The playground is huge and looks like so much fun for children. There's also a gated waterpark right next to the play ground called H20 Spray park. Not sure when it opens to the public but I believe you do have to pay to enter. As you walk further down, you'll see a concession stand and another building with outside seating along with a hanging sign that says Westand Lions Club. And There's a pond area with a fountain in the middle. Lastly, there's a soccer field with a 2 lane track going around it - 1 lap is 0.5mi. After exploring the area, I went around the track a few times. I had a Very nice time.

Hines Drive runs through the center of the park and is wide enough to accomodate bikes. Some sections get a little tight, but you can steer back onto the asphalt path if you are on the right lane. Generally, heading west towards Ann Arbor has less traffic. At one point, a group of my friends took the trail onto connecting paths all the way to Ann Arbor. Aside from biking, the park has something for everyone. If you choose to drive, some areas have a parking alongside playgrounds, softball fields, golfing, gardens, and picnic area. Hines Park is the the great connector for numerous smaller parks. As with much of Michigan, the roads could be better maintained, but this green oasis is a gift to the greater Detroit metro area.

It was a beautiful sight with yellow and orange shades along with greenery that was coming toward the end of season. It was a very refreshing walk as I was making my way to a nearby sushi restaurant. The breeze was a little cooler and the temperature was around 60 degrees. A beautiful autumn day.

There are always festivals in downtown Plymouth every season that run through Kellogg Park. There is the Ice Festival, Holiday Market, Michigan's 2nd largest art fair called Art in the Park, the Plymouth Fall Festival, Spring Artisan Market, and many more events. Plymouth outbeats other upscale suburban metro Detroit cities for fun activities due to the sheer number of festivals happening year-round in and around Kellogg Park and downtown. As much as I love the festivals and markets, Kellogg Park is very small and surrounded by parking and traffic. It's the kind of park for a stroll, not a place where you can do more than that for exercise, which is unfortunate. It would be nice to have more walking paths and exercise areas in Plymouth, but it's too small as it is.

There's a splash pad, a pavilion, picnic tables and across the parking lot, a play ground. While I've only been there on weekday mornings, there hasn't been a big crowd, but it isn't deserted either. It was easy to follow my toddler daughter around the brick paved walkways and still not be far from the food and conversation with our group. I also saw a woman setting up for a child's birthday party there one day. I think that was a great idea! There are several different activities for the kids, and a nice central area for everyone to meet up.

Wasn't crowded at all just a couple hours before sunset. Enjoyed my walk on this trail while visiting metro Detroit. I absolutely recommend and plan to visit again.

Garden City Park is located on the northeast corner of Merriman Rd and Cherry Hill just behind the…read moreGarden City Post Office. There are entrances to the park on Merriman Rd or Cherry Hill. The park is open daily until 10pm. There are many amenities including a civic ice arena, playscapes, picnic tables, covered pavilions and baseball diamonds complete with bleachers and lights for night games. My favorite feature is the 1.2 mile asphalt walking path that circles through the park and accommodates bikers/skaters in one direction and walkers/runners in the other. The only drawback is the squirrels who people have fed over the years to the point now where they walk right up to you asking for food. There are always people in the park but it's never too crowded. It is well kept and even has bags conveniently located for dog owners to use to clean up after their pets. If you live in the Garden City, Wayne, Westland, Inkster or Dearborn Heights area and enjoy outdoor recreation then this park should be on your list.

I have seen this trail in passing on bike on the western end of Hines Park, and decided to take a…read morehike today. It looks promising but a work in progress. You easily bypass the parking area with the signage Ellsworth/ Holliday, so if you see the adjoining field, park at Nankin and take the footbridge. It runs along a canal so bug spray recommended. I took it for the Yelp team with a few drops of blood when taking a few photos. The boardwalk and markers look new. However, after a few minutes it abruptly ends. You follow a dirt path into the back of houses, and I did not notice anymore markers and decided to turn around.
