This place was recommended to me by someone (Emily) who's had multiple piercings done there (Emily) who's name (Emily) I won't mention. I made an appointment and was told I had to wear a mask, couldn't bring anyone with me, and to call when I got there and someone would come out and get me. I practiced a secret knock Tony Saprano would have been proud of, only to get there and a sign on the door said don't knock. I was disappointed. The process was smooth. I picked out my jewelry, paid, and waited while they sterilized it. Kyle, my piercer, was nice, patient, and understanding. He explained the process, answered my questions and concerns... then he stabbed me in the nose (I guess better than the back!) It hurt like hell! I wanted to cry; he never even flinched. He then tried to make up for it by putting the jewelry I paid for in the wound (what kind of bipolar mcgyver BS was that?) To make matters worse, the narcissists gave me a mirror and asked me if I liked what he'd done?! WT... It was perfect! I loved it. It was tender for one day and I've had no issues with the piercing (I mean injury.) I must say that Kyle is the nicest person to ever stab me in the face. He walked me out, thanked me(?) and told me to call if I had any questions or concerns. One of the female gang members walked me to the locked door to release me. She asked to see my injury, and approved of what Kyle had done (gang loyalty is real.) Then the sadomasochist asked me if I liked it? I wanted to stab her in the face and ask her...I said yes (I really like it!) They're a strange yet friendly and competent bunch of folks there. THE BEST PLACE EVER PLEASE COME HERE. I had a horrible experience with Rowan piercing where the lady embedded the earring into my ear. They told me to go to urgent care but I came to kolo instead. They gave me options if I wanted to let my ear heal or save it. I chose to try and save the piercing. GIGI was amazing. She talked me through everything. Was honest and told me everything I should have and should be doing with my ear. Thanks to kolo my ear is completely healed and they saved my piercing!! I am a repeat customer of this joint and really love the vibe it has in little 5 points. The jewelry they have on display is fantastic and the options for starter pieces is pretty good if you're willing to fork over the cash for it. I've gotten 4 lobe, my conch and a surface tragus piercing. I had all of mine done with Kyle who is very meticulous and made sure my lobes were even on each side. Loved that. My surface tragus was done very well. He used the 90 degree anchor which has the least chance of migration and rejection. Yay. And my conch. Nothing special to report there. I've had to return for 3 concerns. One of my gems had fallen off my surface tragus because it wasn't screwed in tight enough. Had to pay $5 but they fixed that. Second, my conch ripped through my ear. $5 put it back in. Third, my surface tragus was beginning to reject so I asked them to remove it. I've been to other piercing studios that don't charge anything if it's a concern that's easily rectified. I am an avid tipper and you pay for parking to go to this place so just FYI if you've got your jewelry you're paying $5 to park $5 to have a little fix and then a tip a good $5. You're looking at $15 for a problem that may not have been your fault (mainly my first concern). But that's just FYI and my opinion. Love this place and will keep going. Absolutely not. Really weird vibe and energy from the two ladies that were behind the counter. Went in with my wife and we were immediately greeted very nicely. No complaints there. We waited like twenty minutes (it was not busy at all) for the young lady to ask me what I was looking for. I told her what I needed and she quickly brushed it to the side saying " we don't have many". And very much left it there. Mind you... there are cases of jewelry all over the store. I said " May I see what you have" she tells me "one minute". She proceeds to turn around and say to the other lady " he wants said item". I guess she made a face it said something because the lady says to her " it's okay, it's going to be alright" and turn and look at us. They continue to do whatever they were doing and my wife and I were invisible again. We waited a few more minutes. Still no service. We walked out. Don't even bother. read more

I had looked at a few other places online, but I was already going to be in the Little 5 Points area that day, so I decided to stop in. Going to Kolo was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I was SUPER nervous about getting the piercing done, or even going up to the counter and asking for it. But as soon as I spoke to Kyle behind the counter, I knew I'd go through with it and have a great experience. I picked my jewelry (what Kolo is known for other than their immensely experienced piercers) and Kyle explained the sterilization procedure to me, copied my ID, and went over aftercare and healing. After that, the wait was about 25 minutes. Not bad at all for a walk-in. I cannot praise Kyle enough! He was very calm and gentle with me, and he even let my friend come back with me and hold my hand. Kyle explained every thing he was doing and instructed my breathing. He said he was the least experienced piercer there, and he had been doing it for 19 years! It turned out great, and I have never been so happy with a piercing. They're pretty great! I got a new nostril ring and my skin reacted badly; I came to kolo for better options and they're advised me to go back to my stud until it was better! My only complaint is if I have to call to make the appt, call at the door, and do all the Covid protocols, then see ppl at their schedule time. It was a very nice piercing shop with beautiful displays and a great selection of jewelry options. I went on a Saturday night and it took 45 minutes to an hour for me and my 3 friends to get piercings. I did my nose which ended up being about $52 total, which I felt was a very reasonable price. Kyle was my piercer and he was very friendly and funny and he walked me through what he was doing while sterilizing my nose. It was super quick and didn't hurt much. I've read other reviews here saying the customer service was terrible but fortunately my experience here was very good and the workers were pretty nice. So service was great last September, i Wanted new rose Gold jewelry for my nose piercing and septum piercing. I spent about $450 on both of them and yesterday I scratched my nose and my septum piercing apparently snapped and flung out of my nose. I have been coming to Kolo since my friends introduced me to this shop 10 years ago. Gigi is probably the kindest, most professional piercer I have gone to. I've strayed to other shops, but I almost always end up coming back here (mostly to replace the piercing another shop did). My most recent piercing I got was my tragus redone. I was able to look at an extensive selection of jewelry and customize a size to my liking. I feel like you pay for quality, although to be honest, I think their diamond and gold selection is a bit over priced. I picked a stud to get pierced with, after having a bad experience with a captive ring somewhere else. Gigi was so gentle, and she distracted me while she did it, so I didn't feel the pain too much. Adam, the bald guy up front, can be a little intimidating, but he's not mean or anything. They did an excellent job on my rook and all of my lobe piercings. A day ago, one of my nipple piercings' ball-bearing came un-screwed. I called Kolo and set up an appointment the following day. Leah fit me in with no problem, although they were busy as heck as always. I decided to switch out both nipple piercings with rings/loops and move up from 14 gauges to 12 gauges. Kyle made it so effortlessly and did an phenomenal job in switching both piercings out. I'll definitely be back to shop and for any additional piercings. This was my second time at Kolo and I can't speak on it enough how much I love this place! Back in October 2019 I got my nose pierced. Adam at the front helped me pick out jewelry and walked me through cleaning and caretaking of my new piercing. Everything was handled so efficiently. This woman, whose name I don't recall, pierced me and she was really friendly and kind. Today, Kyle pierced my nips and I just adore him! I was nervous and he talked me through the steps. Coming from out of town and needed some emergency jewelry for my industrial. Found these guys on Yelp and called to make an appointment due to covid. The place is clean and only one person allowed at a time. I came in and right off the bat, the guy up front is super pretentious and talking smack about the customers. The piece ran about 35 dollars for JUST jewelry, no piercing, basic steel. I asked about nipple piercings, they told me it would cost $70 for ONE. . I came across Kolo when looking for a well reviewed piercing shop to get a forward helix done- I've made the mistake of trust a small mall jewelry retailer that pierces with a gun when a needle should have been used and had a hell of a time trying to get my piercings to heal. This little spot is over in Little 5 Points and has a great collection of jewelry for piercings or gauges with reasonable pricing. The atmosphere is eclectic, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I was even allowed to bring a friend with me to the back room when getting my piercing done (because I'm a little bit of a scaredy cat like that). The place was spotless, very sterile and clean. I was walked through every step of the process and observed all the tools used being pulled from sterile packaging. The instructions for cleaning and healing were very detailed and helpful. For a forward helix the heal time is estimated to 6 months, which I'd say is accurate. I had no issues with the healing or cleaning process and will definitely be going back to Kolo for additional piercings and for changing out earrings. I will suggest making an appointment. I walked in on a Friday early afternoon and had about an hour wait for my timeslot due to only 1 staff member onsite performing the piercings. However, if you want a piercing done right, and sterile, the wait time is worth it. read more

They have an extensive selection of jewelry from which to choose. My wait was about 30 minutes on a Monday afternoon. If you have the flexibility, I would suggest trying to go during the week. Weekend waits can be multiple hours- because they are so good. Once taken back to the piercing room, I was thrilled to see the cleanliness of the space. I have had my nose pierced since 2012 but my septum kept getting irritated from the L-shape of the nose ring. I went to Kolo about a year ago and replaced with a gold hoop. I was very well taken care of by the lovely GiGi. She was professional yet patient and spoke to me through the entire process. I went there again 2 days ago for a flat-back stud, so I wouldn't "touch" my nose as often. Luckily, there was wonderful GiGi again with her beautiful Jade earrings and awesome personality, ready to assist. I had no appointment, but they were still kind enough to accommodate me. I even ended up purchasing nose hoops that I now wear as toe rings...LOL. Excellent staff. A must go if your in ATL and in need of piercing! I'd had my nose pierced twice previously - once for my 30th birthday and again at age 41. Both times the holes didn't heal properly and remained irritated until I removed them. I had no reason to believe it would be different now that I'm in my 50s, but my sister had a great experience, so we made it a family outing. My mom and I got nose piercings, and my sister and daughter got additional ear piercings. The instructions I received at Kolo for care were simple but effective. The woman who pierced my nose was great - I felt an initial pinch and that was it. No bleeding, and no pain at all afterwards! It's two weeks later and I fully expect to heal perfectly. I went to this cool shop near little five Points and the staff was extremely friendly and nice. Clean facility. Everyone wore a mask. Which was great. I came in around January 2021 for a few piercings and decided to just go with my nipple piercings. Kyle was polite and gentle. Made me feel comfortable and did my piercings quickly. The piercings were painful as ever I must admit. (Which is ok) It is a piercing. His method for my nipple piercings was different. I layed back on a table. (Which was ok) When he was done he handed me a mirror to check them out. And when I looked down they appeared to be crooked.... I assumed that my nipples were a bit swollen from the painful procedure but with months and much care they are actually not straight at all. Which blows my mind... it can't be fixed. My bar bells are not straight -they are both crooked which is disappointing. Almost as if he pierced my nipples way too close to my breasts. This was not my first piercing so I was a little shocked on Kyle's method of piercing my nipples. I now have to live with this but had to say something. Luckily my breasts are beautiful even with the crooked piercings. Crooked indeed. I wanted to return here for more piercings but now I'm afraid to go back to this location :( read more

Sometime last year, I got my nose pierced at a dope upscale piercing studio in Denver,Colorado. I was in love with my new addition! Fast forward to me being in Georgia with my family, I woke up with my nose ring missing . Fortunately I found Kolo on yelp, and even though it wasn't my first choice. I'm glad this is where I went and honestly, I shouldn't have been going anywhere else!! I wasn't a big fan of the front desk guy. His energy was too drab to be in a customer oriented service.
