I have always loved going into this cute little store for years. Always with one of my grandchildren who always loved riding the rocking horse outside. Takes me back to my childhood! But this past Saturday, June 14th around 5:00 I was in your store with my granddaughter. Got a chuckle outta of the F@#$% Trump t-shirts but what I totally did not like at all was when the background music that was playing in the store had a rap song playing with the same lyrics as your t-shirts F#$%^ Trump. I immediately told my granddaughter "let's go" and left. Regardless of what your political beliefs are I feel it was very wrong to play this kind of music with these lyrics in a store where practically half the merchandise is for children! This was such a cute and quaint little store that reminded me of iconic old 1950s or 60s toys and do dad's as well as things from my own childhood. I love how these toys worth made for children to figure out things on their own, such a Montessori style of learning that children nowadays miss out on while using electronics. I really liked all the random stuffed animals placed throughout the store as well. I will definitely be back again!! read more

Petaluma...whenever I visit, I find another fun and unique shop. The town always seem to surprise me with their fun, one-of-a-kind small businesses. Do you need a mediating Sasquatch ornament or a narwhal tape dispenser? I mean, no, but maybe? And also if you don't I'm sure someone in your life does...Their goods range from full novelty to whimsical yet practical (think journals, fun socks, and mugs.) The shop is packed to the brim with fun and quirky wares to look at. It's sensory overload-in a good way. I've been in a few times and there's always something new. Kitsch, novelty and tongue in cheek household, desk and wearable items abound. Staff was friendly and they were doing a brisk business the weekend before Christmas. After many years, Heebie-jeebie has decided to sell out to the American dollar over being a family-friendly oriented General Gift Store. I counted no less than 15 sayings that assaulted my children's eyes as soon as we walked in. Fuck this, shit that, bitch and goddamn. Every swear word from an R-rated movie front-and-center printed on multiple types of goods and sundries. My kids were asking in two seconds, why does it say that? Why does this store sell things with so many cuss words? We used to ride champion outfront all the time, Then take a little stroll inside for some fun knickknack. Now, my daughter asks, what people shop here mommy? Not us, dear daughter...ever again. Clean it up HJ. I happened to get lucky and scored a killer vintage soft leather classic coat! Best deal all trip. I visit family in Petaluma every few years and hit Heebe Jeebe every time. Always wind up getting something fun. This last time, my daughter got an adorable knit hat with a California map and she loved it. Wore it everywhere on vacation. She lost it and I called Heebe Jeebe up and asked if they could mail me another one. Although we all decided we were too big to ride Champion (the mechanized horse in front of the store (see my pix) we did share sweet childhood memories of riding "cousins" of champions in those carefree days of yesteryear. Talk about Cheap Thrills----those 25 cent rides bring back million dollar memories. If you're looking for retro candy (Necco wafers, chocolate or gum cigarettes, abba zabba, razzles, pop rocks, etc). Day of the Dead stuff, bead curtains (about 12 different types); Hello Kitty bandaids; and countless other items you didn't know you needed--this is your store. We all crunched into the photo booth and had a strip of b&w photos taken. Very entertaining and embarrassing--how is it possible for the four of us all to be so non-glamorous in all 4 shots? Each of us found things we liked. My score was a box of cards that tell you how to swear in 8 different languages! I've always wanted to expand my swearing repertoire! As a tourist is important to support local businesses, I went into this store to purchase some gifts and funny socks to afterwords realized they charged me $35 more than the items cost. I didn't check even though it sounded incredibly expensive at the moment I paid. They are very good at give you only the card slip and not the normal receipt with each item listed. I hate when they do this. Skip this tourist trap. read more

Really cute shop but unfortunately the woman working the cash register was on the phone le the entire time while I was trying to check out. I thought she might take a break from the phone while she rang me up but instead she continued her personal phon conversation and didn't really speak to me. I honestly kind of regret that I didn't just leave my items at the counter. I love to support smaller, local businesses but would appreciate someone giving me the time of day. I moved to Petaluma In 2000 and Heebe Jeebe was one of the first shops I found. It has a wonderful mix of gifts for every age. You can always find something. I love the fact that they caring local artist and have their own gallery that they show case some of these local artist. The staff is always friendly and helpful. This is really one of the greatest stores I've ever been in. Everything they sell seems original, creative, and as good a gift as any for even those you know that seem to have everything. Most of the items have a great sense of humor and style that seem like they'd never be dated. The clerk was very nice, playing good music, and wasn't overly attentive. They even had an area in the back that acted as a mini gallery for an artist whose work was very cool and very well priced. Petaluma is right off the 101 and I recommend stopping by this store, even if you just stock up on the best greeting cards you could ever give, as they have a ton of amazing ones. read more

They offer all kinds of hard to find items that are trendy and entertaining. A great place to stop in when you have free time to explore the store. You can really look around for a long time and not see everything. Martha owns this store. She is the hip wife of long time legendary ILM set designer who's work can be seen gracing the top shelfs. One such offering from this genius is his personal tribute to Jerry Garcia. It is done in metal and has glasses are fashioned by some very skilled hands. Spot on. It's the Mona Lisa of Petaluma.
