First of all the vibe of the cafe is beautiful but the vibes of the employees are so much better. I loved talking to the workers and they were so sweet. This is the type of humble cafe where they don't try to market themselves and they play vinyls for music. I got the Makiki Oolong tea and they gave me samples of the lehua honey. The workers are nice and know how to customer service good. It's just that I got a drink for 9 dollars that ended up being the smallest size possible you can get those coffee cups in, didn't realize there's no espresso in the drink, drank it still extremely tired, and I am a person who is extremely sensitive to hardly any caffeine. Obviously hardly any in this drink. And it all turned to sludge after sitting for 20 minutes. Was thick and gross. Tasted good enough originally but was a huge disappointment for my 9 dollars. I do not understand how this place has such a high rating and reviews. Great coffee selection and unique souvenirs. I tried their mocha with a roasted marshmallow on top. The mocha by itself was good, however the marshmallow was so burnt that the char just floated everywhere in the drink and ruined the flavor. Brian was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the coffee, and super friendly. He helped us pick a coffee, and it was amazing! I normally drink coffee with half and half, but the cup that Brain brewed was perfect straight black - it would have felt wrong to add anything to the coffee he brewed up. We bought some sipping chocolate mix to take back home and he made sure to make a small sample so we'd know how to make it. Bonus points for the vinyl playing in the corner. read more
