Vegetable Soup
Clare C.

Came here for lunch on a Monday in February. I was able to secure a parking spot in the back but it was tight. Inside is very small with only about 5ish tables. I was able to get a seat and ordered off the lunch special menu. I ordered the pad see you with chicken for $12.95. It came with a vegetable soup that was simple but good on a colder day. The food and service was very quick. The pad see you did not have very much sauce. I enjoyed the noodles but wish there was more flavor to the dish. There were no spicy levels here and I wish there was. The lack of sauce made the dish feel a little bland.

Bangkok Kitchen has been my family's go-to hole-in-the-wall Thai spot for at least 20 years! The staff are so welcoming and this is the only place where my mom is a regular and she is recognized by absolutely everyone. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and they can prepare many of the items vegan (no egg no fish sauce etc.). I typically order a noodle dish (pad kee mao being my favorite) or a curry (green or yellow). And always, always some vegetable fresh rolls with a side of peanut sauce. The spice ratings can be somewhat inconsistent - I love spice so I always ask for my dishes to be spicy but that can range anywhere from "I can barely taste spice" to a bit of a kick. But sadly I rarely receive a dish on the upper end of the spice scale, which is what I am usually craving. Maybe I need to start ordering things "Thai spicy"! The space is small with only a few tables (quite cozy in the wintertime) so we usually order our food to-go. The thing I appreciate most is that the vegetables are plentiful and still have a good crispness to them (nothing sadder than mushy overcooked broccoli). This is our favorite Thai restaurant on the Cape!

The food is so good! I rate it a 6 out of 5 stars. The service is also so fast the food comes out in a nano second. It's so cozy in there I love it. It makes me feel so relaxed because the music is good also. Overall this is the cutest and most amazing restaurant. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone.

TIP: park across the street at the staples lot WHEN: Friday @ 6pm Hidden Thai gem in the heart of Cape. Hyannis!!! This is the spot if you want authentic Thai food. It's a very small restaurant, exterior is green color so you can hardly miss it. There are only like 1-2 parking spots in front of the restaurant. We parked across the street at the Staples lot. You know the spot is authentic when local Thai people gets takeouts there. The restaurant owners are a Thai family. The chef (owner) came out of the kitchen to greet some frequent diners. They were very outgoing and welcoming. Dining indoors gets pretty hot due to small restaurant space, and there aren't much air flow w the kitchen being so close to the dining area. There are about 10 tables inside. The server is excellent, she was attentive and accommodating to our needs. WHAT WE ORDERED Pad kra Pao x2 We ordered seconds bc it was THIS GOOD!! This simple pork dish blew my mind!!! It was cheap and friggin delicious with so many different flavors. Only costs $15/ plate. Worth it for the value. I can eat it for days Panang curry The curry was way too watery. It had a lot more sauce than the veggies. I wasn't used to this liquified curry. Tom kha gai soup Very strong coconut flavors and the chicken was cooked very tender. My sister liked this dish since she's on soft food diet. The total came out to be around $60 for 4 entrees which is not bad at all considering it's the cape. I'd totally go back for more Thai food if I vacation again at the cape. Thank you for an amazing dining experience!!

Chicken curry. Flavorless and tough rubbery chicken. 1/5 stars.

I seek out the small, mom and pop owned restaurants...especially this one as my husband and I had such fond memories of this place during our honeymoon 20 years ago. The food was super bland. The Tom kha gai was like slurping a warm coconut water with a slight lime flavor. The green curry was watery and was lacking any curry paste. The chicken was slightly tough and vegetables were bland. The best item was the crab fried rice and I'd give that one 2.5/5 stars. I am super puzzled by the 4.5 star rating and wonder if ownership changed recently?

Whole fish sweet and spicy sauce, Delicious !!!

Authentic Thai cuisine. Fresh and Delicious food .Great and friendly service! A must try !!!

Very tasty and fast. Service was attentive. Dining room is small but we were able to sit right down before the dinner rush.

Worst experience in a Thai restaurant-owner was rude and food is meh. We had high hopes based on the good review but it was disappointing.

Best thai food on the cape. Priced reasonably and cooked to order. Parking is difficult I would suggest parking accross the street.

Very good attitude and having tasty food!!! Best Chinese restaurant in Cape. I will give 10 stars…read moreif I can :)))) Worth the money!

Mind you granniehudsoneatsout is reviewing based on 2 things! I just moved here from Hudson,…read moreleaving my Lotus Blossom in Sudbury behind... WAAA, BAWL, WAIL. Walked out of a fantastic yoga class at Centerville Yoga and went over to find an eggroll. After reading all the reviews, I figured, what could the harm be. Let's try the eggroll and take it from there. Many years (1980's) there was a Chinese restaurant in Shrewsbury, before it was the gross Chumlees (defunct, THANK GOODNESS!). They had THE BEST eggrolls I had ever had. As much as I love Lotus Blossom, their eggrolls are good, but never THOSE. So, I walk into GHZR and ask for a large order (=2) eggrolls. And steamed peking ravioli (AH HOW I MISS MARLBOROUGHS China Taste, an unfortunate victim of Covid, who had ALMOST perfect eggrolls and the best peking ravioli, the ones my toddler grew into a teen eating...). One of the owners was so cute when she said "Our eggrolls are ok. Eggrolls are one of those things that people have one they love and then they get that one stuck in their heads forever. And our peking ravioli are good, but maybe not the best you've had. I will give you the best ginger sauce. Mine is better than my uncles!"... Out came my order to go and out I went. Into the car. Hungry. Pulled it out. Munched on it. AND ANGELS SANG! What are you talking about girl? YOU GOT IT NAILED! If I eat nothing else from your place, it will only be eggrolls and you will still get a 5 star review from me. NAILED IT. Ravioli? Meaty, not salty, doughy, and delicious. I think I found my new Chinese crave joint, only 6 minutes from my house! REDEMPTION for moving so dang far away from my always Hudson. THANK YOU GUYS!

Surprisingly enough this mom and pop place is actually pretty good! Definitely come here! The…read moreservice was great. Greeted with a friendly smile when walking in and our server was so fun to talk to. We ordered Pork Ramen which was very good. I was worried it would be salty which ramen usually are but this was just right. We had a delicious Poke bowl. Fresh and hearty. To finish it off we had the Unagi. I really liked this little place. It is a local spot and we're glad we came by as we're visiting the area.

After reading these reviews I feel like I went to a different restaurant than most other Yelpers…read more.. The standalone restaurant itself is quaint, with the indoor ambiance mediocre at best. There is plenty of seating and we were greeted upon entry. We ordered General Tao Chicken and Hibachi Chicken both w/white rice. While the General Tao was pretty good, the Hibachi Chicken was not. It looked tasty, but came in some sort of sauce that had a bizarre smell and taste that was hard to explain, and 2 random shrimp (that I didn't order and don't believe was included but I did appreciate!). Still, definitely not like any sort of Hibachi I've ever had, and not in a good way. After sending the meal back, I ordered a Calamari which was tasty, and came with a side sweet chili dipping sauce. PROS: - Location is easy to find - Good sized menu - Server was kind - Food taste (of the one item I had) CONS: - Ambiance could use some love - Food taste (of the one item I had) I always have a hard time returning to places in which I had a less-than-decent experience. So while I encourage everyone to try most places for themselves, I can say that for me this one was a one-and-done.
