The store is well stocked and the staff is nice enough. But my review will focus on the Amazon returns, there is always someone there and no matter how many people are in the line I never wait longer than a few minutes. This Kohl's is well organized and well staffed. The store is always very clean and merchandised professionally. It seems that they have much more merchandise for the plus sizes than the regular size people. For the smaller sizes, there is often only one item available and it's usually not my size. The plus size department is so attractively displayed, that I often find myself in the wrong department. I certainly hope they will add to the petite section a wider range of items in a variety of sizes sooner than later. The housewares department has a great offering of bedding. The prices on their pillows and comforters are reasonable and the variety is good! read more

Today, I was trying on clothes and headed into an unlabelled dressing room when an associate began to yell to me that it was the men's dressing room and that I don't belong in there. First of all, don't yell. Second of all, you don't know how someone identifies. I am a woman and look like a woman. However, no need to accost someone. Again, this was not labelled anywhere. In addition, as someone with some mobility issues, the further dressing room is unnecessary. The doors go to the floor nearly. We can all conduct ourselves as adults. Kohl's, change your policy and have non-gendered dressing rooms and please educate your employees. I won't spend money in your stores again until you fix this. Also you sell Pride items. And still do this. No. A trans kid comes in and you could embarrass her/him? No. Do better. read more

Update: the manager finally got my item from another store and I had to go back again to pick it up. Some sort of compensation (coupon, anything) for not only my time, but aggravation, would have been appreciated but didn't happen. I ordered online and had to pickup item in store at this location. My pickup went very smoothly then there were hats and scarf on sale. Jen who assisted my order pickup assisted me with finding the scarf. Once I got home I realized what I purchased needed to be returned for an exchange I happened to call and Jen answered the phone she assisted me on how I needed to go about the exchange. Well, you really can't go wrong with Kohl's. I had so many points that my shopping was free today. I've been a Kohl's customer for years now and first learned about the store living in Minnesota. I enjoy shopping here. You can get a wide range of items for reasonable prices and the customer service is good. I really have no complaints. My name is Danielle Lucisano. I went to the Hamden Store to return items from an online order. I was told that is alright that I did not have tags on the merchandise and I just bring to the store and return it. When I got to the store, the customer service was having difficultly matching the skus with product. They called customer service and they said that they can't help because the system was down. The manager told associate to call back and see if they could resolve the issue. Associate called them and I spoke the customer service person and they said that they processed the return but were not able to credit my account and I had to call my bank. I called my bank and I had to make a claim against the transaction. I figured that I would call kohls customer service back and see if they would resolve it for me. They did not and told that I had to go back to the store and get a receipt. I explained to them that I gave the merchandise back to the store and can't get a receipt. So once I got of the phone with them, I called the Hamden store and told them what kohls customer service said to me and the manager told me that he has heard of that and it ridiculous. So I have made a formal complaint with Kohls and I am just looking to get my money back which is around 190.00 bucks. I returned to Hamden Kohls after about a 5 year absence due to a bad experience with a store associate. But on my return, I received excellent service from an associate who wasn't even supposed to be working in that department! And the cashiers were all wonderful! I returned a couple of days later, and found more friendly staff, both on the floor and at the front end. Prior to this, I once used the store Pick-Up Service during the pandemic. I again received excellent service with a smile, and there were no glitches in the process. Thank you, Kohl's, for hiring great staff! I will return! read more

I only shop at Kohl's if a 15% coupon has been emailed to me. On this occasion a few days ago, I had a "$10off gift, good on anything in the store." It was mailed to me. As I'm checking out the cashier hands it back to me after applying it, I said that's ok I don't need it. But it's still good she says. So at this point I kind of made her feel dumb and said, "Isn't it worth $10 one time only? You're saying I can come in everyday and take $10 off my purchase?" I've been shopping here for years and never had an issue until today. My boyfriend and I went to check out and there was no line. The cashier made us walk down to wear your supposed to wait in line but there was no line and she could've just taken us. Another customer just cut infront of us so I went to a different cashier. Again no line so I stood a couple of feet away from the register and when she called me she said next to wait in line. Ugh. How do I even start??? Basically the story is pretty simple. Needed a cute dress for a friends wedding, left with one. Got to the wedding, sat down, heard a loud thud. I know I did not gain THAT much weight to hear a loud noise :P Anyways, turns out the theft detection device was still attached!!! I had been walking around for close to 3 hours with it on, I was MORTIFIED. I was so upset. I couldn't bear to wear it anymore, so I went to the ladies room and took it off and it put a huge hole in it. I liked the hole better than the huge piece. It was in such an inconspicuous place, that is why from the get-go I couldn't see it! I went to bring it back and the woman was rude. She thought it was funny when i told her it was attached to me and people saw it. She giggled. I got a little mouthy with her when she said "well what you wanna do bout it?" I said I want a full refund, because this is not how a dress should look. She finally gave it to me and refunded my cash, but I was still mad. LOL I hope that my next experience is better. I used to come to this kohl's location when I was younger a few years back, but it's gone downhill since. While the store looks clear, I needed help and there were no associates. We waited in electronics for about 20 minutes and nobody showed up. So at that point I went to look for shoes and decided to go back to electronics afterwards to see if someone would walk by or something of the sort. Nobody came by. Then I decided to forget it, so I went to check out. The lady at the checkout was rude when I first got in line. Then when I came up to pay she asked if I had gotten to everything I wanted, and I mentioned electronics. She then asked if I'd like to go back and I was like sure why not! I went back to electronics after she pages someone, spent 15 minutes waiting, and nobody showed up. Extremely rude store. Won't be coming back. read more

This is my favorite location! The service here is SUPERLATIVE, especially from Jim, manager, Amy, manager, Roma, Cori, and Anna. Great fashions and designers at reasonable prices, and great values with Kohl's cash, coupons, sales, specials. What I buy lasts years, quality. Great merchandise, whether it's clothing or something else, such as home décor. The store is well organized and clean. I enjoy shopping at Kohl's , especially this location. Gosh, i love Kohl's so much I ended up signing up for their credit card. I mean think about it, the deals you get by just putting it on your charge card can save you an extra twenty percent. Sweet right? I went here the other day with the bf and we ended up getting 3 pairs of pants, a pair of swim shorts, and two shirts for $98.77! What a deal! We ended up saving $134 just because I used my charge card, well and because they were having a huge sale to begin with. Overall the store is always very tidy and well maintained. The lines are a bit slow though, do to lack of man power... damn economy. But other than that all the dressing rooms are clean and everything is put in the right places. Kohl's always has a good selection of clothes and home items. If you give them your e-mail address, they will e-mail coupons. So you never really have to go there without a coupon-usually 15% or 20% off the bill... This place was okay. The parking lot was the best part. It was huge. It was a bit difficult to get into and out of, but I can't hold that against the place, just wanted to point it out incase you ever plan on visiting it. The place was a disaster. Merchandise was hard to find, store was a bit messy, staff was everywhere and talking to each other but never once asked if I needed help, and ringing out was a slow process mostly due to the people infront of me having an issue with the ringing out process but they could have easily called one of the 6 people on the sales floor who seemed like they were doing nothing. If I didn't have a choice of another Kohl's in the area, it is worth shopping at for that one particular item, but I would not recommend making a special trip out here. read more

I love Kohl's and get all of my work clothes there. They have great prices and you get good deals on most items. But, this one is messy and often has Yankee Candle wall plug-ins out-of-stock. I went there a week ago for my husband. The men's section was so messy and disorganized. The rest of the store seemed okay though. The staff seemed a little unprofessional. Not all staff, but some, were venting or working in pairs talking loudly about personal things. I love the store, but this one needs a good cleaning. I prefer the Branford one. read more

I purchased a lawn chair online from Kohls on my Kohls account. I paid for the chair on my Kohls account. Kohls then changed the cost of the chair, changed my account to online billing only without my authorization nor knowledge and never sent ANY bill, neither online nor paper. Months later I received a phone call that my account was overdue. As far as I knew my account was paid in full and had not been used subsequent to the purchase of and payment for the chair. When I questionned why I had never received a bill Kohls response in writing was: "frontline associates do not have access to all of customer's statements." Then why are they calling people without information? If they had sent a bill I could have corrected their mistake months ago but THEY NEVER SENT A BILL. I want an explanation as to how it happened that a bill was never sent. I want my records corrected. I want a written apology, written confirmation that my account is closed and reimbursement for the money that I paid because of their error in not sending a bill. This entire mistake was made by their employees. read more

Ok, so this review is directly related to the girl at the watch and jewelry counter. I came in looking to purchase a watch band pin. They don't sell the pins individually, so she pulled out a repair kit, found the right size pin, AND installed it for me. All at no charge. I used to like this store but everytime I go there the shelves are a complete mess and all the sizes and styles are in the wrong spot. There are never enough registers open, ever. I went there today and had this robotic, impersonal cashier who had absolutely no people skills. I tried to joke with her but she was all business. Done with this store. read more
