Krispy Kreme on Lexington is always well stocked and has fast friendly service. It has to be fast because they don't have much space for customers to wait. I'm not a fan of Krispy Kreme Donuts but a couple flavors sounded delicious today for Independence Day. My Coach Gary told me if you wear red white and blue today you get a free donut. I was wearing the colors when he told me so I thought I'd go get one. I definitely wasn't going to eat it but I did make a homeless man very happy. He was very appreciative when I gave it to him. This location is a grab and go place. You can only really fit two people in here at a time. Yes it is that small!! The workers here are usually nice. The donuts are good but I have had better. But this location is great as it is near bus stops and subway stations. Great place to get a morning coffee and donut. They also have special days where you can get free donut or two. I remember when the only Krispy Kreme in the city was a stall in the Amtrak concourse at Penn Station. Now there are locations all over the city and new locations are still opening like wildfire. I had their Dutch Apple Pie and Pecan Pie donuts yesterday. My overall impression of the 2 donuts was "meh". The Pecan Pie was the better of the 2. The filling of the Dutch Apple Pie donut had a strong artificial aftertaste. Aside from the donuts being just meh, the venue was the size of a shoebox. There was a line of customers outside waiting to enter to order upon arrival. Mostly schoolkids. The staff working here were mostly teenagers. Being that this location recently opened, there were small kinks that needed to be worked out. For starters, the ordering-and-paying process. One employee was working the register and another was grabbing the donuts from the trays upon taking customer's orders. In this process, orders were getting mixed up and customers had to shuffle out of their orders in the narrow store to pay while some were still ordering. Wouldn't it be more efficient for the same employee to grab the donuts AND accept payment at the register instead of handing the order off to another employee? This way, the employee that took your order knows exactly what you ordered and charge you accordingly for it. I was asked several times what I ordered by different employees before I was charged. They even opened my bag of donuts several times to confirm my order. After my receipt finished printing, the employee hastened to crumple it up AND THEN ask me if I'd like my receipt or not. I wanted it at first, but after she crumpled it up THE SECOND it finished printing, guess not? Dunkin may have watered-down coffee, but their donuts are better than KK's. I'll patronize them the next time I'm craving chain-restaurant donuts instead. read more

I've always found the donuts to be fresh and the staff to be consistently very nice at this location. Definitely can't say the same for most comparable donut places in the neighborhood. I don't normally write reviews but yesterday, this location generously donated to a local public school fundraising event. Since they went out of the way to support our community, I want to support them too (and hope others will follow my lead and support this Krispy Kreme!). Very chaotic Krispy Kreme. It should in fact, just be a window shoppe because it's so damn small and the flow of customers does not work well. The staff there is great, cheerful and funny, Work as quick as they can, but damn this location is a hot mess. They need to be more strict about it. The donuts are made uptown and brought downtown. 3/10/22, around 1 pm. Upper east side branch, 1276 Lexington ave. NY. As I come in, the staff named "Aubrey" looked disgusted already when I was choosing the donuts, I asked politely to have 4 mini donuts, mentioning pink & green (meaning the color of the sprinkles), then he/she screamed asking "Green? Since when we had green?!" then laughed towards his co worker. As he grabbed the donuts w/o care tossed to a small paper bag, I asked nicely if it's possible to put in in a small box (so that it will be presentable as my 1st treat to my kids from my new job since I had them). He said that we can't put minis in a box, I asked if I can for my kids. She dumped all minis inside the box, ruining the icing of the donuts. Then he yelled at me: "how many more are you gonna buy?" rolling his eyes and putting his hands on his waist! I ordered additional 4 regular donuts also tossed the other donuts in the box w/o care. He continued to belittle me saying: "We are doing you a favor, we don't put those donuts in a box, we will have to charge you!" I felt so bad being treated like that, I just wanted to bring home their favorite donuts in good shape that's why I asked to be placed in a box, since they were recovering from sickness. As I checked out to another staff, Raymond and said thank you. Ashley could've said nicely that he/she will have to charge for the box, which I will comply. The level of rudeness was unimaginable and how he belittled me just because of I am a small asian lady in a big city.
