We then moved on to a medium BBQ board:smoked summer sausage & tasso ham, fancy cubed cheese, bbq, pickles & crackers, which was a great snack for two people. Next up was the Yemaya cocktail: spicy pepper infused mezcal, tequila, passionfruit, lime, agave...5/5. Final item was the cheesecake: strawberries and a balsamic glaze.the glaze really balances out the sweetness. Vibe: nice, chill and relaxed. Met up with friends yesterday afternoon at happy hour at Knifebird wine and bar. My friend ordered a Flowerhead beverage. It was very pretty and colorful. She said it was very good. My other friend had a glass of Moscato. She said it was very flavorful. I ordered a Mediterranean charcuterie board with vegetables-cucumber, carrots, and celery hearts. The board came with a few slices of pita bread. Also included l were with olive tapenade and hummus. Each were very tasty and plentiful. I should have asked for a few more veggies and pita. Very tasty and delish. My friends ordered the SLT which is a sandwich with prosciutto, tomatoes, arugula, bread, and lemon aioli. The y looked very good In presentation. My friends said they were delicious. Our server Maddie was very nice, cordial and attentive. She checked on us from time to time. The restaurant is decorated very nicely. It is a cozy modern feel. The servers wore Hawaiian shirts which added a nice touch for an original ambience. There are a few parking spots in the front and more on the side of the shopping plaza. They know how to make for a unique experience each time, and that's not just because the drinks are great, but rather the service is superb each time. I love asking for suggestions here because they are always thoughtful and personalized to your taste. During my last visit, I had their sweeter version of a Manhattan (see picture), and it might be one of my favorite drinks I've had in this city. We also got a charcuterie board for the first time as well, and it was pretty solid, though I would have expected it to be a bit more robust, given the price. My friend suggested we go here on our little outing on a Monday night. I LOVE the ambiance. This place is so cool and chill. Just my style. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, but we did make a reservation in advance just in case. Our waitress was super sweet, helpful and knowledgeable, which made ordering a breeze. My friend had been here before so she knew which wine she wanted and went with a glass of that. I ordered the "sweet dreams" flight. My favorite of the three was the moscato, but the brachetto was a really close second! To share we ordered nick's deviled eggs, a small house board, and garlic and herb cheese spread. Recently I was able to visit one of my favorite wine bars for a little girl time and Happy Hour! I've been going to knifebird winebar since they opened in 2018 and I have no clue why I'm just posting about them. Smh Anywho, knifebird is the perfect spot for those of us who like tp try different wines, learn more about them, charcuterie boards, or looking for a nice chilled yet sophisticated atmosphere! It's chic and modern design also makes it the go to spot for when you're trying to be cute and get some nice pictures or have a date! It's versatile and always a great experience for me! They have really good customer service and their staff is always so knowledgeable! On my most recent visit we had the pleasure of having Maggie as our bartender and server and she was the sweetest! Knifebird is located in the Cooper Young area in the same lot as Urban Outfitters and has Happy Hour every Monday through Saturday! If you haven't been I definitely recommend! The only warning I will give is that if you're looking to have a meal do that before you come as most of their bites accompany the wine selection. Also, they usually have a full house so just to be safe make reservations before you go! However, we were able to be seated rather quickly. The venue is absolutely adorable on the inside. I love the eclectic seating and the floral wallpaper. I especially love the seating because there's a variety of options -- there's couches, if you're looking for a lounge type feel, and settees if you're looking for a more intimate setting. Updated review: The last time I came to knifebird, they had just opened a month or two prior. The service my party received was abominable. Thankfully, it seems as though that employee is no longer there and the employees that are there are so sweet. The wine flights are great and I'm SO happy they finally have cocktails. The charcuterie board is a hard pass. $15 for Parmesan and salami. Literally nothing else. Venice Kitchen has the best board in town for $5 more and it's triple the size of the small board offered here (also much better variety and quality). The marinated olives are a must! Not too salty, perfectly seasoned. The bruschetta is what I'll be coming back for. Would recommend the pesto and the prosciutto. Overall, I think it's a cute place with good service and some* good snacks, but it could definitely be improved. Cute little wine bar in Midtown with a pretty reasonable happy hour lineup. Another couple and my husband and I split the ~$30 special that included a bottle of the house wine and a small charcuterie board. The wine was great, definitely not your standard quality of "house wine." It's worth the drink. The selections on the charcuterie board were great, but sparse in quantity (we had a full meal at Aldo's directly afterward). I wouldn't have been very impressed at full price. However, the real reason for the lower rating is customer service. When we arrived, we were told there was only bar seating available since we didn't have a reservation. That wasn't ideal, given that we were meeting friends. It was pretty empty, but it was a Saturday night so we said we understood and would wait on our friends to arrive to see what they wanted to do. Our friends managed to slip into the restaurant before we could flag them down to tell them about the situation. They were immediately seated at a table, with no mention of the establishment's limited (previously totally unavailable?) space due to reservations. During our ~90 minute visit, maybe two other tables arrived, leaving plenty of space for walk-ins. It was weird, to say the least. It seems odd that they'd end up in such a rare situation with basically an entire restaurant's worth of reservations not showing up on a Saturday night. But maybe that happened. I keep trying to tell myself that because the alternative is that, for whatever reason, they didn't want our business. And that's a shame because I'd been looking forward to trying this place since we moved here this fall, and I'm not inclined to return any time soon. read more

This cool little spot reminds me of a tapas bar in Barcelona. The decor is laid back, yet beautiful, and the service is excellent and sincere. The cocktails are handcrafted and sublime. I tried the bartender's special first, a tasty concoction of Mezcal, Aperol, lime and strawberry. Very smooth. From the food menu, we ordered Nick's deviled eggs, and a Bruschetta flight. The eggs, sadly, were a little rubbery and very mustard forward. Bruschetta here, is an individual crostini topped with a variety of toppings. We sampled the Tuscan white bean, the Pesto Rosso, Gorgonzola, and the Brie & Fruit. The Pesto Rosso was my favorite, while the Gorgonzola was a bit of a disappointment because I felt that the honey overpowered the taste of the cheese. We also ordered the Trieste sandwich, which was very good. I rounded out the evening with a second cocktail, the Afternoon Spritz, a refreshing blend of Bordiga Vermouth, soda & orange. It was really a spectacular evening, and we look forward to returning. The house special during happy hour is a solid offering of a bottle of wine with a medium charcuterie board. They have a menu to satisfy the average and above average drinker. They don't use the traditional alcohols you see at everyday bars. They take it a step further and higher. This place is extremely intriguing from the outside, I don't see many places that have "wine bar' written in the name! I assumed it was a very high class place because of this, and even as I walked in, the environment seemed to match my assumptions! My friends and I were having a girls' night and were sat by the window up front. We had a beautiful view of this purposefully decorated place! I loved the colors in there, they've got gorgeous wallpaper throughout! We had very high expectations after we looked at the menu. I got a cherry liqueur cocktail, and it was the perfect mix of strong and sweet. Everyone said the same thing about their drinks. What ended up being very underwhelming were the boards that were brought out. We got two (the House Board and the Sausage and Cheese Plate) for our group of five, and then split the Cheese and Chocolate Board for dessert. For a place that specializes in charcuterie boards (which is a great idea in today's culture!) you would think they would go all out for them. However, I've decided I will stick to homemade boards and not overpriced one. They kind of did the minimum here. If you are going to be paying what you pay here, you would expect the highest quality of meats, nuts, cheeses, etc. But the items placed on the board were pretty average and I could have picked them up at Kroger's and made my own average board at home. I guess the way to do Knifebird is to go with one other person (a GOOD date night place), each get a drink, and then split a board or two. Do this before going to a movie or play or something, with dinner after. Don't go just for dinner. My friends and I definitely ran through the drive through of Cookout afterwards to get a full meal!
