I placed an order just a week ago for an in store pick up. Unfortunately, my item didn't get to me on time for a wedding I was attending. I decided to call the store and try and get my refund. I spoke to a new employee named Natalie. She gave me the wrong information and told me I needed wait for my order to arrive before I can receive my refund. Within 15-minutes of my phone call, I received a call back from Natalie informing me she made a mistake, apologized and processed my return. I celebrated Natalie for calling me and informed me she was wrong and would conduct my return over the phone, instead of waiting for it to arrive at the store, going in and processing my refund. I appreciate her acknowledging her mistake and taking the time to call me back. Most employees would have just left it and said "oh, well. She'll just get her money back when she comes into the store to pick it up." This is true customer service. We need more employees like this who do their job and will acknowledge their mistakes. read more

I like going to Kohl's but this Kohl's restroom was extremely dirty! There were a lot of employees and hardly any customers so they were able to go clean the restroom. The restroom stalls had no toilet paper. And when you wash your hands, there was no soap in the soap dispenser, INSTEAD they left the big bottle of soap on the middle of sinks...is it so hard to put it in the dispenser?!! Kohl's in Downey always gives me a headache. It can be disorganized. Rummaged through by inconsiderate morons. The clothes racks are so squished together sometimes that it just ticks me off... It takes a lot for me to get upset. I have no need for them anymore, but their maternity section was always lame. Don't go here thinking you'll get help away from the registers. I finally figured out one of the biggest culprits... the other customers. The majority of the people who shop at this Kohl's (not to mention Stonewood Mall) are decent I guess, but in the past I have noticed it's a hangout for teenagers after school. They go to the bed section, hang out, consume the free Wi-Fi, and gossip back there. Then there are fools who act like their shit don't stink. (Are these people Downey residents? If so...) Like today (10/13/14). I'm in line at the register near the elevator and some old chick comes walking up to the line blabbing on her phone. She ignores me and my double stroller with two babies in it. Cuts in front of us. And proceeds to talk on her phone until (who I assume is) her daughter joins her in line. Of course, the nice young lady at the register isn't going to say anything because she wasn't really aware of what happened or maybe she doesn't want to instigate anything... or maybe something else, but I tire easily of people and businesses who are not solution-oriented. But if only I was as brash and quick thinking in those situations as my husband... If this Kohl's figured out a way to make the lines form, that might help because this isn't the first time this has happened to me. But... they do have an elevator if you have a stroller. The fitting rooms do not require Kohl's employee assistance as they are generally left unlocked from my experience. If Kohl's didn't sell Vera Wang, decent flats, seasonal decor, and have such cool kitchen stuff, I probably would come to this location even less. Join the rewards program if you do shop here. I had to come in to drop off my Amazon Return. The process was very quick and efficient. I walked in and asked for the return desk and she directed me in a very friendly way. I walked over and saw several people in line and was concerned that it was going to be a very long wait. The woman at the desk was very prompt and efficient. Remind started to move. But then another person came over and made the line move very quickly. Next thing I know I am at the front of the line. She was very friendly, prompt and efficient. I was done in just a few minutes and happy as a clam. So I walked out the way I came. I saw a lot of good deals on clothes and actually bought a new shirt while I was there. Transaction was good. The store was clean, and organized. There were a bunch of sale racks because it was right after New Year's day. I found a shirt I liked and it was on sale - so I bought it. . I had never shopped at Kohl's. Apparently it's a discounting store just like Ross. I have shopped at Ross many times. And to be honest from my first impression I like Kohl's better. It seems like the quality of the merchandise is better and it's definitely cleaner and better organized than the Ross stores I have been to. read more

This Kohl's location had gone down hill. It is so dirty. Used 2 different dressing room locations one in the kids section, the door in the handicapped room hasn't locked ever! I usually just stand guard while my daughter tries her clothes on. The bench is full of stains the floor is disgusting. My daughter also tried clothes on in the junior section. As we entered the first dressing room stall she noticed there was something spilled on the floor we backed out, there was an employee hanging something up, I told her there is liquid on the floor in the stall she looks at me and says I know, I told her well you might want to close the door so nobody goes in there until it is cleaned, she just gave me a blank stare. The dressing room we went into was full of dust bunnies everywhere all over the floor and on top of the mirror. As we're walking to a register we hear somebody talking on the walkie talkies in the jewelry section that somebody slipped in the dressing room that I reported that the girl didn't care about....hope they're ok! read more

I'm only reviewing the Amazon drop off feature. The Amazon drop off feature is located inside the Kohl's on the right-side entrance of the store. You can enter this side through the parking lot in the back of the Stonewood Mall Center. This drop off feature is convenient because you don't have to repackage your items that you're returning to Amazon. The worker who took my items was okay, she didn't talk much but was patient for me to pull up the bar scan codes. You get a coupon for 25% to spend at Kohl's when you return items to Amazon. read more

I came here to return a package from amazon. And the process was really nice, as COVID-19 is happening, the workers were sanitizing the table every time a costumer return a package. There was a lot of clearance sale which was really nice, the clothing is new and well organized. Due to COVID-19, the fitting rooms were closed, which was quite disappointing, but it was for safety issues, so it was understandable. One thing that I dislike was how rude one of the workers was. I was planning to buy a diamond bracelet and the worker was helping, but the way she answer me when upon asking how to open the clasp of the bracelet, her tone was sounding angry and rude. In the end she did explain how to open it, but the way she was talking to me compared to how she was talking to a costumer before me, was really rude. read more

I called spoke with an associate forgot her name, gave her the specific name of the item I needed even spelled it out for her gave her the quart size specific color even spelled that as well. Anyhow, back to the store's review. Like many of the other reviews have stated, this place is extremely disorganized especially during the holidays. If you need help, you seriously have to go into your "hunting" mode because that's how it feels trying to flag an employee down. I also have to agree with Yelper Jenni M. in regards to their lines. So earlier today i had the most embarrassing moment of my life. As Daniel Lopez and i leave Kohl's in Downey Stonewood Center two lost prevention people took me to their security office. As im walkin back i can see people snapchatting and lookin like im a damn criminal. I felt so stupid. I was confused but they wouldnt let me leave. So as im sitting there in confusion the lady says just give us our merchandise and we'll let you go. I told them i have nothing on me. She insisted that she had me on camera stealing a candle that i put in my right pocket. I told her i can gladly empty out my pockets and she can search me everywhere. She said just give her her shit. She said im calling the police. I said ok be my guest. I told her where am i gonna hide it my dick? My asshole? And she chuckled and said i wouldnt doubt it. 45 mins later The girl finally walked her ass upstairs and sees exactly where i put the fuckin candle. Im sittin in the damn room with so much anxiety and i was having trouble breathing because the thought if getting arrested (even tho i know i was innocent, i dont like cops) so they finally let me go. I ask for their info and they didnt want to give it to me. I have everything recorded and i went to the police station to file a report for harrassment and false imprisonment. I got a lawyer. Soooo... Today is my second time here. The first time I bought some towels for my new apartment (ended up here only because I tried another that apparently didn't exist). The cashier was sooo helpful and nice... That's the one star. For some reason the receipt didn't print so the cashier called the managers office to see what happened. Apparently, the transaction didn't go thru in their system so the cashier was told to give me 15% off and ring me up again... Cool beans right?? Wrong. After the second time I check my bank account on my phone and both transactions went through!! So a manager was called downstairs to talk to me but her lazy ass didn't want to so she told the cashier to tell me to come back in a few days when/if the payment was officially posted and not just pending. I wasn't having that! She brought her @ss downstairs and all she could say was that I needed to come back if it was posted to my account so i could be refunded and there was nothing they could do at the moment bc it wasn't in the system!! Ugh!! So today I come back with copy of the statement as requested. I get a completely different manager who has no idea of the situation and he asks for the receipt that didn't print out :-/ Once I explain the whole situation again he takes my card to go check. After like 15 minutes of waiting, he comes back and says that it sometimes takes the bank a few days to update the system but they have no record of it so they can't give me my money back... Ok... So now my account is overdrawn, I'm not getting a refund, i spent probably at least $10 in gas (and much more in patience and time) trying to get to and from ur store, and ur telling me that the only solution may be to have the auditors involved??? Kohls is extremely overpriced so that when they mark 50% off it seems like an awfully big discount. This location was okay, but everything was in disarray, it just seems they haven't recouped from Black Friday - which is understandable but an older woman almost fell! Picked up an item I bought online at this Kohl's, today New Years Day since I figured it would be less customers at the store since is a holiday and I was right. Walked to Customer service counter, no employees were on the counter, there were two female employees near the counter area both gave me an elevator stair, very unpleasant and definitely No Customer service sense! One of them came to the counter gave me my item. I requested a bag for my clothing item and she gave it to me with an attitude. Really?? Its polyester fiber and wash instructions say gentle cycle lay flat dry, I did that and the madding inside still balled up, I'm so sad because this was the first 200.00 comforter I've ever bought myself. One day my husband went to get me some lipstick balms from burt's and bees, while I get in line to go in the Pink store to get me my necessities and be quick to be out of the mall especially with COVID. So tell me why I get a call saying that he was racially profiled, he was in line to pay for my lipsticks the second he put the lipsticks on the bottom of the phone to text me he's in line (yes that small gesture made him suspicious) the security or staff told him asked him if they can hold the item for him, he questioned them and they kept going at it, and he gave it to them until he was next to pay,so was he in line for no reason? , I mean I don't understand how people don't have common knowledge and how idiotic they can be. This is one of my least favorite Kohl's locations. Mostly because it is just small. They don't have the assortment that Lakewood or Cerritos has. So when I go to Kohl's I prefer to drive further to one of those locations. The women's shoe dept is horribly small. The store is always clean which is nice.
