Ordered the Shrimp Egg Foo Young (two patties) lunch special which included "basic" egg,…read morebeansprout and green onion fried rice and one egg roll. I wanted rich but simple straightforward flavors for lunch and I got it. The egg foo young was not greasy or over-fried, had plenty of medium sized shrimp beansprouts and green onions. The rice was very good, each grain of rice was separate and lightly glazed in soy, had a slight smokey flavor from what i assume was a high heat wok. Simple ingredients and dishes but very complex umami rich flavors in the egg foo young and rice and both dishes had been perfectly cooked. Egg roll was basic and lacking enough filling in my opinion but still crispy and tasty. For $14 including tax and credit card service charge it was a good price.

The portion sizes, the flavors, the drinks(!) = all top notch! It's so unfortunate that I moved away or else I would be here significantly more often now. I had the Coco Loco drink and it blew my socks off. It was so refreshing and felt like I needed it on a beach. It tasted like a stronger Pina Colada. The drinks are $15 but I think they could potentially be worth it because of the amount of quality/size you get. Actually, the price of all the dishes were a bit much but you will definitely have leftovers for the next day. Good vibes. Thank you Chef Shangri-La, I'll be seeing you soon! Personal Review: 8.9/10

What happened to Famous Dave's?…read more This used to be a go-to spot for my family years ago, so my wife and I decided to go back for some barbecue. Huge mistake. I can now see why Yelp Rating is so poor for them! I ordered the Ribs & Ribs combo..., half slab St. Louis-style and half slab baby backs for $32. When the food came out, the ribs were cold..., not just "sat too long" warm, but borderline refrigerated. On top of that, they were so tough I could barely pull them apart. I would have needed a steak knife just to separate the bones. Completely unacceptable for a BBQ place. I politely called the server over and explained the ribs were cold and tough. His response? "So you don't want them?" Before I could even finish answering, he grabbed the tray and said he'd take it off the bill..., and just walked away. No apology. No offer to remake the dish. No manager. Nothing. After that, we were basically ignored until I had to flag him down just to get the check. Here's what really stood out: on the receipt, there's actually a line item labeled "Recovery Dislike." That got me thinking..., how often does this happen that they've built it into their system? It didn't feel like an exception. It felt routine. No apology for the food. No accountability for the service. Just a quiet removal from the bill and move on. It's honestly disappointing to see how far this place has fallen. We won't be coming back.

LOVIN', TOUCHIN', DIPPIN'…read more Wingstop knows the best countermeasure for a spicy bomb is a bucket of blue cheese dressing. Back when I used to work in Melrose Park, I'd frequent a Wingstop on North Ave. There, the quality of food was hit-and-miss, but that's not the case here on Archer Ave. The guys at this location mean business, cranking our orders way faster than the "16-21 minute" time frame assigned to the online order confirmation. My lunch has been made in 5 minutes flat. The chicken tender lunch combo ($6.50) is a solid deal: 3 juicy tenders in choice of sauce, regular size fry, and 20oz drink. Tenders were made fresh and fully coated in one of their limited-time sauces, sweet BBQ blaze. They have 70¢ boneless wings on Monday and Tuesday. Wingstop's cheese fries are amazing; they really slather on the cheese sauce which, for only 50¢ more, turns out to be a great value. You'll most likely want a tub of ranch or blue cheese ($1.50) to dip your chicken in. Cajun fried corn (5pc for $4.50) is another option. I've always believed that Wingstop's mango habanero is more tolerable than Buffalo Wild Wings' flavor of the same name. Whereas B-dubs really leans into the 'habanero' side of things, at Wingstop they're much more aligned with 'mango', so the result is more enjoyably sweet than unbearable heat, which I like. They have 12 sauces to pick from, including the OG lemon pepper, garlic parm, Hawaiian, Louisiana rub, spicy Korean BBQ, hot honey rub, classic buffalo, Cajun, and "atomic". I'd steer clear of that last one, unless you're accustomed to insanely spicy things and/or spending time feverishly moaning on the can. * TL;DR * I've come to realize that my past prejudice towards Wingstop is mostly unfounded--I've sung B-dubs' praises for so long I considered Wingstop to be the naturally inferior sibling. Well, this Wingstop in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood has me rethinking which team has the true MVT (most valuable tender). Their fries are way better than their closest competitor, with way better deals, too. By comparison, a "value bundle" of 6 boneless wings + fries at Buffalo Wild Wings is $9, and that doesn't include a drink. Defo coming back here for lunch and carryout orders.

It was light at night. I had a bad day, so I ordered myself some wings from here…read more I can't even describe how much joy it brought to my soul to open my bag and see all the food staring back at me. I am seriously praying for the success and happiness of whoever made this masterpiece of an order. This wingstop doesn't just serve meals - they serve feasts, and they do it with generosity like l've never seen before. It's an experience l'll never forget.
