Beware of what you try on. Inspect it first. I got a cute dress into the fitting room and was getting ready to take it off the hanger and noticed the straps were barely hanging on. Super cute dress but not buying or even trying on something that's damaged. No one on the sales floor. The only employee I ever saw was the one at the register. Store Manager named "Leslie" is incredibly rude and stuck up seeming! Not just to myself, but to other customers and employees beneath her! I have been a customer there for a long time, and I have witnessed her being this snobby, disgusting way many times! I don't understand how employees have not got her fired or complained already... I'm sure they have... I've worked for retail before so I'm sure it is some corporate reason she hasnt been canned, but... yeah... just very rude and snobby lady. Kohl's. You wouldn't expect to grab awesome deals here, but you can! If you're a Kohl's card member, every few weeks, you get a flyer in the mail for 10%, 15%, or 30% off any merchandise. If you're here to buy clothes, the discount is nice, but really what you should spend the discount on is the kitchen and small appliances section. I purchased a carpet steam cleaner for dirt cheap compared to other places because of the 30% discount combined with a special 15% stacking discount that they had. I'm not the most fashionable guy, but I think most guys would be able to find something they like here. read more

That lady worked her tail off looking the clearance item online, on the Kohls app, and finally called kohl's and had them look it up by researching my purchase history! What a champ. 3.5 Great selection, decent prices, but the clearance racks are always such a hot mess. I don't know what's worse - that customers can't be bothered to place items back where they first find them (leaving them hanging on top of the racks, on the floor, or sizes are in the wrong section), or the fact that the staff aren't keeping on top of the messy racks. Kohl's usually has pretty good home selections, but their shoe department leaves lot to be desired. Their worst "bargains." read more

Hey Kohl's! No one likes your pricing policy that you have to buy two of something to get the sale price! Today I picked out a T-shirt that I thought was $10. The sign said 2/$20. It rang up as $13. Cashier said I would have to buy two of them. I said I didn't need two, so I didn't buy it. Also would have bought a pair of black jeans.....but they were $48, not on sale. Didn't need a second pair at half off. I walked out with nothing. You lost my business today. These are ridiculous pricing policies. No one usually needs TWO of anything. You are losing money by pricing your merchandise in an unfair way. One extra star for the nice cashier who said "a lot of shoppers do not like that you-must-buy-two policy". Kohl's, please reply. Many of these reviews are addressing online order problems and other situations that are not attributable to the Petaluma Kohls. The Petaluma Store itself is fine. Employees are friendly. Customer Service is consistently patient and efficient. I have never been treated rudely in this store. Love to Shop here and so glad we have a department store in town. read more

The store itself is great. But I completely wasted my time going there today. A total of TWO HOURS of my time wasted! By the time I drive there, park, shop for an hour, stand in line for about 10 minutes I find out my Kohls Card had an issue. The nice girl ringing up the merchandise said she has not seen that prompt on here register before. She called over her superior and she said to call some store headquarters number. I called the number on the credit card and found no issues with it or my Wife's card (she was not with me at the time) They tried using my Driver's License, cancelling the transaction and starting all over. It still wouldn't work. Then they said I need to call a different number. Well, that department was CLOSED. All this took about 20-30 minutes total. So I drove home empty handed. Oh yea, I did all this for a video group conference call that evening. I still have about $700.00 credit remaining on the card. Looks like I'll be cancelling that credit card as soon as I can. It doesn't work anyways. Without the convenience of the card I'll venture into other stores now. What really upsets me is they didn't even notify me about an issue before hand. I wasted my time and other people's time not to mention felt like an idiot. They could have called me, they could have called my Wife, they could have emailed me or my Wife, they could have even sent a letter to me or my Wife. Nothing. And it is a horrible feeling when there is a line of people waiting behind yo looking at you as if YOU'RE the reason it's taking so long. But hey..... what is Kohls gonna do about it now? read more

I was in the jewelry department and a man was having an issue with a woman's transaction, I guess the woman who came over to help him was a manager? She was the rudest person i have ever witnessed in a store. Did it make her feel superior by reprimanding him in front of the customer and everyone else? I was so embarrassed for him and she looked like a fool! Kohls, you really need to check who you have representing your store. First impressions go a long, long way. read more

Seems there are no employees work there and they do not help you. Im afraid for the loan cashier at the front being the only one there if anything were to happen. The shoe section is a disgrace. Shoes not on display and boxes are mixed all over the department. I even had an employee come over but kept her distance and looked at me like I was doing something wrong. Never thinking "can I help you?" Everytime I go there (which is not very often) I say "why the hell am I here?" I wish Mervyns was still around because Kohl's is always a disappointment. read more

Unimaginably bizarre store. I'm a fan of Kohl's and their great deals, but NEVER GO TO THE PETALUMA KOHL'S. The other day I went in to buy some long sleeve shirts, and as I'm sorting out my shirts in front of the cashier (she was helping with this) I FOUND A MASSIVE DRIED BOOGER on a shirt I was about to buy. I told the cashier, in disgust, that maybe I wouldn't buy this particular shirt after all. A normal person would have understood this, but she called the manager who happened to be standing close by. He instantly ACCUSES ME of smearing the snot rocket on the shirt and demands I buy it now! Wow. Who are these people!!!!!? The manager was some guy named Dan Keefy (?). I decided it wasn't worth arguing with such an a-hole, so I walked out leaving Dan holding his booger shirt. Stay away from this place. read more

I asked a lady(old looking witha pony tail) in jewelry department, if I could pay here for my bakeware she answered "yes "and then during the process she reapproached me that I came to the bussiest department.I was shocked to hear it because I was there an only customer!! I was in there today an I have to say I had one of the best experiences I have ever had here. I had two women help me, Patty & Teri. They were both wonderful. I was shopping with my two month old son... which isnt always easy, as some of you know. Teri was awesome... she helped me leave with more than I expected an that is GREAT cusmtomer service in my opnion. Both of these ladies made my experience memorable an wonderful. I will continue to shop here and send people your way!! on another note.... Also I was there the same day " Carole M " was and she was a down right BRAT. I was watching the "HALF HOUR" exchanged scarf, an there was a computer error with returning the scarf. It said that the scarf had already been returned in the system. all the employee did was take care of the situation, an make sure everything was correct. When it was Carole's turn all she didnt was rant and complain.... like continuously.... we get it.... your unhappy. Grow up. the world doesnt revolve around you. Kohl's is a good department store with a wide variety of merchandise in different departments. Someone mentioned a "fitting room attendant." I don't even get those at Macy's these days, much less at Kohl's, but I don't expect that when I'm buying $20 pants and tops. Seriously! The prices are good. The coupons keep me coming back, and the return policy is beyond great. I've purchased things at Kohls.com that I couldn't find in the brick and mortar store that didn't fit, and was able to take them back to the store with no problems whatsoever. You can also purchase things at the store before a sale to make sure you get the items you want, and then take them back during the sale for a price "adjustment" a couple of days later. This Kohl's has a way better selection than the one in Santa Rosa, for some reason. Probably because it's in a smaller city and hasn't been picked over by thousands of others. It's still only average, though. I hate how they ask for ID when I use my Kohl's charge, which is AGAINST THE MERCHANT AGREEMENT. Nice clean store! (I've seen some that looked like a tornado struck it) Heather at the register was very friendly, in addition helpful explaining the rewards I received. The cashiers are friendly, but the sales floor associates are not very service oriented. I would shop here more often if the store wasn't always in such a state of disarray. Housewares and kitchen looks like it's been looted and quite often I have to go in search of a price checker because the displays are so wrecked I can't tell if it was supposed to be there or not. Actually disgusted with what I overheard yesterday. I came in last night to do an Amazon return and as I was walking I witnessed, what I assume to be, a manager telling this young girl employee that the area she just cleaned looked horrible and to pick up her pace because it looks terrible. I thought maybe it was a joke, but based on the look the girl had on her face it's very clear it wasn't. I used to be a manager a few years ago and I wouldn't even think of speaking to my employees the way she was. If you think it doesn't look good, maybe get off you butt and help her! I waited until the manager left and told her that I thought it looked great and she was doing a good job. She looked exhausted and defeated. I hope the poor girl realizes that lots of places are hiring with better management. And I hope the management here acknowledges that maybe their issue with short staff isnt because nobody wants to do retail, but because the way they speak to their workers. Don't treat employees like you have others to take their place when you clearly don't. I won't be going back. read more

I went to Kohl's of Petaluma yesterday and I will NEVER shop there again! My boyfriend's mom had coupons and she has an account there. Of course our coupon wasn't good for just about anything we picked! The cashier Renee kept telling me if I apply for a card I'd get 30% of all of my purchases. I keep repeating I didn't want to do that and she ket saying even if you don't get it you still get the discount. I wasn't afraid they wouldn't I don't believe in credit I have a bank card and owe no one money. I finally left the store without purchasing anything!! My boyfriend's mom came home and paid off her account and refuses to go to Kohl's ever again. Wake up Kohls theres alot of competition out there! Rivals the Kohls are Northgate mall in san rafael. Since i stay in Novato they both are at the same distance. Same price,similar collection. Looks a little bigger though. As someone new to area and the USA, I have decided not to shop at Kohls again. We bought a Nutribullet recently and also ordered shoes (via in store machine). The shoes arrived with security tags still on. The customer service email never responded to three emails (the third was just out of curiosity as to why they wouldn't respond). I brought them to the store eventually which removed tags. As for the Nutribullet, we bought it through Kohls due to a $20 rebate but they will not honor it. I sent everything off by post requested, and weeks later get an email saying not accepted due to insufficient document. After several emails a human answered and said I had used wrong form. I replied that the forms could only be found on the Kohls website through a Google search and it did list the model I bought. Eventually the guy said he would sort it out. It has been a long time with no further update. I emailed them twice and no response. Plenty of other stores with similar choice and pricing so I won't be using Kohls again, too much hassle if it goes wrong. The staff in this store seemed nice incidentally, but the shoe section was a mess (it was after Black Friday Cyber Monday to be fair). read more

This is the worse store to go shopping at. You have inexperience RUDE, NOSY, UNPROFESSIONAL TALENT OR KNOWLEDGE when it comes to customer service at this location. I have two accounts with KOHLS... one by myself and one with my husband. As i was taking out my cards, trying to purchase items for my husband and wanted to use my card that only had me on it, the cashier was mining my business... looked into MY WALLLET and started making accusations about having multiple cards and because it was A CREDIT she had every right to make the accusations. I say B.S.!!! You mine your own business and don't make accusations and start an argument with the customer! I didn't even present the card to her yet and she made it a big deal that I had more than ONE CARD. I HATE THIS STORE after that experience. Never in my life.. never have I ever had a store personnel start trouble because of the amount of cards I had and never have I ever had anyone not a family member look into my wallet and start accusations. This literally happened yester, 2/11/2021 at around 5-6PM. I requested someone else, and the other lady was so much nicer and she did her best to make me feel taken care of. But after that experience with that cashier, I felt so invaded, disregarded as a LOYAL CUSTOMER and TREATED SO UNNECESSARILY BAD. I was soo traumatized that I couldn't let it go and felt someone HAS TO DO something. That was wrong!!! That was not right!!! It was a young female, above average weight spanish speaking. I love shopping at Kohl's stores and always utilize my coupons (won't go without them). But I have to say our local Petaluma store has gone to the dumps recently! It used to be nice/clean, well kept, but the last couple of times (and especially yesterday) it was just horrible! I felt like I was in the dumpy Ross dept store we have down the street! There were clothes in every dept all over the floors, the shoe dept was a joke, a total mess! There were clothes (not just one item, but the "whole" lot of them) on the wrong racks with "sale" signs and they were not even the items on sale! Every fitting room had clothes in every room and the return rack looked like it had been there for years! One fitting room didnt even have a return rack so stuff was just piled on the floor! Kohl's.com's offer to "look into this" is meaningless. I had TWO supervisors and a Manager look into it and none of them did what they said they would do. Kohls.com failed at keeping their promises to send me the merchandise I ordered and their promise to refund my money in a timely basis. I took my problem to the store to see if they could help me. The Manager did her best, but even though she could see that the package had never been delivered to me, she could not issue a refund. She called Kohls.com to try and help me. She proceeded to get a mish mosh of answers depending on who she talked to just like I did. I have been told by multiple Kohls store employees that they receive a lot of complaints from Kohls.com customers. So, this is not new information. So, why would I want to contact Kohls.com again? Isn't that the definition of insanity...doing the same thing and expecting a different result? Call them for the 6th time? Spend another 2 and a half hours trying to get this resolved. NO THANKS! I will file a complaint with my CC company. Kohls.com just lost a customer...FOREVER. Shopping with them is not worth the frustration. Broken promises and bad faith. read more

I don't know if all kohl's stores are so trashy but the clothes and shoe section is the worst. I rarely come in because when I do nothing is where it suppose to be. Sizes on the wrong size hangers, clothing not returned to right area, clothes not re-folded. Very difficult finding what you need. Poor management and lazy staff. read more

I purchased a comforter which I initially purchased on my Kohl's charge but immediately paid off with my debit card. The comforter didn't work out and when I returned it the clerk insisted that my Kohl's charge be credited even thought I paid it off with my debit card ( it had been deducted from my account already) the answer was that they give credit to the account it was originally charged to. I spoke with many of their departments including the corporate office and have never experienced such rudeness in my life. The connotation was it's too bad this is our policy. Needless to say I cancelled my Kohl's credit card because there is too much competition and I prefer to deal with co. that will treat me with respect. read more

It feels good to get a good deal - but, their regular prices are insane. You are much better off just going to Target or Walmart for whatever you need. Anyway, this Kohls is messy, I think the cookware dept is run by the Food Network, everybody has their line of cookware on display. All I wanted was a rug, the electronic sign says 60% off, so I go through the haphazard pile, find one its marked $99.99, gimme a break! The women's section in this store is a mess. There are racks of clothes that look like they're what's leftover from the dressing room. I stood in line tonight (a Saturday evening during the holiday season) and only one person was at the register. She didn't call anyone to come help her even though the line continued to grow. I have always liked shopping at the Kohl's in Petaluma and will more than likely continue to do so. This review is a complaint for their (lack of) customer service with the 800#. As I type this I am literally still on hold trying to rectify a mess up on an order I placed on line. It's now been 35 minutes. Not how I envisioned my Sunday morning. I do a LOT of on line shopping on a variety of sites and Kohl's has historically been the most problematic.
