I've been here a few times and my experience is always wonderful! The employees are really nice, and there's a younger gentleman with brown curly hair that is always helping my kiddos pick out the perfect toy. Will be visiting again read more

They had a great selection of toys and squishies, which my kids were really excited about. Unfortunately, we bought the last two dumpling squishies they had for $14.99 each, and both packages looked like they had already been opened. There was no seal or tape on either container. When we opened them, one was clearly not in new condition. The face was almost completely rubbed off, which made it look like it had been used or handled quite a bit before being sold to us. It was really disappointing, especially for my kids and considering the price. These same dumpling squishies are now sold at the dollar store for around $3, so paying $14.99 for one that appeared used was especially frustrating. read more

The kind of toy store that is inviting you to touch everything. So many interesting toys as well! Stimulating stuff, indoor and outdoor, intelligently arranged. I loved the science sets, and the little kid versions of cricket bats and javelins. When you walk in, there's a giant spherical ball maze that I could have spent hours on. read more

I had a very uncomfortable experience at Toyworks today. There were two women at the counter looking at Needohs, and they had a few in their hands. I reached over to pick up a duplicate Needoh so I could look at it and check the price. At the exact same time, I heard one of the women say in Spanish to get the other one as well. I immediately said, "Oh, here you go." She politely responded that it was okay and that I could have it. At that point, the owner stepped in and told the woman that he had more in the back, and then told me that I was being rude for reaching over them. I explained that I was not trying to be rude and that I reached for what I thought was an extra item to look at the price. What upset me most was the way he spoke to me. I felt humiliated being called rude in front of other customers over what was clearly an innocent misunderstanding. The interaction became so uncomfortable that I ended up becoming rude myself as I was leaving, which is completely out of character for me and not how I normally conduct myself. I understand that reaching around someone could potentially be perceived as rude, but there was clearly no malicious intent, and I immediately tried to be polite once I realized the situation. His need for confronting and embarrassing me in front of other customers was out of line and unprofessional. Safe to say I will never return to that store or give them my business. read more

A fun little toy shop next to the used book store! :) The staff were super friendly, and they have a wide selection of toys - from infant and children's standards, to Legos and drawing toys for older kids (like me in my 40's). ;) The prices were reasonable, and in all it's a fun little shop! read more

The service was okay, they kept walking away and weren't very clear. I paid almost TRIPLE the price for one single NeeDoh which is crazy. I will NEVER be coming back read more

When entering the store, you feel a magic...a childhood magic that just puts a smile on your face and unlocked the inner child. The crew is happy to not only to help answer questions but adds a hospitality that seems to be lost a larger big box shops. The intimacy of space doesn't discount their huge variety of selections...and a very helpful service is their free gift wrapping; this a huge win and will keep me coming back. Speaking of coming back...the team and the owner will make you feel at home...come back for the toys stay for the teams company. Thank you for bringing childhood nostalgia into the modern era...making it current, fun and treasured. Wonderful toy store! read more

The Toyworks - Don't miss back entrance on Sundays during the market! - Toy Stores Near Me - Sebastopol, California

the guy that runs this store is SO rude! with his over priced toys and bad attitude i'm surprised they are still in business? also, you can only purchase ONE sonny angel per GROUP of people, not per person like usual stores. treating customers like they are resellers. happily not returning. read more

Very disappointing customer service experience. I will say the cashier was very kind, which I appreciated. However, this experience really left a negative impression by who I believe is the owner. read more

(Please read to the end) Recently i went in with my niece and daughter, sadly we were very disappointed. Im gonna make this short by saying this place is a horrible place to bring your children. There is a older male which is very unprofessional. I was near the art section and over heard the male in the back yelling in front of all the customers at one of his employees, a very nice young woman. My daughter was crying very badly we had to leave! He had followed us outside after and accused us of stealing! I had continuously tried to explain that wasn't true he threatened us multiple times to call the police after showing him proof that we had nothing! i would give this place zero stars if i could! read more

.....very disappointing experience. They do have a nice (and overpriced) selection of toys but the customer service was terrible

It has a great selection of toys for all ages and a friendly staff who is willing to go above and beyond to help you find what you're looking for. read more

Beware! I left my payment card there by accident. There was no attempt to contact me. That same day, Sunday, 3/10/24, it was used by one of the 3 female employees to attempt a charge for $131.00 at SHEIN. It's all documented by Exchange Bank. read more

Super sweet staff, toys, set up, everything. You can find pretty affordable deals if you explore the store. I believe it is a smaller business so supporting it is a plus. LOVE their puzzles I got. And I'm going to be 22 on my next birthday yet I can honestly say that they have some of the highest quality slime around. They were incredibly helpful and welcoming. And they are extremely kind and respectful. I wish I wasn't broke because I have started quite the collection of puzzles from you guys. They are some of my favorite things. But being a student makes me keep more track of money. That's ok tho because their puzzles are such GOOD QUALITY they will last a lifetime. Thanks for everything and keep up the good work! Please come here instead of buying plastic crap from Walmart ! You won't be missing out! LOVELY PLACE read more

Yes, most definitely ! They have an fine selection of toys, learning toys as well as for items for young ones such as toddlers. I found items for my grandchildren. John was very nice as well as the rest of the staff. read more

This toy store is nestled downtown and has an adorable Lego soldier "standing guard" out front. I brought my husband here - mostly with our nephews in mind - partly for him. We walked from the back of the store through to the front. Shelves are lined with plush dolls, small toys, stuff you can build, animals you can dress, and more awesome toys - even some I recognized from childhood! There were children's art supplies, a Rube Goldberg setup out back, and a balance bicycle in the window (a bicycle with no pedals, for toddlers). It was full of greatness and a lot of fun to walk through! We didn't buy anything for our nephews (we already have their Christmas gifts) but this would be a great place to shop for any little ones in your life. read more

This is one of the best toy shops I have ever been to in my life! It has a great assortment of toys of all kinds and for all ages. There are a lot of interesting toys that I have never seen before, which is fun. And they have the classics like Lego and Melissa & Doug. Just when you thought you've perused the entire store, there's an upstairs too!!! If you are in need of sensory toys at an affordable price, this is the place to go. TIP: There's a cute backyard with play stations and places for parents to sit and hang. Grab some ice cream from Screaming Mimi's next door and chill in the backyard while your kids play!! And the owner is super friendly and very knowledgeable about the toys in his shop. You can tell he puts thought into the stock of the store. A REAL GEM! read more

I love this store! We were drawn inside because of the giant perplexus puzzle and awed by their depth of engaging toys. My 2 year old was drawn to their building tables and entertained while we looked around. I regret not buying more as I live in SF am now deeply disappointed in our local toy stores because they have a less than quarter of the toys I liked and saw at Toyworks. read more

Awesome selection and service. Lots for kids to see and try. Both mainstream and educational toys in abundance.

Nice store. Nice people. They've always been helpful when I've been in there. They don't have the bog brand name toys like Hatchanimals, except for Legos (got to have that!) and maybe a few others, but it's nice to see the variety that they do have. They focus on well-made toys. read more

We were visiting from out of town and found this toy store. None of us wanted to leave. We got to know the staff, they demonstrated the cool toys for us, we even came back again!! Of course we bought some awesome toys. The reason I would give them 10 stars if I could is that my daughter lost one of the little critters she bought at the Toyworks. She was very upset to put it mildly. Jonathan at the shop found another one for her, and we arranged to have him ship it. I even got two because she loved it so much, I figured she could give one to her friend. The compassion and understanding this showed really made me fall in love with Toyworks even more. Couldn't be happier to support this place and will definitely be back in the future. read more

I am giving toyworks 5 stars I was very impressed with the amount of personal attention that I received while visiting your store. We all know how stressful Christmas shopping can be. The clerk made it easy, we gave him an age for each child we were shopping for and the kind of toy we wanted turned and left. A short time later here he is with what I was looking for and a couple ideas for that age group. He was very helpful. He even wrapped them up for me. Thanks again toyworks read more

Great toy store with quality toys. They have train tables set up inside (and a cute play space outside) with toys to try out and also perfect to keep the little ones busy while you browse. Prices are pretty fair especially for a boutique shop with quality toys and friendly helpful staff. read more

DO NOT order anything online before going in here. The prices are competitive. The staff is great: friendly, conscientious and knowledgable. Our family happened in here while the 4-year-old and daddy were finishing up their ice cream cones at Screamin' Mimi's down the street. I took the toddler for a walk, and came upon this wonderful, fun, lovely toy store. Why is it that only smaller towns have toy stores like this? The layout was friendly to kids and adults both, with play tables in a few areas with different play sets out... so grown-ups can look over the options while keeping one eye on their little one. Great, GREAT selection of good quality, worthwhile toys (Plan Toys, Play Mobil, Ryan's Room, Melissa & Doug, etc.), thoughtfully organized. I was pretty much in heaven. The staff was kind, and while I didn't happen to ask any questions, they seemed like they would have been a great resource for suggestions or advice. read more

Love this store! They have a great edited selection of quality toys. It is the only toy store where I could tell my kids to "Pick Anything", and feel confident that they would choose something that doesn't make me want to cringe. They have great educational toys, imagination toys and even outdoor toys....and of course are pleasantly absent of violent toys and barbies. Happy!! I'm also pleasantly surprised when I find a bargain on something. Being a small town store, they are a little pricier than the big boxes of the world, but they do a good job keeping their pricing reasonable. read more

I like shopping here, I have shopped here for 10+ years! Great toy selection, helpful staff, and lovely little community toy store. They are very cool about kids touching toys, running around, etc. But I ask for only one thing. After I buy $200 worth of toys and you already run my credit card don't just leave the toys on the counter. I had to ask for a bag. Then I was charged .10 cents for the bag. Then because my card was already ran I had to search around in my bag for a dime. My recommendation is that you build the cost of the bags into the price of your products in some way? Then you can just bag up the toys? You could use eco-freindly bags and anyone who does not want a bag can ask you not to bag. Or at the very least the staff needs to learn to ask "would you like a bag for .10 cents more?" prior to running the transaction. read more

At first I thought they were going out of business because the store seemed empty & changed, however I guess they did a remodel? Regardless, the selection has become limited, they have plenty of games & interests for older kids but the age group for 5-8 is limited. They don't have much for girls, a simple doll would be nice. No barbies or similar type of toys. Disappointed, they used to have dress up outfits & such. Bummer. Guess I'll be traveling to Santa Rosa for kids birthday presents. read more

Best toy store in Sonoma County- hands down. I'm always amazed when I go into Toyworks at the awesome stuff they have and remember I need to go there more often. What separates them is not only do they have great stuff, but it's all great stuff. There's no crap to be found anywhere. And it's not like everything is super expensive either. You can get something good for less than 5 or 10 bucks. I only wish the Santa Rosa store was still around, but it's worth a drive to Sebastopol. read more

I love this store! Wonderful customer service. Well organized with a great selection of toys! Shop local

Good selection of toys especially playmobil. Good prices. However service is spotty. My 3 year old son needed to use the restroom and they directed us to a public one down the street. I'm pretty sure they have an employee bathroom somewhere. If you cater to kids you should be prepared to share your restroom with little ones who may not make it down the street. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I was shopping for a baby shower gift and I asked my parents to pick something up locally. The person working today was late and opened the store late. He had bad customer service and spoke to them with a lack professionalism. Before he even opened the door he insisted that my dad tell him what he wanted to buy. Why? My dad hadn't even seen what the selection of items inside. I feel bad about this experience because I specifically asked my parents to shop there. I am not sure if this interaction is the norm there? Whatever the reason...rudeness is not acceptable. We all have bad days, but I will not patronize this store again, nor will I encourage my friends to. There are items for children at Copperfield's books and another store for kids toys in the Barlow. read more
