Pros -Great and creative concept ! I love the concept of wine and charcuterie in a dining establishment - Parking was easily accessible from the restaurant - Friendly service Cons -Portions were small -Lacked ambiance

Cute little spot in Midtown to enjoy a glass or two of wine and light bites. The customer service was great and I really enjoyed myself. I ordered the "Wine Flight" Sweet Dreams and my favorite out of the three was the Brachetto. I also ordered the Riesling and it was the perfect finishing touch. For food, I ordered the Flight of Bruschetta (tomato, prosciutto, and brie and fruit). The tomato and prosciutto was really good but I didn't care for the brie and fruit. I also sampled the board my friend ordered and everything on there was good. Overall, I would come back to try out more of the wines and other food options.

Sweeter version of a Manhattan made for me - 10/10
    Kevin K.

10/10 every time I've gone - it's as simple as that! They know how to make for a unique experience each time, and that's not just because the drinks are great, but rather the service is superb each time. I love asking for suggestions here because they are always thoughtful and personalized to your taste. During my last visit, I had their sweeter version of a Manhattan (see picture), and it might be one of my favorite drinks I've had in this city. We also got a charcuterie board for the first time as well, and it was pretty solid, though I would have expected it to be a bit more robust, given the price. Nonetheless, this is a solid spot for a great happy hour, pre- or post-dinner drink, and a great one to add to the lineup!

5 stars every time. I come here when I visit from Atlanta for Happy Hour with my mother. Best service, best crafted cocktails and awesome charcuterie and small plate selections. I am not a wine lover, so the "extra fancy" bubbly flight is right up my alley. The deviled eggs, Mediterranean Board and Brie & Fruit are my favorites, but honestly you can blind select or ask for suggestions and be 100% satisfied with your experience!

My friend suggested we go here on our little outing on a Monday night. I LOVE the ambiance. This place is so cool and chill. Just my style. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but we did make a reservation in advance just in case. Our waitress was super sweet, helpful and knowledgeable, which made ordering a breeze. My friend had been here before so she knew which wine she wanted and went with a glass of that. I ordered the "sweet dreams" flight. My favorite of the three was the moscato, but the brachetto was a really close second! To share we ordered nick's deviled eggs, a small house board, and garlic and herb cheese spread. We each also ordered a bruschetta. I had the pesto rosso and she had the caprese. Honestly, I felt like everything was very good. The atmosphere really set the mood and made it that much better. I'm so looking forward to my next visit.

Great ambience. Perfect place for date nights. The wine is not Napa Valley wine, but it's the vibe that matters. We all got a flight of wine (reds, whites, and rosé). Each glass has a generous pour and the price for each flight was in the 20s. Highly recommend if you want to be bougie on a budget and also looking for a great date spot.

Recently I was able to visit one of my favorite wine bars for a little girl time and Happy Hour! I've been going to knifebird winebar since they opened in 2018 and I have no clue why I'm just posting about them. Smh Anywho, knifebird is the perfect spot for those of us who like tp try different wines, learn more about them, charcuterie boards, or looking for a nice chilled yet sophisticated atmosphere! It's chic and modern design also makes it the go to spot for when you're trying to be cute and get some nice pictures or have a date! It's versatile and always a great experience for me! They have really good customer service and their staff is always so knowledgeable! On my most recent visit we had the pleasure of having Maggie as our bartender and server and she was the sweetest! Knifebird is located in the Cooper Young area in the same lot as Urban Outfitters and has Happy Hour every Monday through Saturday! If you haven't been I definitely recommend! The only warning I will give is that if you're looking to have a meal do that before you come as most of their bites accompany the wine selection. Also, they usually have a full house so just to be safe make reservations before you go! Happy Hour is every Mon - Sat from 4 to 6 and includes: $6 house wines $24 Bottles of house wines $9 wine flights $8 cocktail special (cocktail rotates so ask for special) $8 afternoon spritz $3 beer of the week $34 house special (1bottle and medium charcuterie board included)

Wanted to added some pictures for my current review. It has not changed. The food and drinks are fantastic.

Perfect date spot! Solid mood lighting with excellent service and overall great vibes. Went there for the happy hour special which is a steal in my opinion. $34 for a bottle of house wine and medium house board is hard to beat! We got a white wine, which was medium sweet. It paired very well with the cheese and chocolate board. Overall, i would recommend trying out this wine bar.

I came here for a birthday celebration & this place was great especially if you're a small plate & charcuterie board types of person! If you're looking for heavier food consider this pregame before dinner or after dinner. The atmosphere is very chill and laid back. They have so many board options to choose from or you can even create your own. They have daily happy hour specials making the experience even more affordable. I enjoyed a wine flight. Our server was great. She was patient and very knowledgeable of their offerings. Their parking can get pretty full but there is plenty street parking available. I can see myself coming back to unwind after work. Maybe sit at the bar. Come check them out.

YA'LL. I can not say enough good things about this place. The ambiance, the employees, the food, the drinks. *chefs kiss* They also have an amazing happy hour, that you should check out. It's from 4-6pm with deals on house wines, beer, cocktails, and they have a fun bottle and board combo! Highly recommend doing that! Honestly, everything I've gotten I have been so satisfied and happy with. I haven't tried their sammies yet ( my friend Liz gets them quite often and loves them) so that will be my next venture. But for real...the bruschetta is so fresh tasting! The herb dip is light, fluffy, and garlicy! And I love that you can do a meat and cheese board, or a chocolate and cheese board. So whatever mood you're in, they have you covered! They also change up the items on the board, so they keep you guessing. A huge shout out to Madeline and Luke for being the nicest people around! They will make your experience be 100%!

Knifebird is one of those places that makes you want to say THANK GOD! This is a very romantic spot in the Cooper Young. The restaurant has a nice selection of wines and also offers wine flights and cheese trays. The restaurant makes you feel like you are in California. I highly recommend it for a romantic evening!

Wine flight: bubbly, white & rosè...also. Look at this cute little tray.

I've visited this business twice, and both times have been extremely pleasant experiences. The first time we had reservations. And the second we did not. However, we were able to be seated rather quickly. The venue is absolutely adorable on the inside. I love the eclectic seating and the floral wallpaper. I especially love the seating because there's a variety of options -- there's couches, if you're looking for a lounge type feel, and settees if you're looking for a more intimate setting. On to the food. I enjoyed everything I've tried. The happy hour is reasonable. The flight pours are decent.

    Bruschetta flights, must get!!

She carried this review up to the 3 I'm giving Non-Vintage. First of all, there was a severe deficiency of seating and staff for this event. No one greeted us when we entered, we moved chairs ourselves to make an accommodating space out of the way of the performers, and at no point did a member of staff take our order outside of waiting at the bar. The line for the bar was right in the way of the performers, and many people were forced to wait 10+ minutes for a drink order because there was only one bartender working. Another staff member had offered to help, and the bartender DECLINED, forcing us to continue to wait. I did try the wings and the charcuterie, they were good. I tried the nonalcoholic hibiscus drink and the nonalcoholic summer cooler drink. The summer cooler was much better in my opinion, but both were good nonalcoholic options. I think I would like to try this place when they are not hosting an event, I'm sure it's lovely when they are staffed appropriately for the shift. However, I was sorely disappointed tonight being forced to wait nearly an hour at the bar, missing parts of the show and on my feet for just a drink.

I had a fantastic espresso martini and the best brussel sprouts I've ever tasted! So I was excited to come try something else. On the plus side, the bathroom was so nicely decorated. It was also very clean. I sat at the end of the bar, beside the little section of books. The bartender was nice. I ordered the Ember&Passion cocktail. Although it was pretty good, it was quite mild. Unexpected with the ingredients in it. I was surprised that the level of expected heat was not very detectable. I give it 7/10. When I came here before in the winter, the temperature was perfect and I don't remember being too bothered that they don't have cocktail napkins. But yesterday it was quite warm in the restaurant and not having these napkins wasn't good. Nobody in the restaurant had any type of napkin under any drink! I noticed that just like mine, every glass of water from every patron had a puddle of condensation under the glass. Each time I picked up my glass of water, it would drip onto my food and clothes. My two menus got so wet. I suppose they made this decision to save themselves a lot of money. As for the food: My parmesan truffle fries were excellent!! Hot, crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked in the middle. Best I've had in a long time. The Alabama white sauce on the side was just your typical sauce. It tasted just like every other Alabama white sauce that I've had so was not disappointing. But I actually ended up not using it because it was too thin and it didn't add anything to the fries. The fries were excellent enough on their own. I ordered my burger "pink" but there wasn't any pink to it, but I wasn't that bothered about it. Burger and the toppings were tasty, except for the fried green tomato. Looking closely at the picture, you can see that it was SO SMALL compared to the size of the burger. When a restaurant does that, don't they realize that it makes for a glaring disappointment?! It apparently came from near the end of the tomato, and not the middle. If you are going to offer a fried green tomato on a burger, then I feel as if you should only use the larger slices of the tomato, and save the smaller ends for maybe putting in salads. I've always been obsessed with fried green tomatoes. After having my first two bites of burger and still not reaching the tomato, I took it off to eat by itself. Sadly, it tasted terrible! I was surprised. Obviously, they didn't season the tomato or the batter. (Salt and pepper go a long way.) The burger toppings apparently made the tomato batter not only soggy, but also this strange thick texture. Like mushy and chewy at the same time. 1/10 Worst problem: FLIES!!! So many flies! When I just had my drink but no food yet, I noticed them but was not bombarded by them at that point. It wasn't until my food came. All of a sudden I was literally surrounded by them. They were everywhere! No exaggeration. I actually had to use only one hand to eat and the other hand to constantly move back and forth over my food. I eventually gave up and set the plate of some of my fries about 4 inches in front of my burger in order to hopefully draw the flies to the fries so that I could eat my burger. Unfortunately, after only four bites of my burger, when I set it down to take a drink of water, a fly landed on it within one second. Obviously, that was my last bite, and even when I was moving the plate closer to the end of the counter, two more flies landed on it. The glass of straws was inches from me. That, and the book closest to me seemed to be where they gathered to wait for their opportunity to dive bomb me. So many of them! It turned my stomach when I realized that I had been drinking from a straw with my water and I'm sure there had been flies on it before I got there. Every person that gets a straw in their drink at this restaurant has had a fly sitting on top of it. When the bartender told me about the desserts, it turned my stomach to think of just how many flies were in the kitchen. Had I known the fly situation was that bad when I first got my drink, I would have never stayed there, and I certainly would have never ordered food. I do think it is a real shame because the winter months are a totally different experience in that restaurant. But because of how horrible it was this time, I just can't ever come back.

A prime location for a prime steakhouse. The service was strong as was the pacing. I found the server a bit too eager to explain the restaurant and the menu. I'm a ribeye eater so I had a pretty good idea I was getting a ribeye before I went in. I think the talking is used as a way to upsell and push guests towards opaquely priced off-menu "specials" which from my understanding are always on offer (such as their deviled eggs and bone marrow sauce). We started with the beef tartare and duck ravioli. I preferred the tartare, which had a nice spicy seasoning throughout. The duck ravioli had an excellent sauce on it, too. For our mains, I got the prime boneless ribeye ($68) and my brother got the prime strip ($56). We also shared the Yume A5 Wagyu experience ($225), letting us try three different cuts of Wagyu side by side. For sides (about $15/each), we did the fontina potatoes, truffle honey tots, and carrots. We also added the gulf prawns ($21), foie gras ($14), and bone marrow sauce (~$20) which was prepared table side and was plenty to share. It was very rich and peppery, though a bit of a salt bomb. For dessert, we shared the French toast bread pudding with maple butter ($14) which is one of my favorite bread puddings I've tried. They also brought my brother a dessert since it was his birthday, it was something like a raspberry mousse with coconut foam and a sharp raspberry sauce. Excellent. The Yume experience was a big motivation in coming here, as getting to try cuts of A5 Wagyu next to cuts of regular (albeit prime) beef is unique in the Memphis area and really for hours around. It was priced as an experience rather than a food item. It did not disappoint, nor did the prime steaks. The A5 is so unbelievably tender by comparison. My favorite was the ribeye, but I'm biased. My brother, normally a strip guy, agreed with me there. The potato sides were underwhelming, particularly for the price. I don't know how I let my brother talk me into buying him $15 tater tots for his birthday. I could get the carrots again, though. My total was $800 for the two of us for the above food, six cocktails, and tax and tip. A big chunk of that was the Yume experience as well as the drinks (we were celebrating!). If we were to go back, it would be closer to $350 for the two of us, and I would go for the prime ribeye with foie gras again, no need for Wagyu or sauce. I enjoy the sister restaurants in this restaurant group (Coastal Fish, Flight, Southern Social) and frankly I'd bet Porch is the cash cow of the group due to the relatively poor value proposition. We had a great experience exploring the finest steak and accompaniments one could wish for. But, for my money, Coastal does a pretty good steak too.
