He's a very chill, easy going, nice guy. Any questions we had, special requests, etc. he took the time to talk to me and my husband, explain things to us and never rushed through anything. His communication is great and he responds in a timely manner. He has one helper that came with him a handful of times but the majority of the work was done by Miguel and his dad. There are a few things he sources out; a tile guy (more on the in a moment) someone who custom built our vanity, someone to cut the stone countertop and 2 guys that installed the carpet. No complaints on the people who came into our home. Onto the details.... The tile. WOW. Absolute perfection. Truly. Francisco (the tile guy) did a beautiful job. He took his time. You can tell he takes pride in his work. Seriously, it is *chefs kiss*. It's my favorite thing to look at in our new bathroom! I wish he was the one who did the tile in our other bathroom remodel last year. Sadly, it's less than perfect. We decided to splurge and go the custom route for our vanity and storage cupboards in this bathroom. You really can't beat custom. You can see the quality of it compared to the prefab stuff (like in our other bathroom). It's very nice and made with solid wood too. Not that crappy mdf/particle board that most things are made with these days. We did run into one issue. We brought it to Miguel's attention. He agreed with us on what was wrong, never once complained or argued about it and he MADE IT RIGHT. He got right on it and it was fixed in no time. That right there shows you the kind of business owner he is. We sincerely appreciate it. Trust me, it means A LOT. We had already been through 3, yes THREE, contractors before Miguel but no need to get into that negativity here. *sigh* We will 100% use Miguel for our next project, which we've already chatted with him about. I'm looking forward to it!

Martinez House Remodeling Outdoor Staircase Replacement…read more This is the second time we have used Joel for a home renovation, and both times the outcomes were outstanding. His process always started with a site visit, a thoughtful review of my needs, a budget analysis and a negotiation of cost saving opportunities. Joel prefers to do indoor remodeling, but he took on our outside job with enthusiasm, despite the terrible heat of late August. We wanted to repair some worn steps and loose rails on our staircase up to our garage, which admittedly had been neglected after a few paintings - it was almost 30 years old. After some discussion we decided to do a complete staircase replacement with pressure treated wood and select Trex composite square boards. The treads (steps) and stringers (side step supports) were fabricated with 3 1/2" finished thick on-ground pressure treated lumber (4" nominal thickness), the balusters were upgraded from 2 x 2" to 2 x 4" from the same wood, and the handrails were dense 2 x 6" Trex Transcend composite boards. Where a number of the old balusters and side rail structures were separated from their supports because of being connected by nails only, the entire new structure used decking screws, and the screwheads on the top of the handrails were plugged with matching composite plugs to be only visible by hunting for them. The old stairs were fairly secure, but the new staircase feels rock solid. Joel treated every cut wooden board end with copper-based preservative, and painted the exposed edges of composite boards with color matched paint. He also sealed some minor cracks with wood filler and did an extra preservative treatment layer on the thick stingers and treads. Joel finished the job with an extensive cleanup and washing of our concrete wall, which was much appreciated. Initially, the job was scheduled to take a bit more than a week. Despite losing a day because of a poor quality wood delivery and replacement. Joel and his team finished the job in 5 days, including on Saturday. Surprisingly, he was able to take down the old staircase and replace it with the basic supports and stairs on the first day, so we did not even lose one night of access to our garage and rear parking spot. I highly recommend Joel Martinez of Martinez House Remodeling for your next job. He might not be able to do all jobs, but if he can find a way to do it, you will not be disappointed. We will try to use him again.

When we had issues with some of the work done, Gabriel was right on it to make sure it was taken care of immediately. This type of attention is not always given with other people we've dealt with before. Gabe takes pride in his company to do an excellent job for his clients. More than five stars!…read more Succinctly, we met with three or four companies to get an estimate all of whom were pleasant but, somehow, did not seem as though they were listening to what we wanted. It was different with Ammar of Kitchen Cabinet Express, Inc. After a brief introduction and a short discussion of our intentions, he got right to the point, walking with my wife, measuring and making notes and asking questions. What resulted was a reasonable estimate for the work to be done and a plan and drawings that exactly reflected our wishes. The deadline for completion was originally set for the middle of March 2026 but was completed two weeks early. Members of Ammar's team and contractors were professional, conscientious, and hard working. They showed up on time, accomplished what was scheduled for each day. As work progressed, we desired some minor changes which Ammar and his team were very flexible and responsive in accomplishing professionally and quickly. At every point - daily work and especially at the conclusion - the site was cleaned up immaculately and all detritus was hauled away instantly. Also, a great deal of care was taken to mask, cover, and protect the house, furniture, and existing fixtures from the dust and soiling that was occasioned by the remodeling work! This review is being written a month after completion as we wanted to take our time to let the "newness" wear off and appraise the overall experience. After this time for evaluation, we find the craftsmanship flawless, the cabinets and showers and baths installed beautifully and -- overall -- the incorporation into our existing home has greatly upgraded the whole affair.
