I had…read moreno idea it was a glasses/sunglass store with a handful of random pop-up items within the lobby area of this old 1929 bank! As soon as I walked in one gentleman greeted me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I was merely shopping And he showed me their guard dog. Lol a cute little six month old sheep herding dog. As I walked along the exterior, they had a number of glasses as well as cute, quaint things perhaps a gentleman or bachelor might like. Random things for whiskey, lovers, as well as smoking cigars and even modern style wallets for gentlemen. They are also a number of leather handbags and hats towards the end caps. As I walked around another gentleman seem to get off of his lunch and came back inside and started playing on the grand piano that was in the foyer. The way he played, was so beautiful. It sounded as if the CD/music changed overhead until I looked at the piano and realized it was live! Things in this particular shop were a bit expensive or high-end, but they were also namebrand items. They also had some less expensive things such as 20 and $30 wallets as well as some random lavender or incense. You could buy kind of like a small stocking stuffer or little sidenote present , overall I really liked the old feel of this particular building but since I wasn't searching for anything in particular for a gentleman or within the eyeglass department, I never bought anything but I love their display. It was very memorable.

Today my daughter and I went in for her to pick out a birthday gift for herself. The young woman at the register, Jupiter, was very rude to us. My daughter chose a pack of Lorcana cards and I was looking at the earrings, but Jupiter was huffing and puffing impatiently since she had rung up the cards and wanted to finish the transaction. I asked her a question about the earrings that were on the counter and she snapped that she didn't know and that I should just look at them to figure it out. As i kept looking at them for less than 15 seconds, she slammed her hand on the counter and abruptly turned around to do something else. When I picked out the earrings to buy, she snapped, "Is that it now?" I asked for her name which she barked it at me while asking my name in the same confrontational way. I maintained being friendly to her, mainly to spare my daughter, (she's a sensitive adult with special needs.) As we walked out, Jupiter tried to cover her tracks by thanking us and wishing my daughter a happy birthday, but the damage was done. My daughter said she doesn't want to go back in there if Jupiter is there. This isn't the first time the Staff has been rude, and while we've also been greeted by friendly workers, the negative treatment has happened often enough that it's clear that half of the Staff needs to take a refresher course in basic customer service.

Plants and pots seem to be my theme lately and I'm ok with it. This cozy and inviting space is filled with indoor plants and pots of various sizes. Make sure you look high and low so you don't miss anything! The friendly staff approached me to assist, and helped me measure to find just the right size. I took home another pot, a clean matte-finish, white ceramic and it's the perfect replacement pot for my existing snake plant. Thank you Flourish Team! They also sell greeting cards and little home decor items and some jewelry. And they have a new location in Sebastopol. I'll be back!

Hot wax and small vittles are a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon! Jenn our fearless soy candle leader was informative and fun. I appreciate her authenticity and real connection that she made with us. It was nice to meet someone who was able to be themself. Refreshing. The entire class was an intimate group of five total. Jenn took her time with us and made sure that we were happy with the scents we chose for our candles. The class spends a bit of time talking about scents and how to layer them. Did I learn how to make candles on my own? No. It was more of an introduction to the world of candle making. Give it a try and dip your wick into it. FYI: You get a 15% store wide discount on the day of the workshop. Scents open up more fully in your candle after a few days. One Disappointment: We checked Google and Yelp for their hours and thought we could make it before they closed. We raced over for our candles after work. Google & Yelp HAVE MISINFORMATION about HOURS. We tried to call...no answer. Hours are not posted on their door. So check their website for their hours.

Had an awesome recent visit to NorCal Hobbies with my son. I hadn't been there since 2015 after…read moretaking a long hiatus from the hobby, so it was really cool to come back. My 4-year-old is obsessed with anything with 4 wheels, so getting back into RC with him has been such a blast. We came out to get my 2WD buggy on their awesome indoor carpet track and let my son check everything out. The whole experience was great. The track is fantastic, and the shop had such a welcoming vibe. One of the highlights was their indoor rock crawling area. We had been wanting to try crawling, and Will was kind enough to loan us a crawler to test out. Needless to say... we ended up leaving with one! Overall, we had an awesome time. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and made us feel right at home. Can't wait to come back for more track time and check out some of the upcoming events. Be sure to support your local hobby shop!
