Kohl's in Monona is convenient for those of us in Monona, McFarland and Madison's near east side neighborhood. While it's not as big as East or West it still offers a great selection with Kohl's low prices. Mary from Platteville was so disrespectful to us and other customers shopping. When at check out, it's was unclean to go when checking out. We went in it the wrong line and we were yelled at. This is a convenient Kohl's location off the beltline and generally a good place to stop for quick clothing finds or kitchen deals. It is a smaller store, but you can do pick ups in the parking lot and also do order from the store. I've really liked all the staff here. I opened my Kohl's card here a couple of years ago, and then last week had the nicest cashier who helped me with my app and the coupons since I couldn't find a scratch off that I knew I qualified for. The selection is somewhat small for plus sizes, that's my biggest issue. They have smaller selections of shoes too, but they still have everything I need to have basics.c, or at least to know what I want to buy off the website. read more

Bought 181.00 dollars worth of Christmas gifts on my credit card online. After returning them all with my online receipt, I was only credited 132.00 dollars to my credit card and the rest was given to me in Kohl's cash which I did not want but since Kohl's cash was used to buy some of the items you can only get Kohl's cash back. The manager who I talked to said that's just the way it is and I couldn't get the full 181.00 dollars back on my credit card. Buyer beware! read more

This Kohls was amazing! We normally shop at the one on the east side, but will be going to this one from now on. The store was really clean and well kept. All of the workers were extremely friendly and they all made sure to say hi to all customers when they walk in. It was such a warm welcoming and made us all feel so happy! kohls has really gone downhill. I used to buy quite a bit from them. I contacted them twice already about an order. I didn't receive it yet. They were happy to bill me for it. I asked them to cancel it and they said it's in fulfillment yet. They told me they were sending me a replacement order which is funny because the original order never left their warehouse. It says so on their website. I am very disappointed with Kohls and I regret buying anything there this year. They told me I can't cancel my order because it's still in fulfillment and I should receive it by November 30. I originally placed it on November 12. I am beyond frustrated. Go somewhere else and buy stuff. Macy's has really good deals lately and there Customer Service is awesome. read more

I'm not generally a Kohl's shopper. I'm not generally a department store shopper period. I get most of my clothes online, at thrift stores, at discount/closeout stores (like Burlington), and occasionally at boutiques. When I was younger, before I knew of those options/before they existed, I was a semi-regular Kohl's shopper. It was always a good go to place to get T-Shirts and dress shirts, and they almost always have coupons and sales. Those things are still true, and I still occasionally go looking for them. Most of the time I buy online, including Kohl's.com, and occasionally need to go in for a return. I almost always go to this location. The customer service counter is tucked away in a remote corner of the store, but somehow I dont mind. It feels less hectic than other stores. The staff at this Kohl's is ALWAYS friendly and pleasant. Perhaps they train at Chick-Fil-A. Recently I tried doing an Amazon return at this store. It was painless, but more complicated than when I do them at the UPS store. I wont be using Kohl's for that again if I can help it. read more

I live on the far east side so the east kohls in more convenient however I will only go to kohls monona and here's why. Everything is organized. You don't have everything thrown into one store like the others. The check out lanes are more convenient. The return/Amazon/ item pick up is still in the back of the store instead of mingled in the check out lane and it's less chaotic. read more

I've done a lot of business in Kohls over the years and am becoming disillusioned with them. Most recent is their decision to remove the Petite Dept. to Online only. I now have the privilege(???) of paying a delivery charge I didn't have to pay when Petites were carried in store. I queried the charge at Customer Service and was dismayed and annoyed it's the young lady's response: 'Well, the driver needs to be paid.' That wasn't my problem when Petite sizes were still available in the store. I am losing weight (intentionally), I don't need more than one pair to avoid the shipping charge when I don't how long I will be wearing them before dropping another size. It was like it was an afterthought when she mentioned having them delivered to the store to avoid the charge. She should have had blonde hair instead of brown. And I am really disappointed in Kohls decision to remove Petite sizes from the store. read more

I have been to this Kohl's before. I haven't for a while though. This store is smaller than some of the others but that's ok. It is a very neat clean store. Nothing laying on the floor and I love that they still have a jewelry counter. I found things here that the other Kohl's didn't have. The best part was the check out lady. "Meh, I've experienced better" just about sums up this location. It's not terrible (clean/organized enough, close to downtown), but I would much rather go to either the west or east locations. The biggest issue is that it's small and lacks selection. For example, I was recently on the hunt for a winter coat. The other locations easily had 30 or 40 different styles to choose from; South Towne had fewer than ten. Another issue is that I often find myself here around the holidays and EVERY SINGLE TIME the line to check out is all the way to the back of the store. Truth be told I've never actually completed a purchase at this location because I can either a) not find what I'm looking for at all, or b) am not buying anything worth waiting in line for 30-60 minutes. Coming to this realization as I type this is convincing me to just skip them next time and head straight to the edges of town for one of the other locations. read more

I'm writing this review for one simple reason - I hate, hate, hate how much pressure Kohl's(and some other stores) put on customers to sign-up for crap after purchase. Do you have a Kohls card? Would you like a Kohls card? Really? You'd save $5. Are you sure? Really? Ok. -- Now imagine having this dialogue every single time. It's like an annoying disclaimer in a movie that you can never skip and constantly have on repeat. I've even answered before sarcastically that I prefer to only pay full price for everything. I know the employees are instructed to do this but its just so annoying for myself that I have actually not gone because its just so irritating. You already have my money - take it! read more

I really, really hate this place. Not Kohl's in general but this Kohl's. The service never seems to be great and every transaction I have made ends up messed up. I know, I know, it can not be true. It is. I stopped going there, though convenient. The first time I was double charged for an item, then I was overcharged for an item, then my exchange was done improperly. The last time, when my exchange was not done properly, I lost my coupon I used during the transaction. I exchanged the same item for a different size by the way. I had earned Kohl's cash during that transaction too, so the took that off what was owed. Even though, I did an even exchange, somehow it cost $25 to do it. The cashier said she was mistaken and did a return and repurchase and did not know how to change it. Great. read more

I generally like Kohl's, and I used to think they were all the same. I have been to this Kohl's location many times over the years. I have come to realize that this location is a terrible place to shop if you are a mom. This location is not mom friendly at all and it is nearly impossible to shop if you have very small children. I've been here a few times recently with a sleeping baby in a car seat. At most stores, you can safely place the car seat in a shopping cart while you shop quickly (because you never know how long you have before the baby wakes up). The shopping carts here do not safely fit a car seat. If you absolutely need to, you can place a car seat on the cart if you hold it steady and never take your hands off the car seat or cart. The main aisles are crowded and disorganized. It's difficult to get around with a cart (even without a baby). The aisles in the departments are too small. Everything is too close together and disorganized. It's hard to shop when you can't access the aisles. The baby/toddler clothes are very poorly stocked. I can never find the sizes I need. The employees seem somewhat oblivious to the fact that they are in your way as they're focused on unloading boxes and stocking. At least 3 times during my recent visit, different employees pulled carts of stock near where I was shopping, boxing me into the area. It felt like I was going through a maze to get out. I'd recommend the West Side location if you are shopping with kids. It's much better organized, has better servicethey have safe carts for small children. read more

I have never been so pressured by a cashier to open a Kohl's card. How many ways do I have to say no? She asked, no insisted and then confirmed that we didn't want to open a Kohl's charge. I had not visited a Kohls in over a year. I needed a swimsuit in a hurry and it was the closest clothing store (I don't shop at Walmarts). The lady that checked me out was great and she offered me the Kohl's card. At first I said no and then she said I would save an extra 30% off and it would only take a few minutes. So, at this point she and I are still in a dialogue so I think she was keen on that and so kept up with my concerns such as: "I don't want to have a credit card", "I just bought a house and don't want to overextend". What she did right was she realized I was paying for the purchase with cash and said that if I did get approved I could use the money and pay off the charge right away. Sold! Saved 30 extra bucks on that visit! I really also like the additional discounts that you get year round as a card holder. Had I said no repeatedly and she continued asking then I might have felt pushed. I think it's all about how you interact with the person and the tone of voice. read more

After several phone calls, emails and faxing in paperwork, I now have a C instead of a D. My account now shows delinquent for 1 day and shows that I had 1 missed payment, and that's after I worked to bring it to Transunion's and the other agency's attention. Kohl's credit sucks. DO NOT TAKE the bait when they offer you a discount. IT IS NOT WORTH THE RISK to your credit. My issues happened because of their buggy software and terrible customer service. I purchased many items online but opted for store pickup at this location. Some of the items I purchased had rebates. Was told at the store that they could not provide a receipt since items were ordered online. Told by Kohl's customer service that only the store can provide the necessary packing slips for the rebate since they were picked up. Terrible customer service from Kohl's. I will now have to make a second trip to return everything and repurchase in order to obtain a rebate. So much for the convenience of online shopping. Never again! I have shopped this Kohl's for 20 plus years. All the associates have been extremely helpful and polite. They have returned items I bought by mistake and smiled while doing so. I like the Kohl's east and west also, but this one is definitely my favorite. And believe me, I am quite the shopper.
