The parking lot small only because they share it within DQ and a book store including the drive thru. Husband suggested we go, I was nervous because they haven't had the best reputation. Thank goodness for Yelpers. Pros: Walking in we were greeted and got to seat ourselves. We ordered the spider roll to start and me a hot green tea and husband a coke. We also placed our order of a unagi bowl with brown rice and a salmon bowl white rice. Our server was good as was the food overall. Spider roll was very good albeit very small. My salmon was cooked perfectly and his unagi was well cooked and flavorful. Cons: My tea was lukewarm and my husband's coke came out flat. Luckily one of the waitresses gave him a bottle coke with an ice glass. When the spider roll came, yes I was disappointed. This thing was no bigger than my hands. And for $5, I would have expected something umm....bigger. the cabbage with my salmon bowl was soggy and uneatable. Recommended? Eh maybe. I mean, really. If they offer drive-thru ramen, it HAS to be that 25 cent stuff you buy in WalMart, right? Wrong. I ordered the miso ramen, the spicy tuna roll, and the California roll. The good? The ramen. Very flavorful broth, tender pieces of pork, a compliment of vegetables, and a generous amount of noodles hit all the high points of the ramen spots that I would frequent in Hawaii. The not-so-good? The sushi. Granted, I am a sushi snob, so take this with a grain of salt, but neither the grade of the tuna, nor the imitation crab really did it for me. So I've eaten at the Kokoro in Arvada before and LOVED their spicy chicken splash. This location has had a ton of counter space owing to its roots as a comfort food mom and pop store. More's the better as I was able to speak at length with the wonderful servers Wei Wei and Yulia. I was only stopping by for a little bit to grab some tea (I'm a Californian and boy does it get cold in Denver) and a dessert (the green tea cheesecake is pretty awesome and is gluten free: it's small, fluffy, light, and has a perfect blend of sour and sweet, doesn't have too much whipped cream, though being gluten free it doesn't have a crust if you were expecting it). Get the Kokoro bowl with extra teriyaki sauce. Careful of their iced tea, it will light you up (super string so mix half with water). The reason I gave them 2 stars is primarily for the spider roll. If you can't do sushi well, you shouldn't do it. Something inside the roll was quite grainy (and not the rice), and left an unsatisfied feeling. I am very frustrated and disappointed with Kokoro. I decided to try it and ordered some soup about a month ago. On my way home it became apparent that the lid to the soup was not on tightly when it all came pouring out, all over my car and the rest of the order. My order was ruined and it took several hours of cleaning to bring my car back to the condition it was before as I have a light colored interior. I figured it was an honest mistake and decided to try them again. I placed my order and want to pick it up several minutes later. The restaurant was CLOSED and I was not notified (and when I checked online it said they were open). Very frustrating to drive all the way there and find the restaurant closed. I've been going to Kokoro since I was 9 years old and I love it today as much as I loved it back then. I always get the Chicken Bowl with the Gyozas -- the perfect combo. My dad swears by the Spicy Chicken Splash. Definitely sign up for the Aragato Card, it's a great deal. It's pretty well priced and the service is really quick and friendly. I prefer to not take it to go because I think it tastes the best when it fresh served to you while you're in the restaurant (just a personal preference). This place is sacred to me, the staff are an amazing group of folks, the food is solid and fresh, the place is nice and cozy, and service is super fast (as in I can't even finish a carafe of sake before my food is placed in front of me.) The heaping bowls of ramen are good and comforting (both shoyu and miso, miso being my favorite) I like to order an extra shoyu egg and a side of stewed white onions in beef broth for more goodness-plus I'm an onion freak, and top the whole steamy bowl off with a few shakes of togarashi. The Arigato points program is so great, I have acquired many free bowls from using it. An employee HACKED MY DEBIT CARD. I love their beef bowels. However just before Christmas I stopped at the drive through and used my debit card. He took my card and disappeared while I was waiting. I just felt like...wow...that was odd. Within hours my card had been duped and I was hit with charges from various Subways in New York city. All for around $30.00 each. I only use the debit card for cash or as an id at the bank. Grabbed it by mistake to pay. Typically use cash or credit. Usually quick and delicious do not go hand in hand but in this instance it does! I was starving and decided to try out Kokoro to see what it had to offer and was pleasantly surprised by the clean counters and quick service. I was actually reminded of all those little restaurants in Japan with the similar counter layouts and food offerings. The biggest difference would be the amount of people working inside...in Japan there usually is one or two not the 6-8 that I saw there. I gave Kokoro a "$" even though my meal cost over $10 because I ordered a soft drink, chicken katsu, and a tempura noodle dish. You could easily get a main dish for under $10 which is a bargain for a place that you don't have to stand in line to order and the food is served to you to boot. This is the perfect place if you are tired of McDonalds (GASP!) but still want a quick and delicious meal while you are on the go. They also have a drive-thru which I didn't try. Don't mistake this place for a full blown restaurant but more a fast cafe style place to satisfy your craving for your favorite Japanese food...on the go. I adore this place. First tried it out when I moved to Glendale about 15 years ago. Really enjoyed it and was a regular for a few years and then I moved away. About 5 years ago, I moved back to South Denver area. I became reacquainted with Kokoro and the love affair has been going strong ever since. I love the fact that they offer brown rice for the with the rice bowls. The decor is adequate and service is always friendly. The restaurant also has drive-thru, which is quite interesting, but it does work. We tend to either eat in or order to go inside. When ordering to go, the food is brought out to you so quickly. In recent years, Kokoro added a customer loyalty card, an Arigato card, that tracks your purchases. Once you get to 5,000 points, you receive a free meal. In the past couple of years, Arigato members also receive coupons every few months for discounted meals. The coupons tend to remind me that I need to go in and dine again My favorite is the Sobaghetti and the chicken teriyaki bowl. The Splash is also wonderful and highly recommended. I don't think you can go wrong here. Lots of different choices, something for everyone. And don't miss out during the summer when they offer flavored sake! read more

It's better to eat inside than to go through the drive-thru to assure that your order is right. If you decide to use the drive-thru, then I highly suggest you check your order before leaving as it's usually missing food or the wrong food is given. As for the service inside, it's a hit or miss. There's one server in particular who gets on my nerves. Her name is Yulia. She doesn't take your drink order right away and on more than one occasion she's forgotten to bring part of my order, then when reminded, she's brings it and charges me twice. This has happened too many times and it's getting old. She can also be quite rude unless you're one of her regulars. I don't like being treated like a liar when I'm being overcharged every time I come in here and I'm only paying for what I actually received. She needs to pay attention to what she's doing and learn how to be professional. I've also ordered their sushi party tray. It's a pretty good deal for the amount of sushi you get. I crave a nice, hot bowl of ramen AT LEAST once a week. Saw Kokoro on UberEATS (shout out numero dos) and decided to give them a try! Of course, the Shoyu was the only option when it came to ramen. So yes, I'll take the Shoyu Ramen, please. The ramen was delicious; I enjoyed the rich flavor of the broth and the saltiness of the seaweed. Albeit a simple bowl, consisting of only noodles, seaweed, bamboo shoots, scallions, and pork, I appreciated its simplicity. However, I literally got maybe 2 small pieces of chashu pork.
