Hands down, Fae is the best masseuse I have ever had. First of all, every single move she makes is made with intention. Fae doesn't just go through the motions like other masseuses. Fae has has an unmatched intuition and is thoughtfully responding to my body throughout the entire 90-minute massage. Most importantly, the benefits I've experienced are tangible and immediate. After my first massage I was shocked. I realized there was pain all over my body for years that I didn't even know I had, because I had simply accepted it due to being there for so long. Because of Fae, the pain completely disappeared and my mobility increased massively. After my second massage with Fae, she managed to open up my lungs, causing my breathing to completely clear up. One of the best massages I've ever had! I've gotten many professional massages in my day, but this is one the best ones. As a work-from-home-gargoyle, I spend countless hours hunched over my computer screen. Due to this high stress work, I get lots of knots pretty regularly which sometimes cause migraines and pretty severe pain. Knotted Release has been a god send! Beware. Location and experience not as advertised. Over many years of receiving massage services, this was the least relaxing. Location was not the same as depicted on the Knotted Release website. Instead of a private studio, this was in Fae's apartment, which is cluttered and cold. No instructions were provided on how to find the location, and no effort was given to set expectations. I was also startled by a loudly barking dog in the bedroom, and possibly people as well. Payment was expected upon completion by Venmo, but no receipt was given. Even after several weeks of requesting via various methods, no response or receipt was provided. Although Fae has strong hands, overall this was a poor and unprofessional experience and will not repeat this again. read more

I've had many different massages in different settings over the years and can honestly say Fae is one of the best. She is incredibly strong and able to go very deep if needed. I started seeing her after a hip surgery when my recovery stalled and my hip grew extremely tight and sore. I'd never had the sort of active release Fae uses, and was nervous about damaging the repair. I had no need to worry - she knows what she is doing! I've seen improvement in the hip, and actually some relief with other nagging areas that any aging athlete will deal with. This is not a spa, so don't expect a fluffy robe or herbal tea. This is a place to go for actual results. I love that my investment goes directly to my practitioner rather than some big company and feel comfortable in this space. I love deep tissue massage and intense bodywork. Most times that I've gone to a massage therapist, I eventually had to spend valuable time encouraging them to believe that they could work deeper and more intensely in my problem areas. Kristine listens, perceives and responds. I've been to her twice now and it's been a intense but blissful experience each time. She really cares about and enjoys her work and is very pleasant to be around and visibly delighted when she gets feedback that she is doing something that makes a difference. I had my first appointment at Knotted Release a few days ago on my birthday as a treat to myself. Fae is a very talented masseuse. My body felt great afterwards. I had a bit of difficulty finding the location, but I found it eventually (Apple Maps gave me the wrong address). The only reason I am giving 3 starts is because I felt sort of belittled by Fae. I'm not sure if it was just a mismatch in personality, but she made me feel small multiple times throughout the massage. For instance, she asked me how long I've had headaches. I mentioned that I hadn't had a headache in a couple of days, and before she gave me a chance to completely answer the question, she interrupted by saying "I asked you how long you've had them." Another time, she pulled on my ankle and just said "pain or pull?" I assumed that she was asking if it hurt or pulled anywhere, so I just said no. She asked again, more curtly, and I said no again. She then seemed annoyed and explained that she wanted me to tell her if it hurt or if I could just feel her pulling on my ankle. I'd never had anyone do that before, so I didn't know. These are just two instances of multiple occurrences, to the point that I didn't even want to talk anymore. Even though the massage felt great, I kept wanting it to end because I felt so uncomfortable. I don't know if she was annoyed because I got lost and was a little late (I didn't ask her to go overtime and paid her in full) or maybe she was just having a bad day. I don't feel that my experience should necessarily deter anyone from Knotted Release, but I felt that I should share. read more

I have had a lot of massages in my life-some that were catered towards relaxation (like at a hotel spa on vacation) and some have been for pain and were covered by insurance. All to be said, I have had a lot and have become pretty picky about my masseuses. Fae blew me away with her approach! I got everything I needed along with some really incredible surprises! She used techniques that had never been done before and was able to locate pain that I didn't even know I had. I immediately booked a follow up with her and will see her monthly (I would do biweekly if I could!) She is amazing, gifted, kind, and welcoming with a great sense of humor. All my experiences previously with massage have been horrible. Straight up really bad and I was hesitant to try it again but I am glad I did. After an injury to my shoulders and right arm from repetitive motion I came to Kristine on a referral from a friend. What a complete 180 from all my previous history. Kristine took time to understand what was going on and explain what and how she does. This continued throughout the sessions in the form of checking in and making sure that I was comfortable with the pressure.
