My friend and I took a trip to Santa Rosa and stopped by while walking in downtown. I'm so glad we did! Such a wonderful shop with cards, pens, journals, pictures, ceramics and more. I bought a few cards and cork placemats. When I showed them to my husband he said I should have bought more because of the great quality. This is a wonderful old, local store, one of a dying breed of similar places which used to be common in downtowns but are now sadly mostly long gone. Santa Rosa is fortunate to have a place like this still. It's a mixture of nice stationary store selling a huge range of pens (and refills), pencils, stationary, cards, etc., plus nice homewares like good crystal and china, along with games, puzzles,and art. They sell a number of locally made or themed items, too, such as art and crafts by local artists, puzzles with local images or themes from the area, and more. It's also a great place to get Christmas decor at Christmas time, for during the Christmas season they sell a nice range of ornaments and nutcrackers, including high-quality German-made nutcrackers and wooden ornaments, ones instead of just the more common lower-grade things one can find anywhere. read more

We bought our very first mantle clock at Corrick's in 1984 and, truth be told, have not been back too often over the decades. That changed this year when my family was in town for a very special wedding and we decided to spend an afternoon downtown and dropped into Corrick's on a lark. I remember the store being very nice but staid but now they have added some flair with some sections in the front for local artists. Bought my wife a hand made copper wall piece made locally for her Birthday. Decided to return last week to find my wife a Christmas present, which I promptly did, as did my Brother In Law for his spouse We celebrated with a beer at Russian River Brewing. I had also found a marvelous flowing wooden sculpture by Charles Cobb that had no price tag, which was fine, as it seemed like it might be a bit expensive so I decided to return with my wife. Kevin thought it was $500 but wasn't sure. We returned and bought our 40 Christmas Cards, as they have a huge selection of cards, and then went to look at the Cobb sculpture which she loved as much as I. After a day or two of confusion over the price tag, with some indication from the artist that the price might be above our $500 limit, we came back to choose an alternative. A very nice one for $320 but not as nice or large as the original choice. Kevin, the manager, refused and gave us the original sculpture for the $500 though it seems it was worth much more after a conversation with the artist, possibly almost double. Kevin has a personal arrangement with the artist that allowed him that leeway and we were over the moon. Thank you Kevin, Susan and the rest of the staff; you made our Christmas. We will be back several times each year without a doubt. read more

Old school, "snazzy" housewares & gift shop that your mom and grandmother would really love. Sells the tchotkies and stuff that every upper middle class household has on display in the family room cabinets and on the walls of their ever-so-tasteful homes. Even to me, a 1960's hippie love child, this place has the old world charm of "good taste" and socially conservative decor. But my tongue in cheek assessment does bow down to the fact that Corrick's has been in business since Jesus was a carpenter and has successfully served the Santa Rosa upper crust population quite satisfactorily for several generations. I have been coming here since high school. I always get good customer service here. They have all kinds of stationary and gift wrap, all kinds of different trinkets, awesome pens, crystal, glass, wedding supplies. We got our wedding invitations at this store. The guy who helped us was very knowledgeable and helpful. Our invitations were perfect. I have never had a bad experience at here. There's an overwhelming arrogance to this staff. Like they work at a high end jewelry store. You sell office supplies and dust collecting Knick knacks. Was downtown looking for a gift bag. Was told to try here. I walked in the 4th street entrance and 3 cashiers were chatting and I had to interrupt them to ask for help. When I asked where gift bags were a man pointed "they're back there." This store is huge. With lots of gift options and floorspace. I looked around the area he pointed me to. Couldn't find a large bag. Again had to track someone down to ask if that was all their bags. A girl pointed me in another direction. All this time I'm carrying a large jewelry box. Nobody offered to help me. There's at least 10 employees in there. Maybe 3 were with customers. The rest were chatting. Horrible customer service. Only after I gave up and just grabbed a roll of gift paper and a bow and paid for it did the cashier tell me they offer gift wrap. If only the other employees who saw me carrying a box would have thought of that. Hope the owners realize their staff needs a total overhaul. Rude rude rude. Don't waste your time here. Besides selling beautiful glass knick knacks and other finery they have loads of greeting cards, office supplies (folders, envelopes, pens, pencils, rulers, rubber bands, etc etc), art supplies, services for wedding announcements, journals, a few books (on the gift, novelty side---ie an animated book on African animals,) stuffed animals and much more. Shopaholics like me love this store. Most husbands like Mr Rinky won't. I am sad to hear that some Yelpers were not greeted or treated with a warm or friendly attitude. That is a deal breaker for me. My fiancé and I came in here last Saturday. I admit I tend to avoid places like this filled with useless collectibles, but I said hey why not give it a go because we were looking for bridal party gifts... What we got instead was a very rude lady who asked US if we needed help in the first place. I said yes, I was looking for ideas for bridal party gifts and she got this really confused scowl on her face like I had insulted one of her many cats. Anyway she just stated that she had no idea if there was anything like that or maybe she could look in this book but it probably wouldn't be useful. It would have been fine if she just said sorry we don't really have anything like that, But she made me feel so awkward and crappy inside with her questions and her disdainful looks I feel compelled to warn all other poor souls about stepping foot in this place as their merchandise and engraving is also waaaay over priced compared to competitors. I'm usually a sucker for stationery stores but my brother and I were on a mission to find a globe. Word on the street was that Corricks sold globes... and they do!! After being cheerfully greeted and offered assistance, we price-checked the assortment of globes and maps and narrowed our choice down to something that was just a little over $40. It was gorgeous! Though we were on a time limit, I did a quick browse of some of the stationery, gifts, office supplies, and assortment of things that I so desperately WANTED to take home. They carry all sorts of supplies that I used to find in college bookstores or special-order office catalogs and some really neat gifts. I ended up getting a key chain coil (since I'd been on a mission to find a sturdy one). The staff was super helpful, super friendly, and the store is very well maintained. I hate reviews that get personal or seem to be written as a vendetta, however I had to rate my experience at Corricks. I was shocked by the lack of customer service, arrogance, and down right rudeness that was levied upon me on my first and last visit to Corricks. My wife had purchased me a gift for Christmas and it was improperly gift wrapped, which caused the item to break. I pointed this out to the salesperson who proceeded to belittle me and accuse me of lying, in a voice so that all other customers could hear. I was completely blown away. How does a company stay in business since 1915 by treating customers that way. I did receive my money back after a full blown argument and I will never buy or recommend this store to anyone. I would have told many people of the great customer service I received at Corricks, if I had actually received good customer service, but instead I will tell the world of the worthless service I received. read more

It's a very nice store but no employees in the store at the time said nothing even passing by a friendly "Hello" would be sufficient. read more

This is an old time-y store ( opened in 1915!) and it still looks like something out of a time capsule which I love. They still have the mentality to buy something nice, made of quality so it lasts forever. This is a good place for gifts and wedding presents. I've also found nice stationary here, cards, and paints. A refreshingly old-fashioned store with high quality items, and it's also an art gallery of sorts. There is lots of original art on the walls by local artists and handmade furniture as well. But my favorite reason for going to Corrick's is for Christmas decor (and the subsequent sales after). They sell these beautiful, wooden tiered pyramids with little holiday scenes that spin from the heat of candles. And the customer service is amazing as noted by many others! read more

I just love this store! If I'm in the area, I always try to stop in and browse because inevitably they will have that certain "something" that I've been looking for for a gift (or maybe for myself *laugh* and I didn't even know it). They have a great array from the practical, to the whimsical to the striking and unique. It's that thing that you know it when you see it, and you leave with a smile on your face. That's this place. My latest visit was more whimsy as I bought a couple small gifts for friends, a pretty pewter barrette, a tote bag and some thank you cards. This store is worth a visit. We were shopping around for our wedding invitations and having a lot of trouble finding a particular style of envelope that we liked. I final found it on line and Corrick's was the closest retailer to carry the style. We went in and talked with Matthew, he gave us a rough estimated price that was within our budget, we just had to wait for confirmation from the company because is was a very custom style of envelope. When the company called back Matthew called us immediately with bad news of the price being in the $12 per range. Matthew was so helpful in offering us a discount because the estimate was so off, but he went even more of the extra mile and contacted the company getting us an incredible price on just the paper in the cut we needed so that we could make the envelope ourselves. I would go back and work with Matthew any day for the incredible customer service that he gives and would highly recommend Corrick's to everyone looking for special service! read more

That last review was too weird for words. Corrick's is an old-time fancy-goods store. Back in the day, they stocked office supplies because, well, no one else did. They also stocked reference books. Still do, and while I haven't bought a book there in years, if I need pens or paper or account books or the like, it is way more convenient than going to Office Depot for a $10 or $20 purchase. Their china, silver, and fancy gifts are as good as you will find, and they really have no serious competition, if you are into that sort of thing. I have never imagined that they have some sort of religious orientation. Certainly there is nothing at all to make one think so. I'm wondering if they met the manager, Corrick Brown's son, who is a very friendly person, and in that is similar to a lot of overt Christians you might meet. I go here to pick up overpriced office supplies from time to time since I live and work downtown and hate driving. Corricks has a wide selection of office stuff and other things that I can't relate to like crystal dinnerware. This usually attracts a pretty old crowd. With its wide cartographic section, this store is also a good place to pick up a detailed map. The people who work here are fine at their job but never overly friendly to me. I suspect they're all Christians and go to the same church -- again, something I cannot relate to. read more
