I was walking thru the trails also on a beautiful fall afternoon last month with the fall foliage in full effect. It was a beautiful sight with yellow and orange shades along with greenery that was coming toward the end of season. It was a very refreshing walk as I was making my way to a nearby sushi restaurant. The breeze was a little cooler and the temperature was around 60 degrees. A beautiful autumn day.

They have a playground (with bathrooms in the back) and the trail goes down a paved steep decline that then leads into the boardwalk path way. It is not the most stroller friendly mainly because you are dodging a TON of swan and geese poop the whole time. And it can be bumpy on some parts. But the whole pathway is pretty unique with bridges connecting it (at least 5 bridges) and there is one lookout spot you can go to. We went on a beautiful sunny and windy day and loved it!! Saw so many birds (I have never seen so many swans together before) and nests!! Lots of people fish here too. What a gem! Definitely coming back!

There are several spots with picnic tables and benches throughout the trail as well as workout equipment in different spots throughout the trails. My son had so much fun running around, climbing and jumping. So many different ways to play and ways to explore. They have two play areas separated by age groups - little kids and big kids. There were covered pavilions with picnic tables that will be suitable for small parties. On walking distance there were restrooms and a water fountain. Also there is a fun splash pad located close by that is open during summer. Good parking space and in the evenings we saw ice-cream truck coming to the park.

The actual splash/water part is usually pretty clean and well maintained. What makes it great for us is that the water area is totally wheelchair accessible. There is one weird patch of grass we have to cross over to get to the water. It's weird they didn't lay concrete right up to the water area, but that is just a minor inconvenience. All in all a fun spot to spend a hot day.

I've also been questioned while hanging out in my hammock by the trees because it was assumed I'm a vagrant who wanted to camp out. Nope, just wanted to relax and read a book, not really a weird concept. That being said, this is a very nice, quiet, and enjoyable park. The walking/biking path is excellent and nicely shaded due to all the old growth trees. The playground, splash pad, restrooms, and baseball/soccer fields appear to be well taken care of and I've never felt unsafe while running through. I'd give it five stars if Dearborn didn't get all rude and uptight about the way they run their parks.
