So I am one of those coffee snobs. The base is that the place should be clean. Next friendly Hot coffee I don't as much. You should not have to. The coffee beans should speak, smell and taste to you. A plus with this coffee shop is they have a relationship with the sushi rolls and bowls next to it. You can actually order using your camera feature on your phone. Make a sushi order and have it delivered right to your table. Come here much better coffee than other local places

Is this your large? Cup is large, liquid more like a regular or even less.

Ordered a large latte. This is what I got. Glad I took the lid off. Plus top inch is whipped cream. Sad. Won't come back. Stars for taste only. Spoke to the girl at the counter. She tried to say the liquid was higher and then cream on top. Lost one star. Customer service sucks.

I've been coming here when they first opened during the pandemic. Customer service has always been awesome - even at the height of the pandemic, the staff was always courteous, authentic and just good people. The coffee is tasty, furniture is comfortable, prices are reasonable, WiFi is good and overall great cafe. I've hit up all the coffeeshop on Hilo side and Kohala Coffee is top notch.

So cool! They have so many options! I wanted to try their coffee, teas, lemonades, white hot chocolate, but I was only able to go once during my stay in Pahoa. I ended up with the chai tea latte which was very good. The drive thru is open so it's safer!

    Waiting to order.

We got the honey lavender and s'mores cold brew. Honey lavender taste exactly what it sounds haha. It's good. The staff here are super personable and nice. Although, the coffee isn't that strong. Kinda taste watered down.

I was in such a rush today that I didn't notice when the drive thru barista handed me a large latte that was only 2/3 full. This place charges WAY too much money for a large latte to be handing their customers a drink that is practically half empty already.

First time visiting this cute coffee shop. It's new in Pahoa and the ladies working while I visited were friendly. Seems like a great place to grab something to drink and meet up with friends.

His and hers coffee before heading down to the garden.

Great frappes! When traveling we still need our coffee fix, and Kohala Coffee delivers. Dutch Starbucks and enjoy a real treat.

The fish is consistently fresh, perfectly cooked, and incredibly ono, especially the mahi, which somehow manages to be tender, flavorful, and satisfying every single time. What really sets this place apart is the unique way they prepare the fish. It's simple, honest, and done right no gimmicks, just skill, care, and respect for good ingredients. You can taste the experience and the love in every bite. This is the kind of food that makes you stop talking for a second because you're too busy enjoying it. And let's talk about the French fries, because they deserve their own shout-out. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, perfectly seasoned absolute comfort food perfection. Paired with the fish, it's a combo that never misses. The vibe at Pāhoa Fresh Fish is just as good as the food. It's friendly, down-to-earth, welcoming, and full of aloha. The people working there are kind, relaxed, and genuinely happy to see you. It feels like a place made for the community, not just another stop to grab food. This spot creates a lot of happy, happy people. You see it in the smiles, the satisfied silence at the tables, and the way folks keep coming back again and again. We're incredibly lucky to have a place like this in our town a place that feeds people well, lifts spirits, and brings a little extra joy into everyday life. The place is packed but you find a seat and listen to the laughter, singing, and sizzles from the kitchen. It's small and bundles of fruit seam to just be around everywhere. Your server gives you a menu and you think. "Oh wow! That's a bit pricy." But you're all in. Considering this place is proud of its farm to table reputation. Yes, nothing goes to waist here and it as fresh as you can possibly get. So you order and wait. And you wait, and you wait. Finally the plate arrives and it's beautiful. A paradise of fruit, veggie filled omelet and some things you're not sure if you can eat them or if it's just decoration. (You can eat them) Have you ever heard of a cranberry hibiscus? I'm not a fan of salsa with my eggs but they make their own from scratch and they also sell it. So I have to at least try it. "What is in this! Magic?" Before you know it a whole days life experience has just happened. There were ups, there were downs, and surprises. Not just from the food but the whole surroundings. Let's just say nothing was left on the plate and I have stories to tell. Our server was the sweetest older lady who you can tell just loved her job and people. In fact all the workers were just rays of sunshine and smiles. Did I just have breakfast or walk into a magical world where time stood still and surrounded me in song and colors. I swear I don't do substances, it's just that good.
