I stopped by American Eagle at Stonewood Mall simply to pick up a keychain I had purchased about a week ago. What should have been a quick and easy visit turned into one of the most unprofessional retail experiences I've had. While I was waiting, my mom asked an employee who was folding clothes if the store carried any keychains. According to my mom, the employee responded in a way that came across as visibly annoyed and inconvenienced by such a simple question. My mom was upset enough by the interaction that she decided to let the manager know before leaving the store. What happened next was even more disappointing. Instead of handling the situation discreetly, the manager immediately spoke to the employee about the complaint in a way that was audible throughout the store. My partner and I were standing on opposite ends of the store and could hear both sides of the conversation. Since the employees were communicating over their headsets, it appeared that the entire staff could hear the discussion as well. To make matters worse, another employee chimed in and said, "Oh my God, she's so sensitive." Whether that comment was directed at my mom or made in reference to the situation, it was said within earshot of customers and was incredibly unprofessional. Customers should never have to listen to employees discussing or mocking complaints on the sales floor. A manager's responsibility is to deescalate situations and handle customer concerns with professionalism and discretion. This situation was handled in exactly the opposite way. Rather than making the customer feel heard, it created an uncomfortable atmosphere where staff openly discussed a complaint in front of other shoppers. Retail can be stressful, but basic courtesy and professionalism should still be expected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better coaching on how customer concerns should be handled moving forward. read more

What an unfriendly store. It's 12/4/25 I came to exchange a pair of jeans and to get a couple more. I can't even get a "hello" when I first entered the store & when I ask to use the fitting room I'm met with no response, just an indication to follow the store associate to the back. Had a terrible experience here. Bought my husband pants in January and less than 9 months later they have an enormous rip up the crotch. And i mean ENORMOUS (see photo). These are pants my husband wears for leisure and were sold to us as "Easy Flex", which we understood meant these pants could endure sitting, standing, and walking with no issue. Upon attempting an exchange, we were dismissed by a worker with a number for corporate customer support, the person on the line for customer support insisted that since it was outside the 60 day return window there was nothing they could do. I went back in to talk to the store manager as I was told that customer support would help us find a solution and clearly didnt, and the store manager insisted that there was no way they could accept the pants or give an exhange or credit addibg "then we would be out $60-70" to which I responded "well, WE are now out $60-70". They admitted there's no ownership or quality guarantee from the company past 30 days. Low quality items from American Eagle, terrible customer serive, no ownership if their quality. They have absolutely lost us as customers. Do NOT expect their products or people to support you. I could give them 0 stars I would. read more

This place charges $60 for jeans but cannot clean their fitting rooms. Clothes piled high on table near the rooms, and the room I went into had poop stains smeared on the walls. The floors were filthy as if no had swept or cleaned since before Covid. You would think they would be on top of cleaning and sanitizing... nope. read more

I don't understand why this place has so many negative reviews! I come shopping here all the time & everyone is so friendly and greeting you the moment you step inside the store! Amazing managers who make sure you know the sales that are happening, the selection of jeans and clearance they have, you have your cashiers and the associate in the fitting room writing your name in their little mirrors (how cute) and did you know they have an influencer in their store! A heavy set lady (idk her name) was sooo rude! She's like 50ish. I came in the store twice. The first time I bought a pair of pants that were on sale. When I walked in she only gave me a dirty look. After paying I went to other stores and found the same pair of pants but for cheaper so I figured I'd return the American eagle ones. When I come back in this heavy set lady is talking with two relatives and eating on the job, YUCK!! And another employee at the register helps me with the return. In the middle of that the heavy set lady just sticks her nose in and asks me a question in Spanish. It is very disrespectful to assume the language someone knows. I explained that I bought the pants today but changed my mind. She just said that I can't return them, without explaining why. I then speak up and say that it doesn't say final sale on the receipt and that there policy permits returns even on discounted items. She loudly and disrespectfully said "ok I'll do it for you this time"!! It's clear she just wanted to give me a hard time. I'm glad I got my refund (as I should have, not because she made an exception) but before this lady, I have never had such an experience. Hopefully corporate does something about this!!! read more

I don't really go into this store, but I thought I'd check it out today. They were having a 60% off items on sale. I'm not really into their clothes, but I do like their accessories. I ended up finding awesome packs of headbands that were originally $13. They were marked down to $7, and I got them for less than $3 for each pack. Yay! I took away a star, because there was only one sales associate on the floor - and she was behind the register. When I got in line, there were two people ahead of me, and there were people who wanted a fitting room. read more

I don't know why all of these reviews are negative... probably bitter people who have nothing better to do. I've been shopping here for over 2 years and I have never had an experience less than 5 stars. There is always someone at the front of the store ready to greet you. The store is always neat and everything is set by size. If you can't find what you need someone's always there to help. I can genuinely say today has been the best experience I had. I walked in looking for something to wear to a concert. I found what I was looking for and when I got to the register, Cori (sorry if I spelled it wrong :( !) offered to get my second pair jeans for 50% due to their sale. I declined and explained I was just using them for the concert. She suggested I check the online price so she can price match it. No one had ever given me that advice before. That just showed me the employees genuinely care and put themselves in your shoes. Thank you again girl ! read more

Used to be one of favorite AEO's around, but not anymore. I came in a couple weeks ago to return some online orders. The girl who was folding jeans, immediately calls on the walkie for back up bc I walked in with a large bag & she thought I was going to steal (which was just the clothes I was returning btw). I would never steal from any place, but that was their first strike. I go to the register to return my items & the girl who called the walkie rings me up. She then says cancel bc obvi I was not there to shop or steal. When she grabs the first item, she asked if I had washed it. I said I did because it was MAILED TO ME DIRTY, then she refuses to accept the return because they no longer accept items that have been washed. I CALL BS bc I've returned countless items to AE & NOWHERE on their return policy does it say items cannot be washed. AE's return policy says you can bring back ANY ITEM IN ANY CONDITION WHENEVER for a full refund as long as you have a receipt or order invoice. I politely agreed to whatever BS she told me, but I went to another AE to return it without any hassle or questions. And I will be shopping there now bc this one sucks. I will not be shopping at this particular store because they do not follow their own company's guidelines. read more

TERRIBLE CUTSOMER SERVICE AND TREATMENT!!! Do not come to this AE with any return unless you want to be treated like a criminal and belittled. I actually work at an AE store (i'm lead cashier). I was in the area for Christmas vacation and wanted to do an even exchange for a pair of jeans I had purchased for my dad. One manager told me that couldn't be done without an original receipt (I obvi didn't bring that on vacation with me) and when i told her I didn't have it she refused to ring it up as no receipt return and do the exchange for me. Meanwhile, the other manager took my ID and without explaining why she needed my name or identification called my store to make sure I was an actual worker there. That is protocol, however, the manner in which they did everything was rude and uncalled for. I have been working at my home store for over a year and we do even exchanges for customers even without a receipt (and for employees!!!) NO QUESTIONS ASKED. On a general shopper level nobody greeted us, helped us during our entire shopping experience, or let us know about the in-store promotions. If I could give this store no stars I would. COME ON GUYS as an employee for AE it sickens me that we allow customer service at our stores to be THIS POOR. read more
