I think i did eventually maybe end up passing a lot while exploring the trail, but I ended up just parking near the circle, which felt weird and had me anxious the neighbors would call and get my car towed. Other than that it's just getting out of winter so there's not much growth to see, but it's nice to get out even with the mud. Hopefully someone else's GPS will route them somewhere, or they just won't have the anxiety I did parking and driving through a neighborhood with kids playing around feeling like a creep LOL!

I have only biked this park. The best feature is the extensive size of this park. There is a…read morededicated pedestrian/biking path on one side of the park. Hines Drive runs through the center of the park and is wide enough to accomodate bikes. Some sections get a little tight, but you can steer back onto the asphalt path if you are on the right lane. Generally, heading west towards Ann Arbor has less traffic. At one point, a group of my friends took the trail onto connecting paths all the way to Ann Arbor. Aside from biking, the park has something for everyone. If you choose to drive, some areas have a parking alongside playgrounds, softball fields, golfing, gardens, and picnic area. Hines Park is the the great connector for numerous smaller parks. As with much of Michigan, the roads could be better maintained, but this green oasis is a gift to the greater Detroit metro area.

Heritage Park was the perfect spot for one of our homeschooling field trips! As soon as we've…read morearrived we were greeted by turkeys. Admission is free, and there are so many great learning materials for parents who love teaching their kids hands-on. We spent most of our time at the nature center, where the kids got to see a rabbit(you can pet it),turtles, birds, snakes, fish, rats, and more. They even have a bee hive on display, which was a huge hit. This place is ideal for kids! The staff is extremely friendly. They even allow you to touch some of the animals. There's so much to see and learn. After exploring the nature center, we headed to the playground, and they also have trails if you want to get some fresh air and walking in. My three kids had an amazing time, and we didn't have to spend a dime to make it happen. Highly recommend for families, schools, and homeschoolers alike!

Only goes on the one side is all. There's a path on the side but it doesn't go around is all. The path is covered with small rocks, not so friendly to the thin sole flats. The unpaved trail is wide, clear, and flat, so it's easy for walking and jogging. Depending on the weather/rain, the trails can get muddy and flooded. Playground equipment for kids, and two separate areas based on age range. One area is designated for kids ages 2-5, and the other area is for ages 5-12. Plenty of picnic tables and easy parking. Open daily from dawn until dusk.

Lovely scenic wetland nature preserve which few seem to know about. I love coming here to feed the…read moreducks and enjoy the serene tranquility. What I love is the forced civic responsibility as the surrounding corporates were obligated to preserve this center as a condition of land development opportunities. Some interesting birds to behold for birdwatching fans. Intermittent benches to sit on and a gazebo part of the way through. Walkway a bit sprayed with bird droppings but its understandable. The walkway and gazebo seem to be falling into a touch of disrepair and becoming a bit uneven structurally, but it's more an aesthetic issue than safety issue.
