Not sure exactly how to rate these guys since they do not respond when contacted. I called in the morning on Saturday, no one answered. I left a very detailed voicemail about my situation and what I thought was wrong with my vehicle. I also left contact information. The message on the voicemail mentioned checking out their website. I decided to do so after leaving my voicemail. On their website there is a page to schedule an appt. So I filled that out as well, leaving as much detail as possible. I also mentioned that I left a voicemail. No call back Saturday. I figure, ok, even though they were open for several hours after I left my message, it's reasonable to give a business 24 hours to respond. Sunday was Mother's Day and I'm sure they were not open Sunday. Fine. Monday, still no call or email. I go to the website again Monday night and fill out the form again, just in case they did not see the 1st one. Today is Tuesday, still no reply. It has been 3 business days since I requested they contact me and nothing. Guess they are too busy to need my business. Lucky them. I wanted to leave a 5 star rating like everyone else and was looking forward to finding a good mechanic who can come to me at my home, job, etc. But I guess it wasn't meant to be. I'm giving them 3 stars because I'm sure they do an excellent job, but they don't really seem to care about new customers. Most people are lost without their vehicles. I'm not saying I expected them to come out ASAP. I know it probably would have been several days after speaking to them. But if I never speak to them, they will never come out. Very disappointing. read more

My non-Yelper friend, James, recommended Kyle and I'm so glad he did because I finally found a mechanic that I can trust and who I feel is doing work for a fair price. Plus, he's a mobile mechanic so he comes out to you! Kyle responded promptly to my email inquiry, arrived early to both appointments I scheduled with him, diagnosed my car's problem and now the issue I was having is fixed! He also recommended another maintenance job that I should considering having done due to my car's age, which I plan to schedule with him in a month. read more

So I just bought a 4runner which was over due for timing belt and water pump replacement so I asked my friend if he knew anyone. He recommended Kyle and I couldn't be more happy with the exceptional quality of service!!! I had my timing belt, water pump, and a whole bunch of related stuff that needed to be replaced...in less than a week from talking to him over the phone I had the job scheduled on MY days off and completed! I use my truck daily for work so I couldn't be more grateful for not only the fast service, but reasonable price I paid! Oh, and you can't beat a MOBILE MECHANIC with this kind of service! Thanks Kyle! read more

Kyle is a very knowledgeable and honest mechanic who comes to you and doesn't overcharge. Naturally, he gets a lot of business so expect to wait a few days for an appointment. When he came by to check out my problem he noticed that I have tools and do some of my own work. He started explaining exactly what I should do and how to do it, and what parts to get. THAT'S an HONEST professional. I ended up asking him to do the work because I wasn't comfortable with changing major engine parts myself and he did a fantastic job. My car runs perfectly again and it didn't cost NEARLY what the dealership or any shop would have charged. Highly highly recommended. Again just don't expect him to be able to drop everything that day and squeeze you in because he is usually booked a couple days in advance. read more

Brada knows his stuff. Not gone try and swindle, he straight up. Good brada, good mechanic. Highly recommend read more

My car's engine suddenly died on the freeway in downtown morning rush-hour traffic and wouldn't restart. We coasted safely over to the road shoulder and called AAA. I had AAA tow the car to a well-known, AAA-recommended tire/auto service on Queen St. They called me the following day and diagnosed the problem as a bad distributor, quoting $1,500 to replace it. I know that a distributor replacement job is less than half of what was quoted, so I declined the repair and had AAA tow the car to my house. After paying the tire/auto service's $148 diagnostic fee, they gave me a copy of their written repair estimate, and to my surprise, in addition to $600+ to replace the distributor, they tacked on $800 in "recommended", non-essential services that they did not inform me of over the phone - fuel additive, fuel filter, new spark plugs, new spark plug wire set, etc. I just wanted my car to run. When I got home, I Googled "honolulu mobile auto repair" and saw high marks on Yelp for Auto Tech OTG. I called to make an appointment and Kyle, an ASE-certified auto technician, came to my house the next morning. I showed him the tire/auto service's repair estimate - immediately, Kyle had me crank the engine and he said it sounded like no compression in the cylinders, an indication that the engine wouldn't start because of a broken timing belt, not a bad distributor. Kyle removed the spark plug from the #1 cylinder, hooked up his compression gauge, and sure enough, no compression - a broken timing belt. (If I had let the tire/auto service fix my car, they would have replaced a perfectly good, working distributor for $600+ and then when the car still didn't start, they'd realize that the timing belt was broken, which would have been another $900 to replace just to get the car running again.) So it turns out I paid the tire/auto service $148 for an incorrect bad distributor diagnosis, Kyle cleared one day on his calendar the following week to replace not only the timing belt but other parts that needed to be removed in order to get to the timing belt (water pump, drive belts, coolant hoses, etc.). On repair day, he finished the job in a bit over 4 hours (wow!). He even replaced my thermostat and topped off my engine oil which was a 1/2 quart low! My car started right up and runs great. Here's the real kicker - for all that work, he charged me 50% of what the other guys would have overcharged me to get my car running. Kyle is personable, hard-working, diagnoses and repairs quickly and accurately, and doesn't tack on non-essential items. He recommends things to watch out for, is very reasonably priced, and is reliable and honest. He called me when he was on his way over and called me if he was behind schedule. I'm glad to say that he's my new auto mechanic! Thanks again, Kyle! read more

Lately, I've noticed a number of businesses in Hawaii do not reply to calls/messages... one of them being, Auto Tech on the Go. I called and left a message to inquire about repairing my car. Several days pass and no call back. I sent a message on their website to follow-up and nothing. Not cool. read more

Kyle is the best...the end! We can always count on him to give us great auto advice, even if it means coming out of his way to check something out. He's been doing repairs/maintenance on my Tacoma for the past couple years. Such a humble and honest guy. Best of all he comes straight to you and you don't pay those ridiculous shop prices. Check him out and you won't regret it. read more

Very knowledgeable, explained exactly what was changed and why. Took the time to also chat on some other items that need to be replaced in the near future. Attention to detail and checked to be sure nothing was missed. Cleaned up and left the place in the same condition when he arrived. Can't ask for more. read more

I have used Kyle on several occasions to repair my 99 Honda Accord. Professional, efficient, trustworthy and honest are some terms I would use to describe him and his service. He always shows up when he says he is going to and his rates are reasonable. I would highly recommend him. read more

Kyle made it all the way out to Waipahu to fix my Silvia s13 a/c. Had my own parts and I took only an hour to get it done. The repair cost $300, which was 270 less than what Cesar's Auto was gonna charge me. Highly recommend if you can't make the time to take your car to a shop. read more

I am extremely impressed and pleased with the rapid service provided by Kyle who returned my call promptly and arrived at our locale well before estimate. He diagnosed the problem quickly and got the car going with minimal down time. His rates are very reasonable and well worth his service. I also enjoyed our conversation and wish him much success with his expansion plans. His entrepreneurial spirit is quite refreshing. I definitely will recommend him to family, friends and colleagues. read more

I would've loved to have a good experience with these people and rate this business well, but it all starts with follow up. This is my second time calling and no response. No thank you. I'll check out another mobile mechanic more deserving of my business. read more

This guy is the BEST!! I cannot express how wonderful my experience was. My 4yr old car would not start in front of my house after replacing the battery and a couple of similar episodes in the last couple months! Nighmare the thought of what kind of problem it might be (electrical etc) .. plus the expense of a tow truck!! I called him and he was at my house the next day. He seemed so trustworthy over the phone I left my keys for him at my house because I was at work during the day and it all worked out WONDERFUL!! He found the problem and it was so minor he only charged me the diagnostic fee and even parked my car in my driveway after he was done!! LIFE SAVER!! Ethical and trustworthy and didnt nickle or dime me for the small fix it ended up being! I recommend him to everyone reading this and I will give his name and number to any person that might need auto service!! read more

i have used Auto Tech on the Go for over 4 years now and Kyle has been the best mechanic i ever had. When i first moved here on Oahu i needed a mechanic and basically one shop in Kalihi cheated and the other mobile mechanic i had was not very good. i researched 4 other mechanics and their pricing were very high and then i found kyle on craigslist. I could not have found a better mechanic so i highly recommend Kyle and Auto Tech on the Go Just think if you have car problems Kyle will come to your house or work place, Give Kyle your keys and it will be finished and done by the time you finished work. From my experience you will be highly satisfied and at least 1/2 the price of a dealer or a independent shop. and you don't have to call a tow truck to bring it to a mechanic shop. Kyle told me he has worked at several Car dealership so he know how to fix all kinds of car foreign and domestic 808 330-4397 www.autotechonthego.com to make it easy for you here is Kyle's phone and web page thanks kyle read more

I was refreshed and impressed with the obvious professionalism and expertise from Auto Tech on the Go. The mechanic is local, honest, knows his stuff, and refuses to skimp on backyard-type fixes. I am so grateful for the time and diagnosis that the mechanic gave me. He is unusually honest and forthcoming in his explanation. His decisions are based on making a car that will last in the long run, not just a quick fix. I really feel like Auto Tech on the Go has in mind the best interests of their clients and their transportation, not their pocketbook! If you are interested in a seasoned professional that is honest and far, these Auto Tech on the Go guys are good. read more

I've used Kyle a half a dozen times since I wrote my 1st review, and I'm still as impressed today as I was 3 years ago. Yes, he's busy, but he will always do his best to work you in as soon as he can. He's very thorough, he always gives me all the info and options before fixing something, tries to save me money when he can, and is honest about what he feels is the best way to go. His prices consistently come in a lot lower than what I've paid for the same type of work in the past, and I never feel like he's in it for the money. He can be a little hard to get on the phone if you leave a voicemail (I assume it's because he's always working or on the road - yes, he really is that busy), but I've learned that if I text him, I'll get a fast response. I have also recommended him to others who have had equally excellent experience. I'm picky about who I recommend because it's my cred on the line too, and he always makes me look good. Thanks Kyle! You're the BEST! read more
