My favorite part about Homegrown is how everything is chopped up and tossed together so perfectly, with the dressing lightly coating every bite. Honestly, how nice would it be to have someone make a salad like this for me regularly?! The only drawback is the price. My bowl was ~$20, which felt a little steep for a salad. That said, it was fresh, filling, and really well prepared.

The pizza pies looked pretty good so maybe I'll try that on my next visit. I have never seen this many ingredients available for a salad. You go down the line & tell them what to add. When ready they then chop it with a giant knife & then move on to your choice of toppings & dressings, etc. There are also items you can add ( mostly proteins) at an extra cost but felt I had enough with the standard options. After that it was all downhill. Entered to a slightly busy restaurant. Told to take any seat I did and was immediately surprised that the table was very wet and sticky. The cashier/server said "oh I just wiped that down " and handed me a menu. I sat there reading the menu. After a few minutes I put the menu down. The table was dry and guess what? Sticky. No problem just got up and moved to a new table. Ordered my food. Got to sit next to the cashier who pretty much was just flipping pages on his phone. Seated next to me was a delivery driver who was watching videos on his phone with the volume turned up. Ordered egg rolls, spring rolls, Anchi's Combo Sandwich. The egg rolls were tasty but tiny. I mean tiny. I get these at Vietnamese restaurants all the time and these are small the peanut sauce was meh. Next came the spring rolls or should I almost Spring rolls . On the smaller side with a fresh wrap. Only it was 80% shredded lettuce, 10% noodles and the smallest split shrimp. Nothing else! Not a slivered of carrot or cucumber or a touch of mint and or basil. Which means there's NO flavor.Even the dipping sauce was boring. Okay the sandwich has to be good I've never had a bad one. Until now. It came out oozing with what I'd called "buttery mayo" which it may have been but it drenched the sandwich and made it a sticky mess. Sticky now (I understand the table.) Most of the ingredients were sliced into tiny slivers even the meat. I was so disappointed in the whole experience. Did I say something no I never saw the "server" again at the table. But I could see him flipping through his phone nonstop during my entire visit. Oh and to top it off the driver had laid his head on his arm while his phone was still on an he was asleep. So after having to get up and ask for my check. After which time I was told to walk around to the cashier counter (I kid you not.) My 1 and only visit ended.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was able to order breakfast at a restaurant. While visiting Buffalo with my boyfriend in November 2025, his college friend spent the morning taking us to several restaurants trying to find a place where I could safely eat. After striking out everywhere else, Betty's was our last stop--and what a blessing it was! Alice, our host, was warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure my food allergies were handled safely. I was able to order a bacon, "egg" and avocado sandwich made to accommodate my allergies, and it was incredible. I hadn't enjoyed a breakfast sandwich from a restaurant in over a decade! It was so delicious that I went back again before leaving Buffalo and even ordered another sandwich to take home. For anyone living with food allergies, you know how rare it is to find a restaurant that truly understands safe food preparation while still serving amazing food. I'm from New York City, and I still haven't found a place that compares. 1,000 stars! I can't recommend Betty's highly enough.
