It had been installed in the car in the previous year and although his labor warranty had expired he honored it because it had only been two weeks past the date. Then one day it just wouldn't start. A friend referred me to Jeff, which was great, because he came right to my house and I didn't have to have the car towed. Jeff took it step by step, starting with the most economical repair, and although that was needed, the problem remained. Then he diagnosed the secondary problem and corrected that. Found out I had a problem with what I thought was an oil leak on my Nissan Rogue. Called Jeff after hours on the same day and left a message. He called back within an hour and came out the next day to diagnose. Took him about 15 mins to diagnose (something to do with a broken gasket and grease leaking from the axle) and call around for the parts. Was out the day after to fix - took him about 2hrs. Ok...well, haven't had to use Jeff's services in a number of years..due to dependable vehicles...think the last time I used him was in 2010. Used to be proud to see his truck driving about in the Hawaii Kai area (he won the Star- Bulletin newspaper's award one year for auto mechanic repairs)...almost daily would drive up my street...but hadn't seen his van in some years, so I thought he had retired...which I thought would have been a negative for me. Find out that my relative's vehicle has not had any of her brake lights (both back or 3rd brake light) function in some time, and that an accident was waiting to happen... panicked when we found out when did this first occur? Well, good lesson to teach my son in trying to eliminate the variables, so we bought new brake lights for all 3 rear lights from Napa Hawaii Kai..nope that wasn't the answer after replacing the bulbs...so check the fusebox...gave my son first hand working knowledge in pulling out the fuse from the fusebox under the front/left of the instrument panel...saw that the fuse was not broken...checked the internet and found out next variable would be a problem with the brake light switch...whoa...ok, too sophisticated for me so I stopped there. Time to call in or drive it to the nearest gas station for servicing...but thought about Jeff, since he's a mobile mechanic, and my son didn't have to fear about driving without brake lights to the nearby gas station (yeah, he could have used his left hand outside of the window to give slow down/I'm braking signals) for the repair work. So I called him on a Sunday (well, his recording now says he works only 5 days a week, M-F---which is good for him...he needs his rest), and he called and left a message Monday mid morning saying he can put me down for Wednesday. I returned his call and tell him the same set up as in the past? Told him I'll just hide my key somewhere on my carport and he will retrieve it.. Come home from work on Wednesday, and find his invoice in the driver's seat and key hidden back where I left it...reasonable cost for his labor and for the brake light switch (for a 2007 Nissan Versa hatchback)...came out to $143 and change. He circled his address on his invoice to say to mail it to him, which I did the very next day. Owner/Mechanic Jeff was very honest and helpful. This was the first time I contacted him. Did so based on his rave online reviews. He promptly called me back. Although I was outside his service area, he diagnosed my starter was defective, and told me how to get the engine started. I used a metal pipe to tap the starter, and presto, my 1995 Honda Accord car started. I was able to drive my car to my neighborhood mechanic for immediate repair today. I owe it all to Jeff. I called and left Jeff a msg late Friday and I knew I wouldn't hear from him till Monday cause his voice mail said he is closed on weekends, I got a call 8:00 am on Monday (awesome) and he was at my house to look at my vehicle. Once he figured out what was wrong he had to order the parts ( and I would recommend spending the extra money and buy OEM parts) came back the following day and had it replaced in a flash. My car broke down on Thanksgiving. We got it towed back to our home and started our search for a car repair shop and came across this mobile repair on Yelp. All the reviews were 5 stars so my husband called Jeff the day after Thanksgiving and he said he wasn't available until Monday. He came Monday and after going back and forth to first get us a new battery then diagnose that it was the alternator he got it fixed by the end of the day. All the reviews were true - very professional and prompt. He also explains what is happening and gives you alternatives. His costs were reasonable and the fact that he comes to the home makes it so convenient and saves us towing costs if we had to take it to a service station.
