When my favorite Indian restaurant closed in Yarmouth, I tried this restaurant. To my surprise, it was owned by the same people and that's fantastic. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for delicious authentic Indian cuisine. I want to start with: I have been trying to get my husband to try Indian food for TEN YEARS and now he's probably never going to because we waited an HOUR AND A HALF for food that never came. It took someone over 20 minutes to acknowledge us and even longer to come take our order. We had to flag someone down to get water after a half hour of sitting. We watched every table get food before we did. We waited 45 minutes and Eventually the waiter came over and told us there was a "glitch" in the Toast system and it didn't go through. Even though he typed the order at the table. He gave us a free mango lassi, which was good. He told us the food has been put in and my husband asked how long it would take and he said "five minutes" and 15 minutes later, still no food. So we left. I don't like to complain about restaurants and I try to only leave good reviews but this was seriously disappointing. Again, would have loved to try the food but an hour and a half wait is ridiculous. I don't know if y'all thought the fat chick at table 5 ordered too much food or what but we got tired of waiting. When our friend asked if we heard about the new Indian restaurant in Mashpee I was a tad skeptical because we always venture up to Quincy for our Indian food. We decided to try it last evening and we were pleasantly surprised-my chicken korma was perfect-tender dark meat surrounded by a medium spiced creamy korma sauce. My husband had chicken tikka masala and loved it. There was no need for containers-we ate everything! If you have never tried this cuisine I'd recommend going here-they have several layers of spice and the meals are terrific! It's light and airy inside and the staff is so welcoming. They are waiting for their liquor license so if you want a glass of wine or beer you can grab a bottle at the local package store. Otherwise, they offer typical Indian drinks. Generally recommended to call in for a reservation. We didn't know this since we were just visiting the area and they were the only thing around. That was a full service restaurant. The woman running the floor was absolutely impressive and efficient. She was on top of everything and was able to get a seated fairly quickly. That was much appreciated. However, once we got seated, it took forever to get served. I actually had to go up and ask if we could get a waiter. Totally forgot us. Which is quite surprising because it's a tiny place. This is BYOB also. I actually had to get up and go to another table to get utensils and napkins. By the time we got there, things were winding down for the evening, so maybe they're just too tired who knows. The food however, was very good. I did experience some chicken cartilage and bone in my meal, however. That may be a first for me in many years. I'm kind of mixed on whether I'd like this place or not. Food was decent not spectacular. Come in the door. The floor manager was excellent. After that things crashed. Needless to say it's clearly a popular place for the locals. read more

Excellent food at this new restaurant in Deer Crossing in Mashpee. Started with Samosa Chaat. Vegetarian samosas topped with chickpeas, yogurt and chutneys. So yummy. We also had garlic naan bread that was mouthwatering. Main course was lamb vindaloo with mango chutney....just the right amount of heat. Sparkling water accompanied our dinner. The upper Cape NEEDED a good Indian restaurant and this place delivers. Quality of food is exceptional. Staff is friendly and helpful. Portions were great lots of protein. Inside of restaurant is very clean and open nice ambiance. Loved that spice levels on all dishes were customizable. The tomatoe soup was surprisingly a favorite I will be craving and come back for the coconut makes it so creamy. Spice combinations were out of this world. The decor is nice. The food is actually quite good. No problem with either. The problem is the service. Our server did not write down our order, and we got an incorrect entree. The server actually asked us if we were mistaken with our order, like it was our fault. We said no. We had them exchange the incorrect entrée with the correct one. At the end of the meal, BOTH entrées were on the bill. I accidentally paid for both, and didn't realize it until the card payment went through. Thankfully, the manager refunded me in cash for the extra entrée that we did not order. The servers, at least on our night, needed to be trained better. Maybe try writing down the order instead of memorizing it, and not blame the customers for an incorrect order next time. Otherwise the food was good, but would order online rather than dine in. read more

I paid $26 for the Mutton Maratha, but the portion was about the same size as a kids' meal. There were only four pieces of goat in the dish, and three of them were mostly bone. The restaurant wasn't busy when we were there, but our water was never refilled during the entire meal. For $26, I was very disappointed with both the portion size and the service. Enjoyed the whole experience. While I miss Bangkok Cuisine that was at the same location, Kohinoor is a wonderful ethnic treasure as well. Not being very experienced at ordering or consuming Indian food our server did an outstanding job of schooling us on the choices on the menu and letting us know just about anything is at least "medium" spicy. Please don't even think about going to an Indian restaurant if you can't tolerate spicy. We enjoyed several kinds of dosa and naan breads and especially loved the biryani. I am absolutely obsessed with this new restaurant! I tried them their first week open and I find myself going 2-3 times a week (maybe more ). I love Indian food so it's nice to see something that's finally in my local area! I know that there are going to be a few hiccups when a new place is just opening so I don't mind because the service is amazing enough to make up for waiting a little extra for my food. And once I get whatever it is that I have ordered, the taste is so amazing that nothing else matters. This is an amazing new restaurant with a great staff who always make me feel welcome and I'm happy to have them in the Mashpee community. read more

Delicious meal! We stopped in for a late lunch and ordered Murgh Malaiwala and Mutton Maratha, both in medium spice. These are two of the Chef's specialties that we have never tried anywhere before. Both were excellent! The mutton was tender and we had never heard of the black coconut sauce, but we're so glad we ordered it. Both dishes had a unique blend of spices and subtle flavors that made them special and delicious. The portions were ample and the naan and mango lassi were both perfect. The restaurant itself has a nice vibe and pleasant decor. The service was great and we appreciated hearing about the origin of the dishes and restaurant. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes! We wanted to try the new Indian restaurant on the Cape. They were only open for a few weeks, so were quite disorganized with not enough help ,which is understandable for a new venture. Started with the superb lentil soup. Tried the tandoori roti bread which came out cold & dry. Next came the mix vegetable curry with about 12 pieces of overcooked veggies in a cup of curry sauce. We also ordered a shrimp dish which were 5 tasteless water logged shrimp in another cup of curry sauce. Except for the wonderful soup, the food was of a poorer quality and for $70, it was overpriced.
