Called up Dave on a short notice for a punctured tire after trying to get help at Costco and the 76. Dave was incredibly friendly and accommodating and was able to help me out for a very reasonable price. Dave is an honest guy, something I wouldn't have expected to be saying prior to dealing with a mechanic. Fortunately, I lucked out on that particular day getting the help I needed from Dave. I can't recommend him enough! read more

Honestly the most pleasant experience I have ever had with ANY mechanic! Dave is the absolute nicest person. Honest, friendly, prompt, I could go on and on. If I could give him 10 stars I would. Came to us in minutes on a Sunday! So reasonable. Even took our car for a test drive to be sure the breaks were ok. If you ever need a mechanic call Dave's automotive you will NOT be sorry. I would call him again in a heart beat, and have already recommended him to several people. Thank you Dave!!! read more

Fair price good work and don't have to drive to town. Had front brakes done and oil change.

Took my 1999 4Runner Limited to Dave to address several issues. He took care of all of them and at very very reasonable price. Dave will be upfront and honest with you and he will not recommend any repairs that are not necessary. I highly recommend Dave. MAHAOLOS DAVE AND DA CREW!!! read more

DAVE IS THE BEST! I cannot praise Dave highly enough! We feel so grateful to have found him on Yelp. He is efficient, super kind, helpful, knows his business and charges a more than fair price. I only hesitate to recommend him so highly because I don't want him getting all booked up! Seriously, you cannot do better in an auto mechanic than Dave. read more

A friend referred me to Dave & SO grateful for him. I was quoted with about $4,000 worth of work & ready to throw the towel in on my van BUT thank goodness our family found Dave. He has a mobile unit and came to me. Looked over what I was quoted and took a look at my car & what was actually needed. Parts and labor will cost me less than 1/2 of what was originally quoted. Beyond grateful for Dave & his genuine advice on what's best for our vehicle. Mahalo Dave!!! read more

I can see why everyone likes Dave! I called Dave with a concern about my car and he happened to be available right then. He ran the scanner and inspected everything under the hood. It turned out that there was nothing wrong with the car, just a glitch with one of the lights. Other places wanted up to $188 to run diagnostics and needed me to drop my car off for a long period of time. I realize my timing with Dave was fortunate, but he refused to take my money for the diagnostics and seemed genuinely happy to help. Dave did everything with aloha. Thank you, Dave! read more

Dave is awesome! Answered first thing listened to what was wrong with my car and then got back in touch with me very quickly, quoted how much parts and labor was and came to get my car! It was fixed that very day and I was so happy, best mechanic and I won't go to anyone else now. read more

Alternator on my SUV went out the other night while driving and I had to have my car towed home. Rather than towing it to a shop (which would cost a tow fee) and hope they had the parts available and time to fix it in the same day, I decided to give Dave a call. He was able to come out the same day, replaced the alternator and battery for me, ensured everything else was all good, and had my car back up and running within about 5 hours of me calling him. Labor rates are good, he is super friendly, and I couldn't be happier with the service. read more

Such a nice guy and super helpful. Definitely would recommend seeing him for your unwanted car troubles.

Dave is thorough, responsive, effective, and efficient. I was referred to him as the only dude in the area that works on Euro-make cars. Volvo wasn't starting and he first made sure it wasn't something simple that we could just take care of ourselves. The bad news was that it was something pretty obscure that required some troubleshooting. The good news was ... well, Dave and his skills. He figured out it was a burnt coil (which doesn't show up in diagnostics), replaced it and we were good to go. We highly recommend Dave if you want someone who knows what he's doing, is honest, and communicative. read more

First off, I have had some really bad issues with a mobile mechanic in the past which would usually deter me from using ANY mobile mechanic, but Dave has restored my faith in mechanics, mobile mechanics and probably all of humanity in general! :) I was sent to Dave via recommendation from my grandfather and father who has been using Dave for mechanic work for some time now. I am somewhat mechanically inclined so I would usually try and do my own work but I needed a second opinion because of the symptoms my car was displaying. My Lexus was throwing a code which had to do with my car's VVTi system malfunctioning and because I had only worked on older Toyota's in the past, I had no idea what this new technology did. After some research, I asked Dave to come and fix it. He was able to troubleshoot and fix the issue within an hour (probably much less because we were talking story) and also went with me for a test drive to make sure everything was working as it should be. Aside from his actual AMAZING work ethic, he's also a really nice person. Even when I called, I asked where he serviced and he said he mainly serviced the Hawaii Kai area but he didn't even hesitate to come out to Kaimuki to help with my car! I have a 2nd appointment with Dave later this week to change my timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and wires and my VVT pulley. All which he says will be done in 1 day. I'm so thankful to have found Dave and I will definitely be sending more business his way in the future! Because of my amazing experience with Dave, I went from being quite skeptical and scared of mobile mechanics to completely trusting and not worried at all! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Best mechanic!! Honest, hardworking, efficient, genuine, and very easy to speak with. Had many issues with couple of my cars and Dave always solved the problem without overcharging me at all. Took my car to other shops who overcharge me and did half the work and Dave manages to come through and fix what others could not! Great guy! Great mechanic! read more

Dave was on time and quickly changed the oil on my HRV. I was impressed because he checked everything including the tire pressure and found that the spare tire was completely flat. I will definitely use him again. read more

My Honda CR-V drives like new! Dave fixed what I thought was $1000 transmission bill for less than an oil change! He replaced my struts for $100 less than the competition! Hawaii Kai is lucky! read more

Dave came to the house with his van & an assistant on time , was cheerful, competently serviced my RX 300 Lexus provided us the option of synthetic oil with requires changing every 5k rather than the normal 3k Miles,& replaced a sensor that shut down the check engine light. What I found amazing is that he immediately diagnosed a start up " squealing" noise that my mechanics in LA were not able to correct. He's a little more expensive than most, but well worth it. read more

Exceptional service. Very Convenient, came to me. Didn't have to spend money on a tow truck. Not only is he polite but funny. Contacted him early in the morning and was able to fit me in two hours later. Prices are reasonable. I will definitely be using is services again if ever in need. read more

Walked out to my car in the morning to go to work and saw a flat tire. Dave came to the rescue at 7:30AM! He hadn't even started work for the day but made an exception. He drove over to my house in Hawaii Kai, found the sharp pin in the tire, plugged it in minutes and I was on my way! Dave is so professional, courteous and helpful. I highly recommend him for all auto repair work especially if you live in Hawaii Kai. read more

Dave is a professional mechanic with years of experience. His service is outstanding and the price is right. Highly recommended.

I have used Dave three four times now and he always gets back to me within the day I call him and either comes to me that day or the next. Ive had problems with my battery for a while and twice he looked and replaced a few things and both times they were on the house and he came on a SATURDAY. which he usually doesnt do but he had to finish a car that day so stopped by cause I live kind of close. He uses aloha and exchanges in abundance. Nice guy and will give him by car business for as long as possible! SO happy with his business. read more

Few months back, I had a huge nail got stuck in my tire on the way home after 12hr shift. I was very exhausted. Called several places to see if they could at least plug the tire, most of place said that I could walk in but I would have to wait at least two hours. I called Dave and he listened to me what happened, and as I live in Hawaii Kai as well he said he could stop by because he was headed to town anyway. So he and his partner came, they plugged my tire!! I was able to drive my car and didn't have to rent a car until my tires arrived at the mechanic. I am so thankful for Dave and his partner! They have the best service and they are not those kind of people who try to rip you off for service; he first denied to take money and I had to hand him some cash I had at least. Not sure the guy I talked to was Dave but whoever you are, I am so grateful to have met you and your service would be my first option when needed! Thank you very much. read more

Back to Dave to fix my shocks and replace my air shocks with springs. Took a while, but great job as usual and extremely reasonable. My Crown Vic rides like new and with the firmer shocks (KYB KG5572 front & KG5521 rear). Now when I go over a speed bump, my car doesn't shimmy and sway any more. read more
