I had a great experience with Apex Auto Service. Jace came out to diagnose an engine misfire on my…read moreChevy Trax and was very thorough and honest throughout the whole process. He first ran live diagnostics, pinpointed the problem cylinder, and explained everything clearly. Then he pulled the spark plugs, found corrosion on one, and tried cleaning it to see if that would help. The car idled better afterward, but under load the misfire came back. He noted my plugs still had some life left but, since I was close to 60,000 miles, I'd need new ones soon anyway. He didn't pressure me either way, which I really appreciated -- he left it up to me. He suspected the coil pack cassette was the main culprit (and he was right). I decided to go ahead and replace both the plugs and the coil pack at the same time. His quote was very reasonable compared to what a shop or dealership would charge -- from my research, the dealer would have been in the $600-$800 range. His price was significantly lower, and the final bill even came in a little less than what he initially quoted. The repair itself took less than an hour, and Jace went the extra mile by test-driving my car multiple times while running live diagnostics to make sure the issue was completely resolved. Since then, my car has been running great. On top of that, he was quick to respond, gave me an estimate within a couple of hours, and was very professional and knowledgeable. He also shared helpful tips for keeping the car in good shape and offered ballpark estimates for other maintenance items I'll need in the near future (like brakes and oil changes). Overall, this was incredibly convenient -- no shop wait times, no towing, just fast, honest, high-quality work right in my driveway. Jace handles almost every type of repair except big jobs like transmissions, engine rebuilds, tire changes, or safety inspections, so I'll definitely be calling him again for repairs and maintenance. He also said he can do AC repairs. Highly recommend Apex Auto Service if you're looking for an honest, skilled, and reliable mobile mechanic in Honolulu.

Not sure exactly how to rate these guys since they do not respond when contacted. I called in the…read moremorning on Saturday, no one answered. I left a very detailed voicemail about my situation and what I thought was wrong with my vehicle. I also left contact information. The message on the voicemail mentioned checking out their website. I decided to do so after leaving my voicemail. On their website there is a page to schedule an appt. So I filled that out as well, leaving as much detail as possible. I also mentioned that I left a voicemail. No call back Saturday. I figure, ok, even though they were open for several hours after I left my message, it's reasonable to give a business 24 hours to respond. Sunday was Mother's Day and I'm sure they were not open Sunday. Fine. Monday, still no call or email. I go to the website again Monday night and fill out the form again, just in case they did not see the 1st one. Today is Tuesday, still no reply. It has been 3 business days since I requested they contact me and nothing. Guess they are too busy to need my business. Lucky them. I wanted to leave a 5 star rating like everyone else and was looking forward to finding a good mechanic who can come to me at my home, job, etc. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm giving them 3 stars because I'm sure they do an excellent job, but they don't really seem to care about new customers. Most people are lost without their vehicles. I'm not saying I expected them to come out ASAP. I know it probably would have been several days after speaking to them. But if I never speak to them, they will never come out. Very disappointing.

Plus, he's a mobile mechanic so he comes out to you! Kyle responded promptly to my email inquiry, arrived early to both appointments I scheduled with him, diagnosed my car's problem and now the issue I was having is fixed! He also recommended another maintenance job that I should considering having done due to my car's age, which I plan to schedule with him in a month.
