were awesome - huge and spacious, with a nice bathroom. Zero complaints whatsoever, way way better than a hut with dirt floors. The pool was great, service was pretty spare though, they definitely need more servers/bartenders taking orders. Obviously there isn't a beach but we just walked down to other beaches everyday. We enjoyed our stay here, and wouldn't think twice about coming back due to the level of "normal" resortness versus huts, but the great price as well. This is also in a great location, very centrally located on the beach and you can walk both ways down the road/beach and find all the other great hotels and bars. Was very happy with our stay at Kore. Our check in went smoothly, I booked a package deal through expedia. Our room was HUGE and was much more than we expected. We had 2 bathrooms, 2 hot tubs and a kitchenette, and was also supplied with bottles of alcohol and refreshments. We had an ocean view and the resort alone was beautiful. All the staff was very helpful and friendly, some only spoke a little English but still made the effort to accommodate. The food was good, some options were hit or miss but there was tons of variety so you weren't stuck with just one choice of food but it was fresh everytime. While there isn't beach access at the resort they provide a shuttle or taxi to take you to the beach club about 4 mins away, between certain times, or you can call your own taxi on your dime or use the bicycles. My friend doesn't know how to ride a bike so we used the taxi with no problems. The beach was perfect! I also booked a massage at the spa and it was soooo relaxing! The lady who gave my massage was awesome! The spa itself is clean, beautiful and peaceful. They also let me come back to use the sauna as a complimentary add on since I booked a massage which was also very nice. Had to sweat out my alcohol before our Chichen itza adventure lol. The manager of the hotel helped us book our adventure which was nice also. I was worried about the water when I read some people had problems with hot water but we didn't have that problem at all. Water was hot and the showers were great! We even used both showers at once and never had a problem. We did experience the sky rocket of water from using the indoor hot tub which I read about also lol. Housekeeping came asap and cleaned up the water and the next day a repair person came to look at it and I guess it's a normal thing cause they already knew. Also the water runs exxtraaa slow from the hot tubs so if you want to use it you have to just let hot water run for a long time before it's full. I took matters into my own hands and filled up ice buckets in the shower and added buckets lol, yes I was determined to have a bubble bath. Room service was okay. We only used it twice and both times are food tasted a little cold. Other than that everything was awesome! It exceeded our expectations and I would definitely stay here again. Also wanted to add that a/c worked really good, we actually had to turn it up and we didn't need Wifi since our cell service worked excellent so I can't comment on the wifi. I stayed here 5 days with my s/o we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I docked one star because it's not the best I've been too. We didn't spend our entire time at the resort we were out exploring Tulum. We spent one full day at the hotel and most of our evenings. Pros: Central to everything Walking distance to Tulum Ruins Only all inclusive hotel in Tulum Had different events every night Clean, spacious rooms with jetted tubs Great staff and bartenders Cons: Not a beach front resort Dirty pool Food I had no problems with the staff I only speak English and we seemed to understand each other just fine. The drinks weren't top shelf but I was able to explain to each bartender how I liked my drinks and they were able to deliver. The food was hit and miss, we ate to fill up & out of convenience but that's it--we mainly ate in town. The WIFI and AC seemed to work just fine in our room, the price is steep but it did its job. My biggest issue was the pool it was filthy, I mainly went in because of my bf but I refused to spend too much time in there. It's pretty from afar but once you get close to it, you'll see what I mean. read more

My wife and I had booked the Kore Resort 01/20 - 01/24/22. No fault of the resort, but when we arrived the front desk mentioned they were experiencing electrical problems & where using portable generators to supply limited & sporadic power to the rooms. We attempted one night without AC, hot water etc & it was miserable, hot & extremely humid. Windows opened, but no screens & the mosquitos would have eaten us alive. In the end we repositioned to another property. We tried to wave off friends arriving a day after us booked at the Kore Resort. Our friends where told three times from a rep that power was fully restored, not true three lies from the Kore. We booked through Snaptravel and they have basically closed the book on us regarding a refund for our unused days. I would not use Snaptravel for any bookings. The Kore should have stopped check ins / bookings with an uncertain power supply, and reached out to other properties as an option for guests already booked at the Kore Resort. read more

Accidentally booked a room and called *immediately* after, within seconds, to clarify that it was a mistake. They refused to refund me, giving me the runaround for days, then weeks. In the end they robbed me of over two thousand dollars even though I had never intended to stay there and never did. At the very least, I asked they roll over our payment so I could stay another time. I thought that would be fair, given they took my money and profited from it. However, they said they no. I think that goes to show once they take your money, they have no concern for your experience with their business. Maybe staying here is ok for some. But if you could stay at a hotel that *didn't* have predatory refund policies, why wouldn't you? I'd say choose another hotel. There are plenty of other good ones in the area. The staff is friendly and the property is great for rest and relaxation. The food on the days when our only choice is buffet could use some more flavor. I didn't taste one good dessert the entire 4 days. For someone with a sugar addiction this was not okay. It was a great place to go to decompress away from the demands of work. There were SO MANY THINGS WRONG with our stay!!! -Check in personnel was not friendly and didn't know the answers to any of our questions. Didn't know where/when the yoga was scheduled. -They charged us an extra $120 per night per person which we were not expecting. We paid it anyways, though. Then they called us twice the next day trying to get us to pay it again. Obviously, no one is organized at the desk. -The shortcut buttons on the phone did not work, so we continuously had to call the front desk and wait to be transferred. -After a long day of travel and upon arrival, we simply wanted something healthy, so we called room service and requested fruit. They refused and said that we could only order fruit at a certain time of the day. (Again, my friend is vegan and there were not any options.) When they finally agreed to bring us some apples, they wanted to come into the room and show us the menu and what we could and could not order. (My friend was already asleep at this point, so I told them no.) -Besides there being no healthy, tasty food, there was also a lack in decent adult beverages. My friend drinks beer and all they had was Heineken and then I drink wine and all that was offered was "red" or "white" - it tasted disgusting! -None of the staff would smile or greet us in passing, unless we said hello first. Also, we tried to speak and practice our Spanish and the staff was making fun of us. (They didn't realize that I was standing behind them, and that I understood what they were saying.) -The spa was hot, humid, lacking in amenities and the bathroom didn't even have tissues. -There were lots of ants in our room that got into our luggage. -Not many of the staff members knew English. -I asked for a towel for the pool and the staff did not understand me. I had to ask 3 different people and finally, come to find out, the towels were located at the front desk, not by the pool which would be soooo much more convenient. -The gym door barely shut and was very outdated. There were no towels for sweating. -We decided to sit in one of the cabanas to watch the sunset, but the curtain rod fell down on top of us, spilling our drinks. -We asked multiple times for a bottle of water during checking out, and no one ever brought any. -People were smoking all around the hotel grounds. We could smell smoke from our room and while we were doing yoga. I'm probably forgetting to mention something, but I'm tired of wasting any more or my time on this hotel. I wouldn't be surprised if another company was about to buy this hotel. It just seemed like the current management didn't care at all about what was going on. Very disappointing! The only thing good about this hotel was that you can use a bike for free and then bike to ANOTHER HOTEL to hang out where it's nicer!!! We will NOT be staying here again!!!! read more

I was honestly keeping expectations low based on the reviews here, but had an absolutely wonderful time at Kore! It's good for a short trip, rather than a week-long stay---my friends and I were doing a 4-day, 3-night bachelorette trip, and found the resort to be so nice and relaxing. The air conditioning worked well in the rooms, no complaints about the food, and the staff was really nice and accommodating. Rene actually saved the day when our ATV tour got cancelled, quickly organizing another option with a local taxi to be our guide for the day, which honestly worked out even better than our original plan. While there isn't direct access to the beach (it's an ironshore beach), you do get gorgeous seaside views, and the pool with the swim-up bar worked just as well for us. If you're expecting a massive all-inclusive resort like you'd get in Cancun, this is not that---it's a smaller, more intimate vibe, which was great for relaxing with friends for a long weekend. read more

Kore is a well run all inclusive resort with a beautiful view over a rocky (swimming not allowed) shore, a nice large pool, decent food, friendly staff, and close proximity to the Mayan ruins, swimmable public beach, and many good restaurants in Tulum. The important thing to know before deciding on an all inclusive resort in this area of Mexico is that there are tons of fun, affordable places for dinner nearby. We ate dinner out 6/7 nights. It would have been cheaper to stay at a resort that was not all inclusive. read more

Night one @Kore Check in process was very organized and friendly Arrived an hour before checkin so decided to eat - there is only 1 restaurant- lunch was good but very disappointed to see this that there is not additional restaurants for dinning, especially at an all inclusive resort. Dessert was a disappointment- very limited selection and not flavorful. Pool bar closes early and lobby bar stays open until 1. Hot tub Jets did not work- let a gentleman know and he never returned. Room was very clean and nice- water pressure was lacking in the shower and very little hot water Dinner- Thai food tonight, overall food was tasty- how ever was told that we were limited on some items like the sushi since it was an appetizer....part of an all inclusive is the unlimited piece. disappointed with the desserts. You are only allowed wifi connection for one device per person- which for a lot of us that are working on the go does not work. Highlight of the night, crepe lady was awesome!!! Day two: We left early for an excursion and returned to our room smelling of paint fumes. Turns out they were painting/renovating a room next to us. We called the front desk and asked to be moved and all they could do was offer to come to the room to spray some room deodorizer. Keep in mind that the resort is at 50-60% occupancy but we were told they had no other available rooms. We wen to dinner- one restaurant open- main courses were good- appetizers and desserts were disappointing- and again when attempting to attend to order more then one entree were told that we had already order a dish. The service here is amazing. Every person from security, to reception, restaurant staff, and housekeeping were so helpful and kind. The room was clean and spacious too. My only qualm with the room is that the water in the shower and hot tub never got hot. At best it was slightly cooler than room temperature, but bearable when it's warm out. AC and ceiling fan kept the room comfortable and cool. Most of the food at the restaurant (only 1 was open) was just ok. It seemed like they were trying too hard to make it fancy. Every night had a different menu. One night was "oriental" night, and another was Mexican night. We were excited for Mexican night, but were disappointed when we saw everything had some sort of fancy twist to it. That being said, it's hard to complain when drinks, food, and room service are all inclusive. No beach access but, Bikes were included too which made it easy to access Playa Paraiso and plenty of restaurants. read more

Kore Tulum is getting two stars only. One is for the delicious food and the other was for the kind staff serving the food and drinks only. As for management, I'd say they need a lot of work and get a big fat F for fail. My boyfriend and I checked in here for our vacation. Everything seemed to run smoothly at first. We were taken to our suite, which was, in quotes, "the best room on the entire resort." In fairness, the room was huge, clean, equipped with two Jacuzzi's (one indoor and the other out) with a beautiful ocean front view. I decide to shower before heading out to dinner and what would usually be a 15-20 minute shower turned into an hour long cold trickle. The pressure in the shower could be compared to a kinked garden hose at best and the water barely reaching warm, if not just plain old cold. Good luck if you plan on making your restaurant reservations on time. After dinner my boyfriend and I decided to have a romantic night in our indoor Jacuzzi. We turned the water on to fill the enormous tube, and again the pressure was less than a faucet in a gas station sink. Did I mention the water was cold too?.. We called the front desk asking if maybe it was something we were doing wrong, so they sent up a maintenance man to check things out. He came up and basically told us that its just how things were on the resort being that it was from an environmental friendly reservoir blah blah blah. He also said to give it at least 30-45 minutes to fill and never to fill it to the top. So, we wait... and waited... and finally the water reached the level the man told us to fill to. I turn the Jacuzzi jets on and it was as if A FIRE HOSE UNLEASHED IN OUR ROOM. Water was projecting out of the jets with a trajectory harder and faster than the fountains you'd see on the Las Vegas strip. Our room was saturated. The walls, couch, paintings on the wall and even the right edge of our bed was SOAKED. We called the front desk again and maintenance came back to see what we were talking about. Needless to say our room was soaked like this four more times just to be sure by the time they were done... We ended up re-packing all of our belongings and moved to the same suite on the other side of the hall. Security and the maintenance man basically watched us move our stuff by ourselves, making at least 8-10 trips back and forth from one room to the other with our belongings at 1 am in the morning in our bath robes. You'd think they send help or make sure we were comfortable after dealing with this debacle. After finally settling in, we just slept it off and waited until the morning to speak to management. We called the front desk numerous times asking to speak with the hotel manager and every time we were told the manager was not available or at a different hotel and the only thing they could offer was free wifi and late checkout as compensation, as if we wanted to stay there any longer or be on our phones on our vacations. Regardless, we would have paid for both if that was what we wanted. Overall the customer service was atrocious. We spent good money on the largest suite and supposedly the best room on the resort to be treated this way. I understand things happen, but the way this situation was handled was very poor and unprofessional. read more
