This place is great. I found Koffee Sutra when I began working in Issaquah almost five years ago. I've had their Caffè Americano, hot chocolate, iced mocha, and chai- all consistently wonderful, just like the service. Living in Seattle, I've had some great coffee but this is actually some of the best I've ever had. This espresso drive thru goes out of its way all the time. In fact, this evening I had a long wait for the bus and walked over to Koffee Sutra in hope of getting some hot chocolate and a bagel to stay warm at the bus stop. Right as the barista opened the windows for me, I noticed the sign with their hours which indicated that they had already closed for the night. I said that I didn't realize they were closed and started to walk away but the barista (who I'm pretty sure is actually the owner) said she'd be happy to make something for me. She said she couldn't make everything on the menu but recited a long list of choices. When she made my hot chocolate, she paused before telling me she was going to add a little toasted marshmallow flavor. She just said it was really good- it was a nice touch, and it really made the drink. I usually pay in cash since this is a small business and it's true that there is a small transaction fee for credit card purchases less than $5 that gets passed on to the customer. The frequent customer card is great though- getting a free drink after 10 purchases more than makes up for the odd times I don't have cash and end up paying the transaction fee. Plus, I buy 8 oz drinks and sometimes they've given me a larger sized freebie drink, which is a nice treat. Koffee Sutra is a perk of commuting to the Eastside. read more

The coffee is great. Unfortunately, today I sat in line for almost 20 minutes! And there were only two cars! It was also unfortunate that even though they have a specified drive through lane, people cut through the parking lot to cut off the line. Love the people here and the coffee but efficiency needs some major work. I want to continue to be a regular here but I just don't have 15-20 minutes each day to sit in line. read more

Your experience here will vary greatly biased on who your barista is. Most of the girls here are great conversation and friendly. There's one girl who shouldn't be a barista at all. Drinks are priced moderately and if you come any time other than the morning rush it'll be quick. In the morning you have to be patient as everyone wants their coffee and the barista is working her butt off! A cute shop and I'm always happy for more coffee shops in the area that aren't starbucks. read more

Koffee Sutra is conveniently located and serves mediocre espresso. Frequently while visiting this coffee stand I have received cold lattes and even chillier service. On my last, and I must say, FINAL visit the Batista took it upon herself to confront me about the last tip that I gave her. Apparently, she became accustom to me leaving her a dollar each time I came through (despite being charged 35 cents illegally for using a Visa/mastercard) and was "insulted" by my ten cent tip. the last time I checked tips were not required, and after frequenting this coffee stand for four years and leaving a DOLLAR each time I visited I was shocked and offended by her interaction with me. Small businesses should take note: treat your customers with kindness and respect and they will come back. Treat them poorly and they will tell everyone they know, and write about it on yelp. read more

I haven't been to this stand very many times, and I'd honestly like to keep it that way. The coffee is ok, when I do get what I've come to order. There have been occasions where I'm told they do not have the ingredients to make a specific drink. Irritating. There was one instance though where I was put-off enough to never come back. I ordered my drink, a flavored latte, and was continuing to read the menu of baked goods they have at the window when I came across a french toast bagel. Well I had only stopped by for my drink this sounded too good to pass up so I asked the blonde girl working if I could also have a toasted bagel. She said yes, but then continued in a less then desirable tone that next time I wanted to a bagel to order if first because it holds up the line of cars. I almost didn't know what to say, I sputtered out an ok and got out of there as quick as I could. Ultimately, the products were average, but the fact that the barista made me feel like an inconvience to her was not ok. I am a paying customer, you are a barista. Toasting bagels and doing to with a smile is your job. End of story. read more

Yet another drive thru that gets away with serving bad coffee from a good looking barista. If you get an espresso or Americano it's completely burned tasting. Either their espresso machine temperature is set too high or the grind is not fine enough. If you add a ton of sugar to your drinks it probably doesn't matter. read more

I drink a lot of coffee, and I've been to MANY coffee places. This place hands down makes the best coffee I've ever had! Their vanilla lates are seriously the best ever!!!!! I have been going here for about four years and I can say their coffee is great. I am an Americano or Iced Coffee drinker, so I don't explore too many other options. I was a barista for years at Starbucks, and the coffee Koffee Sutra uses is quality. I will say that I do not like the syrup that they use - it has an aftertaste I can't quite get on with. Another quaint little drive-thru coffee place!The eggnog latte was just right - creamy but not too sweet, hot without burning the tongue. The barista was very cheerful and quick as well. We didn't try any of the foods but by the looks of their menu, they had just about everything - 5-6 kinds of bagels, muffin tops, cookies, breakfast sandwiches (including a vegetarian one!). I love espresso drive-thrus and try new ones every chance I get. I saw Koffee Sutra after visiting the furniture store kitty corner to it and was greeted warmly by the barista (also the owner). My pumpkin spice was delish. There was a great balance between the pumpkin flavor and coffee. 100% organic, fair trade coffee also helps :) The pastries were also excellent. I had a frosted maple cookie from a different merchant (I forget the name) which was so good I had to keep myself from eating all of it (it was intended for my daughter). Her pumpkin loaf was excellent as well. Glad this drive-thru is on the way to my son's preschool. Will be visiting more for sure. read more

My favorite place to get coffee out of all the places I've visited in Western Washington. I always make it a point to stop here on my way to work (which is very far away) because they have THE BEST coffee. They also use a lot of homemade ingredients, which means that it is one of the only coffee shops where I can have a flavored coffee that I'm not allergic to!! Kelly has always been helpful when it comes to letting me know what ingredients are in which of her foods, and she's always been correct. Just moved to Issaquah from Seattle and the local Starbucks drive thru was painfully slow. Koffee Sutra is close to where I live, so I decided to give it a try. I have to say that I am glad I did. Their coffee is very good, but I have to say that the customer service is where this place really shines. I have only been there a few times and they already know me by name and what I like to drink. It's a wonderful way to start the morning and even makes the morning slog up 405 a bit more tolerable. read more

I am visiting and have gone to this little coffee stand 4 times during my trip and had a great experience each time. The baristas are friendly and the lattes have been good each time. I will say that the first latte far exceeded the subsequent ones (though they were all good) and one of the baristas was on the phone and another was chatting with a friend on two of the visits but the prices are great, they're fast, the espresso is pretty good and I obviously liked it enough to keep going back. I'm sure I'd be a regular if I lived here. :) read more

Honestly the worst latte I've ever had. I went around 7:00 am during the week, and ordered a latte with coconut milk. First off, there was absolutely ZERO foam, and the barista left the espresso shots sitting before pouring them (which ruins the shot). Not only did the drink taste weak, but to my surprise there was a giant lump of grinds and some other mixture that floated to the bottom of my cup which I discovered once pouring my drink out. Save your money for somewhere else-not worth the over priced drinks. read more

I love lattes and try to taste one from every stand I come across. I have been hooked on Koffee Sutra's White Chocolate Mochas to the extent that I can't even ask for a different flavor. They have a menu with all kinds of tantalizing combinations but the delicate toffee-like flavor in their White Chocolate Mocha is so incredible I can't bring myself to try anything else. The baristas are all super friendly and they always make my order really fast...the latte is smooth, hot and wonderful and I'm so grateful they're on my way to work. Although the coffee is incredible, I found the service to be appalling by a person that I found out was the owner. The posted hours are a joke & re-used unprompted daily tardy excuses only revealed her lack of intelligence & concern for the customer experience. The prices fluctuated, getting change was up to the owner's discretion & if you question her about it, she simply sends you away. The experience was one similar to an ugly stripper. read more

I will never come back to this coffee stand after the rude service that I received today. I pulled up and ordered an almond latte with coconut milk. I then mentioned that I have allergies and asked if the steam wand could be cleaned and the milk be steamed in a clean container. The barista with straight long dark hair that was working said sure and continued to make the drink. When she handed it to me she said "here is your almond soy latte." I asked "what kind of milk did you say was in here?" She said "soy" and I politely said "oh I'm so sorry but I'm allergic to soy and I can't drink this, I ordered coconut milk." It was then that the barista became VERY RUDE! She snapped "YOU DEFINITELY SAID SOY AND I READ IT BACK TO YOU (she didn't) - NEXT TIME ORDER CORRECTLY AND LISTEN WHEN I READ IT BACK TO YOU! I said "I'm sorry I must not have heard you when you read it back." She snapped "yup!!" And angrily remade my drink. I even said "I apologize for the miscommunication thank you for remaking my drink" and she angrily said "mmmm hmm" and handed me my drink. I drove away and thought that it was very rude of her to yell because of a simple mix up - on whoevers side... So I parked the car and walked over to get the managers name and number. I walk up to the window and she says "what do you want?" And I simply said "I'm just wondering if I could get your managers name and number" she then says "I am the owner!! Lady you were being obnoxious and rude now go away and get a life!" Then when I walked away in front of other customers she was mimicking me saying in an annoyed tone "can I get your managers name and number?" (Very childish) In no part of our conversations was I being rude - I just asked her to remake the drink. If she is indeed the owner - she does not seem to have much experience in customer service and judging by her behavior I highly doubt that she is the owner. So to the real owner - this was the barista working the morning of 06/13. read more
