I like this particular Kohl's better than others for a couple of reasons. 1. The racks are usually nice and tidy...of course I am usually there in the morning and almost never on the weekends. But I have been to other Kohl's at the same time and it looks as though a tornado has hit the place. 2. Customer service is outstanding. I got in a line that stretched around the store one morning and I was on a time crunch! There were only 3 people working the register, but within 10 minutes, every line was open! I stood in line, maybe 15 minutes total. The one in Lakewood is HORRIBLE at adjusting for long lines. read more

We came in on a Sunday. We normally shop at the Bella Terra location. There's more merchandise at Huntington Beach but hardly anyone around for questions and the location is always a mess. Our experience was way more pleasant (although not having perfume testers to smell the perfumes made me not purchase any of them, Macy's here I come). Kimberly rang us up for our purchases (men's apparel since that could be tried on before purchasing) and was so sweet and courteous. I was a little disappointed with the customer service I received on my visit. The signage had the wrong discount price listed. All the items on the rack were Levi's denim jackets and the sign (pictured below) said Levi's outerwear was 40% off. When I got up to check out the cashier said they weren't included...literally this style jacket was the only one displayed under the sign. The cashier called the manager over and the manager was super rude. I gave 2 stars only because the cashier was sweet. Nice store and employees but I do have complaint. Way too often you get clothes home and there are ALWAYS at least 1 or 2 security tags still left on the clothes. How can you even pass through the security without the bell going off? In my case it was 2 bras. The employees have to take their time and REALLY examine each garment WELL because customers do not want to have to come all the way back some night after work for tag removal (with receipt in hand). read more

Kohl's online service is the worst thing I've ever experienced. The system doesn't work with Apple Pay and when you attempt to manually input a separate shipping address the site auto corrects to the billing address, over and over. I spent an hour on Thanksgiving doing just this; that's how badly I wanted an ugly Christmas sweater! And just when I thought I had it right, it shipped to my billing address. If you think they'll refund things shipped to the wrong address or change the address, you've got another thing coming. I called them the exact moment I got the "your item has been shipped" email! They simply pocket the money and tell you they'll "try" to intercept the package. Of course the word "try" concerned me... so I asked if they could guarantee interception, to which they said yes. Long story short, someone else just got a free star wars Christmas sweater and I'm never shopping at Kohl's again. I don't like being taken advantage of and left feeling powerless. read more

The worst shopping in SEAL BEACH. picked up some jeans on sale for $13. waited in line for 10-15 mins. only because it was a good deal. got to the high school cashier and it was ringing up for 26? I'm giving 1 star rating ONLY because I have to rate the store. Monday I went to return a few items. I didn't want to lose my kohl's cash, so I asked for a store credit/gift card. The Young lady at the counter/register said that she couldn't do that, that I could only credit my card!! Really?!?! I went to kohl's tonight to shop for a bath rug but decided to see what kind of clothes they had in stock. When I entered for the first time without a mask, I was very surprised at how the inventory of the clothes was not a lot to choose from. I looked at the exercise clothes and found a couple of tank tops and a pair of pants for the Fourth of July. As I was shopping I overheard two girls talking about other employees and one of the girls said that we should have more males on the floor helping but that sounds sexist and as she kept talking to the girl she also said well all the pretty girls are always in the jewelry and makeup department. I was appalled at what I was hearing and it made me want to put down the clothes that I was thinking of purchasing back on the racks. I spoke with a girl about the incident at customer service and all she could do was apologize to me of my experience and when I went to checkout I reported the incident to the manager and again all she could do was apologize for my experience. I'm not sure of what will happen but I can tell you one thing is that I won't shop at that location again. I will shop elsewhere. read more

I ordered a piece of jewelry online to pick up but didn't realize it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow, but Barbara at jewelry and the man at customer service (who's name I regrettably forgot) were extremely helpful with finding the specific item and completing my order! Worst wait time and indifferent customer service reps ever. My mom was waiting in line for 20 min (she was the only person in line) behind a very difficult customer. Several additional employees walked by, but none would help the poor girl who was having to answer the phone and help customers with no back up. Apparently employee lunches take priority over customer convenience. The two employees stood and ignored us, talking about how they needed a break and how some other employee was stealing another customer's social # off the screen while she looked up her Kohls card. I'm not reviewing this particular Kohl's just to get that little "first to review" emblem - this Kohl's has the best clearance section I've seen. All in all, Kohl's isn't that exciting of a store. Pretty run of the mill clothes, decent for some work clothes, but great for super cheap clearance clothes. I'm big on just plain t-shirts - but with maybe puff sleeves, or some nice detail - I've bought a countless amount of these at Kohl's for under $5. Clearance sections in general are disorganized...but this store's isn't nearly as bad as some other locations and stores around. I rarely buy regular price anything here...if anything I'll get it on sale. Actually, you really should never buy anything full price at Kohl's if it's not on sale today, chances are it'll be on sale tomorrow. I just discovered Kohl's department store this weekend. Not bad. With this recession we're in, you will find a good deal of discounts and price reductions in this store. I bought some chic Vera Wang ensemble and nice blouses. The prices are very good and the store is very well organized, which makes shopping easy. The sales racks have 60% to 70% off marked downs but offer some dated digs. I'm an Anthropologie, Banana Republic and Gap kind of girl, but I made out with some great digs to mix and match. I also made out with a tacky XMAS sweater for Christmas '09 (I am prepared this year). Kohl's is great. It's a throw back to the Henshell's department store of yester-year but better than T.J. Maxx and as good as Nordstrom Rack. The store also offers great cookware, dishware, and house ware decorating items on the second floor. Great store to create outfits. As much as I try...I just can't like Kohl's. I don't get it!! It has such promise with all of its affordable goods...but it lacks luster. First of all...all the hype that surrounded Vera Wang's "Simply Vera" collection just pissed me off. My grandmother and I ran down to the one in Palm Desert to check out her clothes after seeing them on Oprah and in a catalog, only to feel incredibly let down. And this Kohl's does the same..."Simply Vera" is the first crap you see when you walk into the women's section...it's all droopy, shabbily crafted, and drab. I don't give a hoot that it's affordable..it's HIDEOUS! Secondly...they have a HUGE bedding area...again, such promise. However, at further inspection, it too....is loaded with shite. I found a pillow today and was on my way, much to my surprise, to actually purchase it, and I found a big ol' stain on one side. What the? I admit, if you dig you can find SOME stuff, you just have to dig...deep. On a more positive note...their returns department has very lovely women working there! Quite polite! lol I'd say, if you are low on cash...Kohl's is good for some cheapy make-up, perhaps sheets, and maybe kid's attire... But that's it. read more

On Black Friday I spent over $300 and the cashier ran 3 authorization requests on my credit card: 1) was the total without my coupon so the manager voided that transaction 2) the charge for the correct amount 3) this charge I did not authorize and did not get a receipt for and it is for the total from the first voided receipt.... I went to the store talked to a manager and he said since I have a voided receipt I need to contact my bank for the double charge because it's voided I'm their system so there is nothing I can do... now after months of going back and forth with my bank it has been determined the sent 3 authorization requests to charge my card and only voided 1 instead of 2 incorrect charges so no I have to dispute with kohl's AGAIN!!!!! I have now been on hold 5 1/2 hours with no answer with their corporate refund office... IDK about you but $378 is a lot of money for me, of which I can not afford to just hand over... no one at kohl's can figure this out or even answer a phone.... I used to feel kind of "eh" about Kohl's... I don't know why. I guess I had trouble finding anything I liked amongst the clothing, and when I did, I thought it was priced a little too high. Sure, during their big sales, prices are great, but it's a madhouse. So many people. So many carts. Viciousness! Aaaahhhh. (I don't like big crowds.) This was before I discovered the 24/7 clearance department. Tons of racks behind the elevators. A lot of the stuff is like 75% off. Really nice stuff for next to nothing. Also, I think this Kohl's has great customer service. One time, I came here and I spent like five hours choosing new towels for my bathroom. Then I came home, hung them up, and they looked awful. I brought them back the same day all crumpled up at the bottom of my shopping bag, and gave my money back with a smile. Oh, and I came here the day after Thanksgiving last year. (One of the huge sales.) And because the lines were so long (wrapping around the store), one of the employees was actually walking up and down the line offering people candy. ...Well, I thought it was cute. read more

Had to return a jacket I purchased online. It didn't fit, and I didn't really like it as much once I saw it in person. Because I didn't have the credit card I purchased it with (it's complicated so I won't go into it here), the return got a little complicated, but Gareth was extremely helpful, and persistent in dealing with the people at headquarters (or where ever), and eventually got the charge credited back to my account. I don't recommend purchasing clothing online, anywhere that is (not just Kohl's), but if you do, Kohl's would be the one store I wouldn't have a problem doing so. Thanks Gareth! read more

This is a really nice Kohl's! I came here to exchange a few baby clothing items on a weekday evening. First off, this is a really big Kohl's - we are talking a two-story shop complete with an escalator. Parking was a breeze with plenty of spaces dedicated to this store. My main mission was not casual shopping, but looking around there appeared to be a wider selection here than at the Kohl's in Long Beach off of Carson Street. When I came in to do my swap of items, Kelly at the customer service section helped me. She was great because for one of my items, I couldn't exchange it with anything in store (it was too specific of an online-only item), but she talked me through the slightly more circuitous route to ensure I could exchange it while not paying extra shipping costs for my new item (score!). She made the whole process very straightforward, which is something this preggo mama needed. Overall, the staff were helpful and patient with my odd return; the store was clean, tidy and well-stocked; and it was a pleasant experience. If I need Kohl's items in the future in the Long Beach area, this will be my go-to Kohl's. read more

I visited this Kohl's on Black Friday...TWICE. It's big and the selection is great. Their kid's toy section is much better than the Kohl's on Carson in Long Beach HOWEVER... 1. I was attempting to purchase a watch and there were two employees dealing with the man in front of me about how they didn't want to accept his coupon through his phone. I was standing there for about 10 minutes and then one of the ladies walked off. I had to ask the employee helping ring the man up if the other lady was helping anyone else because I need help. 2. The watch looked like it had taken a jog, walk, and swim through the sand of the Sahara dessert. REALLY??? I didn't examine the watch b/c I knew I was going to exchange it for a watch they didn't carry, I just wanted to lock in the price but while I was standing in line upstairs, ((refer to problem #3)), I took it out of the bag and noticed how disgusting it was. 3. When I visited Kohl's at midnight I was charged twice for an item, so I had to go back and get the price refunded. I would LOVE to rate them better, but those issues are enough to want to never visit this one again, but I will, because it's closest to my home, but the customer service smells like Oscar the Grouch. read more

This location shares a private lot with Babies R Us and Home Goods, Ulta, and one other store located right near by in this complex. It's also a two story location which (for some reason) seems to make things seem less crowded and much cleaner. Shoes and housewares are upstairs. Also, a cute selection of jewelry and Vera Wang downstairs. I love Kohl's and how cheap everything is (although I really don't shop here often, when I am in "the market" for something, the deals can be found here). I came in to buy ONE pair of shoes for my little one. They were advertised at $19.99 - good thing that I saw the Sunday ad before we got there - there weren't any signs up advertising that the shoes were on sale in the store. I also had a 30% off coupon (thank you Kohls) so she got two pairs instead of one. The second pair rang up at $14.99 before the coupon (also not marked anywhere so I had no idea how good of a deal I was getting before I got to the register). I also ended up grabbing some new t-shirts for my little boy off of the clearance rack. The shirts all ranged in price from about $2.50 to $4.50 (sweeeet!) My only complaint is that because the shoes were not well marked it was not clear what was on sale and what wasn't. If I wouldn't have KNOWN that the shoes we came in to buy were on sale, we probably would have ended up with another pair that were CLEARLY on sale instead. Also - if I had known that the second pair of shoes was only $14.99, I would have bought more than one pair while I was in the store. Overall: Check the website before you come in, that way you know what's on sale... anything else you find on the multiple clearance racks in each section is just icing on the cake! I never go to Kohl's and now I remember why. No one cares about the customer experience. The deals are about the only reason people shop there. I purchased a dress and a skirt online and my order was shipped in two parcels. The first one to my surprise was huge. I opened it and behold an XXL Columbia puffer jacket was in it. Not my dress. I search online for answers of how to get my correct item and find that the best way is to go into the store for a return. So I make my way there thinking it only take a few minutes to return the huge jacket and get my right item shipped on its way to me. But when I braved the 30 minute line of returns, for only one person was manning it, the worker tells me that I have to call the manufacturer because it was their mistake or I'd have to re-order the item which is now $30 more than when I purchased it. I was baffled that I would have to call the factory when I am the customer and I'm paying Kohl's to deal with all that. I was so upset and not wanting to deal with Kohl's anymore I asked for my refund which was less than what I paid for the dress. It's clear to me now that they don't care about their customers or even own up to the mistakes they make and expect the customer to jump through hoops on their behalf. Horrible experience. I'm a fan of Kohls especially when I get an extra discount for using my Kohls CC. Whoo-hoo! I get that from my mama! Kohls is a basic, less expensive department store, I'm sure you all know what its all about. Reason for visiting this particular Kohls was that my husband and I were on our way to Hawthorne from San Diego this past Saturday and I needed a new pair of Levis for that night. I wanted a Kohls located right off the freeway so we used the GPS on the iPhone and he missed the first one I found then this one was the next on the list. I have to say this Kohls was clean, a definite plus. The racks were fully stocked, which is a good thing! Service was excellent. Though we did have to wait in a longer than usual line. And the people here were super friendly. I did feel left out when we first got there though. My husband and I are both Filipino/White...yet he looks Hispanic at times and sometimes I do too, so not matter what they thought we were, everyone was well White. Not that it matters cuz we're both half White and I have a slight country accent. I was just looking to see if there was any mixture of people. So for this particular Kohls, I give it 5 stars. This review is for Amazon return at Kohl's Buena Park: I drove there for the first time 11 am Saturday. I was hoping the Amazon desk would be easy to find. There was a dedicated parking spot for Amazon returns in the spot closest to the front door. After going in the front door the first sign you see is the Amazon desk to your right just inside the door. There was a friendly young man standing behind the counter. I showed him my return code on my smartphone which he scanned. He took my package and some labels he generated and gave me a receipt. I was done in two minutes. I usually use UPS pickup for Amazon returns but in this case it would have been $12.99 to return a $7.99 item. The return at Kohl's was free and could not have been easier or more convenient. read more

Terrible customer service. None of them knew anything about price match. They all look at each other all confused of what to do. Had to ask 4 people at the store to see if anyone is knowledgeable about their policy. Even the manager there didn't know they could price match with BestBuy? One of the lady acted like she knew it all and rejected me because the original price of BestBuy was cheaper. Why the f*** would original price of other store be the same? Especially when Kohls is ripping people off. Left the store empty and felt rejected because they couldn't understand their own policy. Had to call Corps and report how they fail to know anything. Corps said the shouldn't have given me trouble. But that's just how it is when you deal with people that can't read. read more

I went into the Seal Beach store to purchase one at the $299 advertised price, manager would NOT sell to me at $299 because he stated they were for the DoorBuster Sale at $199! He suggested I go on line at 10 PM to purchase. At 9:40 PM I had one in my cart on Kohls.com at $299 but it would NOT let me check out, After repeated tries to check out, the price suddenly changed to $199 and IT WAS in my cart within 60 seconds it was removed from my cart and I rec;d a Out Of Stock message. Although my cart total price reflected the item but it would not let me check out so I called Kohl's after 67 minutes of holding for a supervisor I was basically told "sorry" so the 403.16 purchase I made in Kohls of other items a few hours prior will be returned entirely to Kohls and they can EF off!
