They open at 7:30 AM on the dot. The staff was already hard at work baking and prepping drinks. I like stopping by when they open to grab something before work (plus the meter parking outside doesn't start until 8:30 AM, though there is no parking between 8:00 AM - 8:30 AM). Be aware that they only have the croissant products this early. The full pastry menu is available after 9 AM. They have signature pastries and drinks, and then seasonal pastries and drinks. This time around, I opted for a Spam and Cheese Pan Suisse, and their seasonal (Spring) Lychee Matcha Americano. For non seasonal drinks, I enjoy their Pandan Matcha. Their croissants are airy and crisp. The toppings/fillings are evenly spaced and flavorful. The Spam & Cheese Pan Suisse had a nice bit of kick. The Lychee Matcha Americano (no actual espresso, just the style with matcha instead of espresso) was lychee forward. The lychee jelly is cute, though not as much lychee flavor as the drink. They are a little pricey, but worth it as a treat here and there. They are all baked daily and in house (you can see them working in the back through the glass windows).

I cannot begin to explain how much I've been wanting to try this place. The first time I went, the selection was very minimal so I didn't want to make a judgement on whether or not I liked it. Then the second and third time I tried to go, it was unfortunately closed. But this time, not only was it open but the still had a huge selection of pastries to choose from. I was in love with these pastries but just to point out a couple of favorites. My absolute favorite was the ube donut. It was perfectly lightly sweet and the bread was nice and fluffy. My second favorite was the leche flan donut. I have been seeing this donut everywhere and it is definitely worth the hype (it only took second place because it was a little sweeter than I would've liked). The for the cookies, my absolute favorite was The Goddess. It had such a nice chewy texture and also was not too sweet. There was only one pastry I did not like but it might just be a personal thing. There was a rhubarb donut which was weirdly savory and bitter. It was very pretty and the idea was super interesting and on top of this, the donut itself was extremely soft but I couldn't get over the flavor. The service was really nice. I couldn't make it to the shop myself but the counter staff helped my fiancé with choosing a couple of pastries that they thought I might like.

Finally got a chance to try this Filipino bakery that's been all hype for years now. I was never able to get any of their baked goods when they were an online only business. It's nice that they decided to open a brick and mortar. The space is very well appointed with tons of options as well as seating to enjoy your goods. I decided to get the calimasi doughnut as well as the Ube cookie. Both were delicious and price point was to be expected given the uniqueness of the flavors. This is definitely not something that I would buy every day but as a once in a while, treat if i wanted to get something different. I guess my only qualm is that this bakery just does not fit the character of the Neighbourhood at all. This part of Sunnyside is very much working class and a boutique bakery just seems out of place and not in line with what most people can afford in the area. The space feels like it belongs more in Soho or the village or even LIC.

The inside is very pretty. It is very clean and modern. There is nice lighting and plenty of seating. It does look a bit out of place from Sunnyside honestly. We got two desserts. The flan and ube donut. The flan was very good and sweet. The ube looked good and filling too. We would love to come back to try more sweets with more friends. The workers were helpful in providing recommendations. This is a great place to stop by with friends to catch up. There is also a bathroom.

I'm kinda super late to the game and to be fair this review is from donuts on their winter menu. If I have to summarize how I feel about Kora-- they're delicious but in my opinions while they are VERY creative with new items each season, the classics really do reign best. The flan donut and ube were amazing (especially the flan but I'm biased). The honorable mention was the pomegranate cheesecake danish which was a crowd favorite. The Manila cream was as it might look a sort of elegant Boston cream.. which I don't like so I want particularly favorable of that one but if you like cream donuts you find yourself right at home. I would recommend Kora to anyone who loves to try new flavors and wants to explore Filipino flavors in a classic dessert we love so much, donuts. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try more flavors like their crullers and savory pastries which I'll be back for for sure! It's not the cheapest bite but standard for this economy today. Aside from the donuts, I didn't really find the pandan matcha all that exciting. Not strong matcha flavor, could sense the pandan but overall it didn't add much to my experience. The aesthetic is cute and inviting inside though I didn't stay in but took the donuts to go. If you have some time and find yourself in sunnyside definitely stop by as the staff and workers are so sweet and kind and truly are bringing quality unique flavors to the dessert world nyc!

Such an amazing spot! Have been dying to come here as I love Asian food and donuts- so this is the perfect spot. Tried 2 donuts and no line which was nice. Space is overall large and was no seating at first but slowly opened up. For donuts- went with ube and flan.. both amazing. Have not tried anything like it and you can taste the quality- really a must try and recommend strongly

On my NYC bakery crawl, this was my 6th and final stop! My second visit to the lovely Kora. I was so excited to grab some pastries and share with friends this time as we flew up for some shows (but mainly to eat, lets be serious here). Kora is just an absolute delight. A bright space with large windows in the front as well as windows to their kitchen, it feels warm and welcoming. They have perfected blending art with flavor and we all get to be the recipients of that. Filipino-inspired, I love these flavors. Being in Nashville, we unfortunately don't have a bakery like this so Kora is a must when I'm in NYC and can make it to Sunnyside. The staff is kind and patient and let's you take your time to choose your pastries. And they are all so beautiful and delicious looking, you will probably need a few moments! It never hurts to look at their instagram to do a little pre-investigation. On this trip, I chose 6 pastries as well as some of their ube and coconut cookies (which are delicious). For pastries I got: cranberry, guava & white chocolate brioche; manila cream fried brioche; ube babka swirl; ube brioche; ensaymada croissant; and salted egg brioche. My recommendation to you? Try everything. You won't be sorry.

Kora, Spring Offering At the Fil-Am owned and Philippine -inspired pastry shop in Sunnyside, Queens --- the flower arrangement's color scheme is reminiscent of ube, pandan, langka and Pinoy kakanin. We came in at 10ish am and by the time we were done tasting five different new donut flavors, around 45 mins later, the line stretched outside. I absolutely loved the new salted egg babka-donut and the calamansi-basil one. While eating our donuts, I watched a visiting Pinoy-Chicago native ravish the new offering at Kora's, a 2-inch thick stack of cheese, meat and thick-cut bacon on brioche, a limited supply breakfast sandwich. He ate with such gusto that I couldn't help asking how it tasted like . He said, "You know the ONE Star Michelin Filipino restaurant in Chicago ... (referring to Kasama, offers ultra-popular breakfast sandwiches, too), this is waaaaay better." I continued watching him and his friend say wow in between mouthfuls of the Kora breakfast sandwich. I definitely, definitely will be back again for this @fromkora . #curious_eater #fromkora

Kora in Sunnyside is an absolute gem! This is hands down one of the best bakeries I've ever been to! This Filipino-inspired spot has elevated pastries to an art form, blending rich, vibrant flavors with incredible technique. I went a little overboard this weekend and ordered a massive haul, but every single item was phenomenal. 5 stars aren't enough! Started with the Manila Cream. It was creamy, dreamy, and perfectly balanced. The Cranberry Guava Chocolate was a tart-sweet explosion that I couldn't stop eating. Both the Chocolate Rival and Sans Chocolate Fried Brioche were next-level: fluffy, fried-to-perfection brioche with that addictive crisp exterior. The Ube items stole the show for me! The Ube Babka Swirl had this gorgeous laminated swirl of rich ube butter, flaky and indulgent. We doubled up on Ube Fried Brioche and Leche Flan Fried Brioche. The ube version was silky and purple perfection, while the leche flan brought that caramelized, custardy magic inside the brioche. Unreal! The Salted Egg Babka delivered savory-sweet umami heaven, and the Blood Orange & Milk Chocolate Danish was bright, citrusy, and chocolatey in the best way. My kids loved the cream filling! Pomegranate Cheesecake Danish offered a fruity, tangy cheesecake filling that was so smooth and tasty on every bite. Don't skip the cookies. They are hefty and packed with flavor. The Caramelized White Chocolate & Banana Cookie was gooey caramel bliss with banana notes. The Ube Coconut Cookie had that classic ube-coconut combo done perfectly. And the FFG (Food for the Goddesses) I'm still thinking about that one; mysterious name, but divine taste! And to wash it all down, I got a hot chocolate called The Kora Chocolate Silk. It was velvety and decadent, like a chocolate lover's dream. They melted dark chocolate and caramelized some marshmallows in it. Very good! Everything was fresh, creative, and executed with so much care. The staff was friendly, the vibe welcoming, and the value is there despite the indulgence. Kora has quickly become a must-visit in Queens whether you're craving ube everything or just want mind-blowing pastries, this place delivers. Highly recommend grabbing a box (or two. or three) and treating yourself. You won't regret it!

It's incredible to watch the evolution of Kora, whose reputation as the Filipino donut pop up whose founders trained at Eleven Madison Park made them the most coveted donut to get during the pandemic. I remember making it off their waitlist because of a chef friend who had the plug, and eating these donuts on a frigid day in a car, because Kora had no storefront yet. Years later, I found myself waiting in a long line during the holiday break, with a slew of many others wanting to get our hands on these amazing pastries. Just as I was about to get to the front of the line, someone came out to announce they had sold out of all donuts, but had cookies, crullers, and drinks left. I was disappointed but determined to leave with something, as I don't find myself in Sunnyside often. I think they really undersold their offerings because the crullers and cookies and croissants were still available aplenty, and not only that, they were absolutely phenomenal at that. I left with a coffee cruller and caramelized white chocolate banana cookie. Maybe there's something about the quality of the butter or the way they brown their butter but the fragrance coming out of the pastries lit up every taste bud I possessed. The coco jam latte, made with brown sugar coconut jam and espresso, was also strong and delicious. No misses here! This spot is worth going out of your way for, and even waiting in a short line for. Every single thing Kim touches is delicious!

We waited for the lines to hype down at this place. About five months later and it was worth it. First time coming here there was a selection of colorful donuts. Starting from the lychee raspberry, Matcha strawberry green tea, Ube loaded (same concept as a Boston crème doughnut), and mango sugar glazed. When experimenting with many donut flavors, we tested which were the popular ones. Traditionally the Ube flavor doughnut flavor won. My next favorite was the lychee raspberry. Seasonally it seems the flavors do change and rotate. But let's not forget the beverages too. The Ube iced coffee and the pandan iced latte, which is one the few places that serves this here. Even on a cold day, the Ube iced coffee is so rich and decadent with a chockful of ube flavoring over the coffee. The line does move fast and the workers do an amazing job. Longest line I've experienced is waiting 10 minutes. The key is getting here early so you can get a chance to grab as many flavors as you can. The donuts are huge, but be warned are expensive. Worth the treat as these donuts are unique.

I specifically drove from Philly to NYC to try their pastries! The staff seemed so kind and friendly, and their drinks and sweet goods were phenomenal and totally worth the hype! Plus, they have a clean and huge bathroom which is unheard of at most NYC bakeries. I had the following: Ube Fried Brioche: The most amazing brioche I have had. The Ube filling was plentiful Leche Flan Ni Lola: So luscious and silky Ube Latte: So pretty and the Purple yam was a delightful combination with Espresso Pandan & Matcha Latte: I could taste the Pandan and Matcha flavors distinctly which usually is not the case. Coco Jam Latte: Thankful that I got this as a last minute decision, there was a sweetness and saltiness to it that made the drink so balanced.

Top: Leche Flan; Guava Cran; Coffee | Bottom: Cheesecake Pomegranate; Ube; Sans Rival

Had the privilege to try their DELISHH seasonal pastries when my Queens friends brought them over! They're filling and quite hefty, in the best way! The uniqueness of flavors and size of the pastries make them worth the price. Everything was honestly good! Special shoutout to the Leche Flan, which was texturally nice with the Brioche dough. The Ube was also pretty good! Don't be overwhelmed by the outlook lol Great to pair these pastries with a bev to balance out all the sweets. I love that Kora rotates their menu with seasonal offerings. Expect about a ~20 min wait due to its popularity. This spot is worth a try!

    Did the location change?

Not sure of any other locations but the one I visited was located on Greenpoint Ave in Sunnyside Queens.

How often do they rotate flavors?

They do some seasonal flavors so I assume every 2-3 months .

Hi, How can we order online if you don't have telephone number written in your website?

You need to approach the owner .

Do they make CHEESE DANISH SPECIFICALLY?

They do ,though I didn't try.

How are Koras cookies? The doughnuts don't ship to California:(

I would recommend them. They are good and unique

Filled donuts are bursting at the seams with custard that tastes like egg yolks, cream, sugar, vanilla and little else. The orange cream cheese donut is generously frosted with, I'd guess, a mixture of cream cheese, marmalade, powdered sugar, and cream. Based on what we've tried, the donuts at Caroline's are old fashioned, unadulterated and excellent. I recently picked up four donuts for the fambly: the aforementioned orange cream cheese, creme brulee, Boston cream, and raspberry glaze donuts. This was in the afternoon around 4 p.m. and all of them were perfectly, wondrously fresh. The person at the counter (the male proprietor, I think) assured me in his charming French accent that they freshly fry donuts several times a day. Creme brulee was the fan favorite with the hard, crisp, sugar shell on top cracking delicately under a knife to reveal a loose, rich, custardy filling. But across the board, donuts were beautifully made (both aesthetic and delicious!), and well frosted / glazed / filled. The raspberry glaze by itself was a touch too sweet for our tastes, but applied with restraint so the overall effect was balanced. We are not in the donut market very often, but have had this place bookmarked ever since my esteemed Yelp colleague, Alan S., reviewed it last year. Now that we've tried these beauties, I think we're going to find many excuses to be back (e.g. for Hannukah sufganiyot, anything round for Lunar New Year, anything fried for Diwali, anything that can support a candle for birthdays, etc...).We really like this place and we suspect you will, too.

I'm talking about an establishment that makes high-quality gourmet treats. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to see this one opening in the neighborhood last year. I have been to Caroline's several times since it opened its doors to the public. I've tried a few of their items, including the glazed twist, Boston creme, coffee donut, and strawberry filled. The glaze twist is one of my favorites. It's wonderfully sweet while not cloying, and I especially enjoy topping it with the Bon Mama berry jam I have at home. The Boston creme is truly made with love. It's sufficiently stuffed with creme and topped with a thick layer of chocolate ganache - the expensive stuff! The coffee donut is also delicious. Of everything I've tried, the strawberry filled was my favorite. You can tell their strawberry compote is homemade and not too sweet. The dough is light and fluffy and generously coated with granulated sugar. What a treat!

Let me make this very clear though: I have been a loyal stan of Dough since they opened. Loyal. I used to trek all the way to the West Side just to get my hands on these donuts, okay? So the fact that there are locations closer to the Upper East Side now? Blessings. I put everybody onto Dough. Everybody. And one of the reasons I love them so much is because they offer vegan donuts, which is right in line with how I had to switch up my diet. And let me tell you -- they are not an afterthought. The vegan options are GOOD good. Some of my forever favorites? The Café au Lait. The Dulce de Leche. The vegan glaze. The vegan sugar. The Margarita donut? Amazing. Piña Colada? Amazing. Hibiscus? One of my top-tier favorites. Honestly, I don't think I have a non-favorite. Some just sit higher on the pedestal than others. Now let's talk about the service because that's really what stood out that day. The young man at the cashier -- I hate that I didn't grab his name because y'all know I usually do -- was so joyful. Great conversation, bubbly personality, just good energy. And listen... there is so much stuff going on in the world. You walk outside and it's heavy. So when you walk into a place and someone is genuinely pleasant? It matters. He was attentive. He was engaging. Every single person that walked in left smiling. That kind of energy isn't fake -- you can feel when it's real. The store was extremely clean (y'all know that's important to me). We didn't get there at peak selection time, so a lot of donuts were already sold out -- which, honestly, says something. But we still walked out with a few of my favorites, and every single one hit. The space itself is nice. Not huge, but you can definitely sit off to the side and enjoy your donut and coffee if you want. But truly? It was about the service for me that day. And yes, this is another January review posted in February because life has been life-ing -- between my son's birthday and everything else, I've been moving nonstop. But we really needed a smiling face that day, and he delivered that. I love Dough. Fresh donuts, tons of choices, vegan options done right, good coffee, good vibes. If you haven't tried Dough yet, go. There's a Flatiron location, one by Rockefeller Center, and one on the Upper East Side (though I think one location may have recently closed, so double-check before heading out). Highly recommend. Always.

It's a simple classic cookie that's crispy on the edges and chewy in the center without being undercooked or gooey. The combination of the bitter Valhrona dark chocolate and sweeter milk chocolate chips balanced out the cookie very well. The rainbow cookies were not great - they were just wannabe rainbow cookies. You can't just call a cookie a rainbow cookie because it looks like one. Some things should remain traditional, this is one of them. Traditional rainbow cookies are made with almond paste, jam, and chocolate. There is no almond paste in this cookie which completely threw off the texture. There is a layer of marzipan in these cookies which in my opinion destroyed the balance of the cookie - far too sweet and oddly textured. The cake layer is just regular cake with food coloring instead of the soft/ moist almond frangipane-like cake. The cookies were beautiful, but were very disappointing. Super cool how Angelina opened a bakery near Lenox Hill Hospital serving a variety of baked goods,…read moreand I think where they really shine is their tiny little pastries and cookies that you can get individually and pay less but get a greater variety. It's the perfect place to get a small bite. They also have lunch sandwiches that are on the smaller side and cheaper and it's the perfect light lunch; I'm a fan of their chicken one. Huge fan of their presence and think they definitely have a lasting place in the neighborhood. The mini croissants are nice and crisp on the outside, the donuts are maybe my least favorite thing, but their little italian cookies are also really solid and the perfect small bite. They also have coffee slush, at least during the summer.

We were going in to the MET for a tour and only had time for something quick. Angelina was the perfect stop except I've been spoiled with the other two locations I've tried that are much larger, appealing and has more variety. This was a pretty hole in the wall location (in comparison to the others) and I wasn't super obsessed with the quality of the doing (again, in comparison to what I already know of Angelina). I'm not sure if they bake everything in house but it does feel more like they get smaller batches of things maybe frozen and then stick them in the oven and fill them. It doesn't taste the freshest, the croissant dough isn't as pillowy, crispy on the outside and full of layers and flakes that I'm regularly used to. I'm always happy eating anything with nutella so that was still a win, wish it was more in line with the regular Angelina experience. Also, they don't have the same amount of things and as extensive of a menu, so just know before you go :) No bathrooms either it seems like!

Prepared for I'm donut to be just hype, I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious these donuts…read morewere! The brioche-like donut comes either filled with cream or alone in flavors like their original, matcha, or chocolate. They have some NY-only options like the PBJ, caramel espresso, and even an anchovy donut... and some interesting savory options like a donut hamburger. ** Original (5/5): it looked like a traditional jelly donut, and the inside is not only fluffy but also moist and slightly dense (some may describe as slightly undercooked?). The outside coating of layer made it nice and sweet. Super tasty and light! ** PBJ (5/5): this one tastes decadent with the sweet peanut butter cream and sweet fruit jelly. Harder to appreciate the uniqueness and fluffy moist interior of their donuts but definitely super delish! I would definitely recommend getting at least one of their unfilled donuts to see how unique and tasty their donuts are! And loved the PBJ filling, can't wait to try their matcha and espresso ones-- om nom nom~~ Their ordering system seems a little redundant (mark choices on paper, have someone come talk to you to confirm, give the paper to the cashier who then confirms it with you again before the order is prepared), but since the line was short, it was fine. Can't imagine how long it would take with a long line! The staff were all very nice and friendly though :) Inside is simple, bright, and clean. There's some merch on the wall and otherwise no tables or seats, so plan to take your donuts to go! If you're in the theater district or near Times Square, I'd recommend stopping by!

Cool donut spot in the heart of the theater district! We popped by for a few donuts before a show,…read moreand fortunately there was no line at around 7pm. The donut varieties were really interesting, spanning a bunch of sweet and savory options, from strawberry to scrambled eggs (yes, really). We kept it simple with some of the classics - an original, and a strawberry. Both were good, the donuts were light and fluffy, not super dense. The strawberry flavor was good, a bit sugary for me but still did the trick. I'd come back to try some of their more interesting flavors on my next visit!
